Zambia Under-20 on Tuesday lost 1-0 to 2015 African Youth Championship hosts Senegal in a friendly played in Dakar.
The two sides went into the break scoreless in Zambia’s final build-up match ahead of the tournament that kicks off on March 8.
Coach Hector Chilombo fielded his strongest side that included striker Patrick Ngoma plus midfielder’s Lubambo Musonda and Spencer Sautu who were all part of the senior Zambia team at the 2015 Africa Cup in Equatorial Guinea.
Alassane Diouf scored the games lone goal in the 70th minute to hand Senegal their second win against another COSAFA zone side just two days after they beat South Africa by the same margin at the same venue.
Zambia are in Group B at the tournament where they will play South Africa, Mali and Ghana in Mbour.
Chilombo’s side kick-off their campaign on March 9 against Mali.
Must have been exciting football. 1-0 in a friendly is ok.
Get focused Boys u can do it…u are my dream team…
Hope not another first round exit.
That’s very bad.
Under expected fluke performance!!!
That helps to identify the lopeholes to fill.
that’s good performance boys go Zambia to.
…Its good to lose before the tournament so that the technical bench can see the loopholes, lapses, cohersion, concentration levels etc…
I have strong belief in this team, this is the future of Chipolopolo
This is my team of all the 4 men’s national teams.
I have a very strong hope that this team will go all the way in this competition and bring the trophy to shade off our tears arising from our early exist of snr and U17 teams.
Come on boys do us a pride! You are THE TEAM.
Hector we have no coach for the senior team. This is your chance. Go win this tournament and you should take over from Janza
Good prep match as long as we’ve identified our shortfalls .Now is time for the real deal.
