State House has released a statement to the media explaining why the president was fatigued. According to the statement,on Friday, March 6, 2015, the President officiated at the launch of Dr Kenneth Kaunda’s re-launch of the book “Zambia Shall Be Free” from 19:00 hours to 23:20 hours.

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, the president chaired the PF Central Committee meeting from 09:00hours to 18:00 hours and later met provincial officials and chiefs in the night.

Below is the full statement:

His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia has had to excuse himself from the Women’s Day celebrations when he felt uncomfortable.

President Lungu delegated his authority to Minister of Gender, Professor Nkandu Luo to take charge of the remainder of the women’s day parade.

Later doctors detected high levels of fatigue. After a snap test in the holding room, traces of malaria were detected. Due to this illness, President Lungu was forced to leave Heroes Stadium earlier than planned.

Doctors at Maina Soko Military Hospital have since conducted comprehensive medical check-ups and observed the President and the results are good.

The President is being treated for malaria and fatigue and has been advised to take some rest.

“I am feeling much better and I have been told I have high levels of fatigue and should take some rest. There is nothing to worry about,” President Lungu said.

    • not true for someone to fail to withstand the pressure. Bashi maini tulabomba double shift pa mugodi which is not even a habitable environment; you knock off at six oclock and report back at 14 hours for change of shift….whta are you guys telling us? the man should have rested at mfuwe instead he opted to go and meet mugabe in zimbabwe..prioritise otherwise muzatisiya.

    • This is blackmailing of the highest order. The President knows that his health is failing him.

He wants to seem open so that he can blackmailing the shortsighted bloggers and other people.

Already he has managed to hoodwink some poor bloggers who have now resorted to praising the State House and the president.

Only strong people like us, will be able to read the trick behind this quick publicity. It is meant at blackmailing people that have soft brains like 3 quarters of my poor bloggers of this site.

I feel sory for majoority of blind bloggers.

People, Edgar Chagwa Lungu is extreamely unwell. The liver problem is failing him.

Decades of taking Kachasu will soon claim his life.

    • Its just too much alcoholism! Lungu should minimize his drinking & concentrate on his & country health, so is the wellbeing.

If Zambia has to move forward to prosperity, marionette & childishly leadership should never be condoned whatsoever. This mediocre politics of lifting hands to find a president should cease immediately. Too much drunkenness & failures of electing genuine & pro efficient leaders of diligent governance to take the country forward has been shunned by tribalists, as well as the recycled.
Sure Lungu has NO vision & the economy is daily failing to gain. Meanwhile everyday its injunctions, firing, swearing in never ending by elections.

PF is visionless, the signs are everywhere. Lungu & PF’re failures!

    • High levels of fatigue.
      “Levels” implies fatigue is quantifiable.
How is fatigue quantified? Or better still, what is its unit of measure?

I am ready for school. Any teacher in here?

    • this is pure hangover,,,, hangover comes with fatigue malaria like and difficult with eat some times,,, no need to go to the hospital,,,,..this man is chawawa,,, fast fast fast,, send someone to chawama to buy soup ya mbuzi na michopo,,and aleast 3 castle pa side and glass of cold water after,, then send bed rest,,, he will struggle on monday but he will start feeling fit on tuesday,,
me and my friend @Nostradamus can offer solution to this easy,,,no need fo doctors,,but the pesident must come out and tell the truth, this is hangover not malaria,,,malaria pa sunday after satuday drink, not possible

    • RB is already being positioned to stand on a MMD-PF ticket just in case Edgar goes down. People get ready for MMD-PF verses UNPD.

Its RB against HH, this time around

    • We wish our dearest President well. It’s normal and humane to suffer such healthcare glitches once in a while as long as we are not the immortal species beings. Even in the movement of continual transformation that man effects on his environment in the effort to satisfy his societal needs sometimes resulting in some class-consciousness, we are all bound to fall sick.
It’s only those who are born of the supernatural powers that never fall sick. No matter the medical systems realized in and around us, our human bodies are prone to slow down at some point until they receive some medical care or take some rest to rebound.

    • Moreover, Lungu is too lazy & visionless. Mwanawasa used to sleep for 4-5hours, worked late & started early as 5am everyday. The economy was flourishing of the kwacha being 2.4 or rather, K2,500 per dollar. Now look at PF marionette leadership, $1=K7 plus, by elections, firings, injunctions, swearings every given moment. When will PF actually & really sit down to do the actual work?

