    • This what Zambia needs–more happy events that bring everyone together and less divisive political gatherings that end blood.

    • The authorities actually allowed that to take place?

The first thing that struck me was ‘THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SAFETY PRECAUTION’.

The day we all start becoming our brother’s keeper is day the success we yearn for as a nation will be realised. If you love your country so much then you will love each and everyone of it’s citizens and you will not do anything that causes them harm.

We are too casual about everything and have lost the value of that which is most sacred’ Life itself.

    • Good initiative but safety was Compromised. Why not build a racetrack, than use streets with no protection booms. If one of the cars lose control, it would be disaster.

Streets are so dirty? Need sanitation in that country. Lusaka city council is useless. They should close it and outsource services to private companies..

    • 1. THE WHOLE ARRANGEMENT IS AN ABSOLUTE SAFETY FLAW.
      2. IT STRIKES ME HOW STILL FILTHY ZAMBIAN CITIES ARE. OUR STREETS ARE THE FILTHIEST IN THE WORLD.
      3. NO BUILDING IN ZAMBIA MAKE ONE MARVEL ABOUT OUR ARCHITECTS AND ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERS. UP TO NOW A LARGE %AGE OF OUR ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURES LOOK LIKE (IFITELE FYA NKUMBA) PIG STILES.

    • Motorsport at your own risk. What is needed are crash barriers and not crowd control officials. No Event Equipment suppliers in Zambia?

Pic #15 coolie gal in skin-tight leggings can really cause an accident or a traffic jam.

    • Lusaka alone being very dirty city is a gross understatement, its the freakin’ whole country in an extremely dirty state…..and its citizens are comfortable with that.

Ifiko has become a new normal….sad

    • Livingstone is proud to be much cleaner than all the cities in Zed.

From your friends in Livingstone 2015

    • compared to Central Johannesburg it looks okay. May be Zambia should consider building another metropolis like South Africans built Sandton

  1. Nice to see there is plenty of life in Zambia outside Politics ..awesome. Lets Kill politics and have normal lives

  2. The people in Leadership in this Kanthemba called Zambia should be very much ashamed of themselves. One can’t even dare bring a friend home, because the whole country is huge damp site. Its like these people in authority never travel at all. Lusaka is an eyesore!!!! I really find difficulties loving my city.

    • The solution lies in having the position of city mayor open to election by the general city residents from among any willing residents and devoid of partisan politics. A visional city father would turn round the fortunes. The idea of governors in the UNIP era is a case in point but then couldn’t work due to governors being party functionaries.

  3. It’s looks very dirty yes, but it looks like they’re having fun too. That street circuit looks very, very dangerous.
BaLT, is it raving or reving? This is not a rave at a night club.
Surely you could have named the race drivers in your pictures 22 and 23. Are you that bad?!

    • Sorry for the viewers and supporters, had no safety too, very very dangerous

From your friends in Livingstone 2015

  4. I love motorsport in any shape or form. It looks like pipo are having fun. I know safety is a least of our worries in Zed. This is ‘Monaco’ street racing. Except in this case the audience is seating in the middle of the road.

  5. This is Zambia the real Africa. No concern for safety. No concern for cleanness. How do authorities allow people to be on top of buildings like that? How do people get allowed to line up like that with no protective barriers? How do organisers race with filth on the roads? and these photos goes world wide. Only in Zambia can you find laid back people who are immuned to dirty

    • What do you expect, the new Lusaka Mayor is from nondescript filthy shanty compound, that’s Zed for you. The President was Member of Parliament representing the people of Chawama, another filthy slam of Lusaka, well…. Keep dreaming ! Only in Africa..!

    • @ 11 and 11.1 the more the reason we are seeing gated communities being established for none other than exclusivity!

Refer to my comment at 5.2 on sharing similar thoughts with 11.1, the current system of choosing the mayor does contribute to all the negative we see in our cities. Let the mayoral seat be contested for by city residents devoid of party politics.

  6. Dirty and dangerous occasion. Just look at it tells you that there is no government in control of things. I wonder if any risk assessment was undertaken.

  7. Anyone with connections to the people in charge or cleaning contracts. I see opportunities for cleaning companies to clean the city. Looks like it was hit by a tornado which left litter scattered every where and we wonder why there are so many sicknesses.

On a positive note, event looks great and people seem happy.

  8. Street racing on a motor rally or F1’s calender is a idea but looking at these pictures saftey has not been considered as there is only a line separating the crowd and circuit…you at least need a physical barrier in case a tyre busts.
What in the hell is the Mayor of this city accepting a position at State House when the street looks like a dusty filthy road?

  9. I know the organisers have to bring this sport to the people to generate more interest, but this is overcooking it. Only a couple of meters away and no safety measures at all?.

How do you do a spin and/or a tyre-burn when you’re so close? Scarly.