PF illusionists, let us talk about the economy & deteriorating kwacha. Busy parading the dictator of 27 years, yet failing the economic prosperity. The Failed State Index,2014, projects Zambia trending on 86% poverty & suffering levels.

PF have failed especially with Chief Mambala RB of MMD/ Retirement controlling PF b’coz Lungu is visionless.

    • Uko they started eliminating him slowly. Next it will be president has gone has for a working holiday in Malaysia this time.

I have told Lungu to keep Mugabe’s CIOs at length because I do not trust this Kalaba guy.

Kalaba is bitter because he wanted to be vice president so that after elininating Lungu, he should take over with the help of Mugabes’ CIOs .

I hope Lungu was not poisoned with radioactive material in his drink.

Going forward, Lungu should not drink any drink not bought by his wife or his children. He should not accept any gifts of drinks.

Please I do not want another bye election before the 2016 general election.

    • @Ndobo,
I always tell that Edgar to start working out, that Ba Ester tabakwata uluse, how can she offer him 2-night-long farewells?
My hang-over is over, my wife rescued me when she came back from church, and I passed-out… just woke-up. Am so surprised that all of you still discussing hang-over and bedroom fatigue.

    • Soon be like SATA visiting hospitals around the world . Don’t worry you can use tax payers money just like sata and people don’t care.

    • Exactly @ 1.4 Sattish, who are these doctors who think they are the only ones privileged with intelligence? You prove the point I was about to make wondering how the “High levels of fatigue” were determined! Does malaria cause fatigue? There are many associated causes with fatigue ranging between irregular heart beat to hypo sugar levels if diabetic! Doctors must be careful when trying to pull a fast one on a population that is not overtly dumb and is able to browse for information! Ba Doctor mwilatubepa limo mulelanda ifishinka than try to be clever. It would have sufficed to say after tests you advised the ‘patient’ to take a rest. Thanks Sattish!

    • IF IT COMES FROM PF, IT IS LIES! LUNGU’S KIDNEYS ARE OPERATING AT 9%! DO YOU THINK LUNGU’S HEALTH STATUS WILL ALLOW HIM TO OPERATE NORMALLY AS AN ACTIVE PRESIDENT? WE WERE ONCE AGAIN DUPED! LUNGU IS ANOTHER LIABILITY TO THE NATION. ZAMBIA WILL LOSE MORE MONEY ONCE AGAIN TO SUSTAIN LUNGU’S HEALTH AND LIFE. THAT SIMPLY MEANS THAT NO MONEY WILL BE AVAILABLE TO DEVELOP OUR ECONOMY, AND ZAMBIANS WILL CONTINUE TO WALLOW IN POVERTY

  1. This is how it starts. Its Sata all over again, only difference is now in the lying tactics. This illness is going to be a show stopper as it will distract attention, and recourses, from the important issues on the subject at hand, i.e. women.
Experience has taught us Zambians at great cost, not once but twice, that it is counterproductive to the entire Country to knowingly let a person with proven poor health assume the position of Head of State.

    • Here is the analysis of how time was spent by HE President Changwa, 4 housing launching a book and 9 hours politicking under a PF meeting. Really how can a country develop when its leader is spending 13 hours of a day doing nothing which will directly contribute to the economic well being of a nation. No wonder the kwacha is sliding or nose diving.

On the medical results, what is this ‘…….the holding room, traces of malaria were detected….’ what test can be done in a holding room other than a rapid test. Pls stop capitalizing on the poor people’s lack of knowledge.

    • @Rupiah, what about that deal that you should exchange wives. Edgar can manage well ka Thandiwe, because Ba Ester… kufunika tuma roots, or else he always be left fatigued.

  2. This transparency will put critics of the president to shame.I like the way our republican president is trying to change the perception that the president’s sicknesses should be kept out the public spotlight. All human beings, including those who insult a lot on social media, will fall sick from time to time and that’s why doctors & nurses are trained, at a great expense to tax payers, to take care of the sick. Already some *****s at ZWD are celebrating.

    • There is no transparency here. He collapsed publicly and before cameras. How can they hide? What they are trying to do now is to minimise the illness but it wont help because all this was predicted even before the elections. Ms Masebo is now vindicated.

What we need to do is to acknowledge that our president is ill and therefore pray for him. Not politics.

    • He was resuscitated, that is not fatigue. Your president is inadequate. This is very serious at 1 month!. I know there is a blackout of news out there.

  3. Edgar Lungu is a President under curse. Us PF Members who are unhappy with his ruling has cursed him because of abandoning the legacy of Micheal Sata and embracing that of Corrupt Rupiah Banda.

The body of Micheal Sata is now turning in the grave 10 times per day because of political sins Lungu is committing.

Now today evidence of the spirit of Micheal Sata being annoyed with Lungu has started by embarrassing him in what would have his first public address since assuming office.

Our biggest prayer as genuine PF Members is that the spirit of iur departed leader continue tormenting the Kachasu Man until his casket touches soils of Embasy Park. May The Spirit of thr Chibuku Man rest in Beer.

May u not recover you traitor. You have betra

    • Sata wasn’t Zambia and ZAMBIA isn’t Sata! On 20th January 2015, we elected Mr. EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU as Republican President until 2016. God has already tested the evil opposition and has opened our eyes that others can kill for positions and fortunately for us, our President Mr. Lungu will fully recover and continue his mandate of developing Zambia.

In 2016, we will overwhelmingly vote for this galant young man again until the devil is gets it! You can’t wish your friend ill just to satisfy your ego.

As long as we are mortal, we are all bound to get sick and die someday.

Quick recovery your excellence, we need you! Those you have defeated and dropped will continue to say all bad things about you but fortunately it is ONLY God who has the secret for all of us and we are praying…

    • You are not PF but upnd. Yu are a Tonga who is always trying to breed division amongst PF members. Yu are so evil, don’t pretend to be PF we can see through yo cheap trick, it will never work. Someone sais ‘to do the same thing and expect different results is madness’ if not dullness or fulishness

  4. Am one of those who supports EL very disappointed about his failing ill while presiding over the international women day celebration. It is either EL is simplifying Presidency or his personal doctors are to blame. Unless EL is uncontrollable, he ought not have presided on this occasion. I agree he is not immune to sudden attacks on health. But this was not sudden attack but an ignore of feelings of ill health. It is known EL is diabetic therefore to be told that doctors detected traces of malaria in him is strange and laughable. There is no malaria in Lusaka and much more at State house. EL must come to grips that he is at State house and President otherwise Zambians will not give him further probation. What has happened today is minus on presidential candidature points in 2016.

    • You say he is diabetic? Then the doctors are lying as to the cause leading to his collapsing. It should have been due to low sugar levels in his body system!

  5. Personally am disappointed as what happened is a public relations stunt which must NOT be tolerated. This thing by end of tomorrow will be viral online. There are many things EL must improve on his public relation matters;
    1. Dressing. He must dress as a president and not as an yo yo or Sosi. Let him not put on the hat anyhow or anywhere otherwise it shows an element of stubbornness.
    2. He must be audible when he speaks. So his speech is annoyingly difficult to grasp what he is saying
    3. When speaking, he is either too fast or slow to be in tandem with him. Amos Chanda must be brave enough to advise him about this flaw in him
    4. He must NOT threaten our trust in him with statements that he does not care even if he loses in 2016. This is not fair to those who have invested in his…

  6. This is blackmail of the highest order. The President knows that his health is failing him due to decades of alcohol intake.

He wants to seem open so that he can blackmail the shortsighted bloggers and other people to believe his lies.

Already he has managed to hoodwink some poor bloggers who have now resorted to praising the State House and the president.

Only strong people like us, will be able to read the trick behind this quick publicity.

It is meant at blackmailing people that have soft brains like 3 quarters of my poor bloggers of this site.

I feel sorry for majority of blind bloggers who follow without analyzing.

People, Edgar Chagwa Lungu is extremely unwell. The liver problem is failing him. In fact he is very sick.

Decades of taking Kachasu will soon claim…

  7. As Christians those who celebrate ECL’s or anybody’s illness shoul be ashamed of themselves, this behaviour is un-Zambian, dangerous and evil – all because of losing an election.

    • Ted; you are a big F00L.

In your case you are not even a Christian just like Edgar Lungu the Ant christ.

      Shame on you.

    • @ted, agreed Losing elections produces all sorts of illogical responses to common sense such as you see in this thread

    • SHUT- UP MY MAN. THERE IS NO CHRISTIAN IN ZAMBIA. DECLARING ZAMBIA A CHRISTIAN NATION IS A POLITICAL INGREDIENTS TO WIN ELECTION. I HAVE BEEN IN ZAMBIA, MINGLED WITH IF THOSE WHO CLAIM TO BE SERVANTS OF GOD. CALLING ZAMBIA A CHRISTIAN NATION IS HIGHLY LAUGHABLE.

  8. It has begun… I heard that before and the ending wasn’t good.

I usually go to bed way past mid-night, wake up at 6am; go to work from 7 to 5pm; go to the gym at 6pm and go to bed at 1am… the routine is intact and I have never been diagnosed with high levels of fatigue or malaria.

the difference perhaps is age and the fact I don’t drink, nor smoke unlike Mr Lungu.

Oh dear… maybe reduce on the drinks.

  9. I think State house have handled this very well. I like the new transparency. This is how it should be .

    • State house should have said this the first time not giving chance to speculation.. Wishing my President well.

  10. Does it mean only PF Presidents have fatigue? They have no vision and they are in trouble of too much borrowing. They are too over excited yet they do not know anything. Mwanawasa never had fatigue and his works were seen, Sata had fatigue the only fatigue came from him being a tribalsit. All the best with your fatigue.

    • Baswe, yu are a tribalist, a hater and a liar. What are u talking about. I tried to ignore yu but yu are repeating yo lies hoping to deceive someone with yo cheap tricks.
Its common knowledge that when Mwanawasa was president copper was at its highest and that was the only reason the currency/ economy was better , it didn’t even trickle down to the masses, poverty continued . Otherwise what did Levy do apart from continuing with what Chiluba had started in terms of the economy. He just reaped the outcomes of the harsh/ difficult decisions FTJ had made. Just because LPM was a bantu botatwe plz give us a break
Don’t think or hope we are as ignorant as yu are. We can’t be deceived by yu and persuaded to believe in hh never

    • Jo. you should leave Levy alone, he is arguably the best president this nation has ever had. For EL and the economy your defense could be that he is too new in the seat to be judged for now. That could be a more educated argument with some critical thinking. Just for PF’s economic direction there is a lot to be desired. Look at the number of economic policy u-turns which is a good measure that planning and foresting is not well done under this government. May be that is what EL should work on to stabilize, hoping you have a good understanding of economic policies.

  11. Oh dear! The president should try my routine, seriously because I really graft:
What he did is nothing worth causing fatigue! Have we become this lazy in Zed Gents? We will not get anywhere if we tire this easily…
    My thoughts.

    • They have just given you his routine over the last forty eight hours. This has been his daily routine. Malaria is present in Lusaka and records at every hospital and clinic in Lusaka show this. Diseases like malaria are all over Lusaka and even in Angola and Zimbabwe where our president has recently been

  12. The state house statement is laughable and reminds us of the ‘ Sata is fit and well’.
Surely if Lungu can’t cope with occasional long hours on the job let him step down. Who doesn’t work long hours? Drivers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, farmers, I can go on and on and on.
My advice to Lungu is ‘ your health first and the attractions of statehouse last’.

    • @london eye, iwe the president is fine don’t hid in looking concerned, go show Concern to your free mansion’s wife that is slowly losing her husband to the crafty molin..

    • @Chinyama,
From your response it is clear that you have not understood my comment. We leave it there.

  13. I am very sure Amos Chanda, the Special assistant to the President (Press &Public Relations) inserted his own word ‘fatigue’ instead of alcohol. I mean the report from the doctor must have read high levels of alcohol. What Amos doesn’t know, with his university degree if he has any, is that fatigue cannot be quantified like alcohol.

  14. Bloggers except for the rationale imbued ones have disappointed us. He got malaria, remember it is Zambia, they have not eradicated mosquitoes yet. He went to a local hospital not South Africa. That in itself is very good for our nation. You lot are some scoundrel hating for no reason bunch. Learn to appreciate great things like a president that is using our local doctors for it has not really happened since KK.

  15. I wonder how often he will be getting these comprehensive medical checkups? Even Robert Mugabe who is 91 years old does not get medical checkups and bed rests as often as Lungu has started. This only says one thing, the wood is rotten inside.if he is going to get fatigued just to attend two meetings in a week, then the man is not fit to be the president. With kind of problems the country is facing, Zambia needs a healthy hard working president.

  16. everyone knew that this man forced himself into the presidential race, therefore his early failures in his performance is his making . he was sick and he is still sick too bad for the nation and his supporters

  17. Naba fwenya Maureen can get sick. Therefore,do not celebrate one’s illness. Respect El the same way we will respect HH’s child when he rules in 2032. HH is ok but this time,no ways I fear tribalism which people who surround him have brought. Personally he has not fully condemned it except a few people like dipak. He really needs serious open apology otherwise, forget 2016.

  18. It’s indeed a very demanding responsibility, needing supreme efforts at resilience, determination and goal-getting stamina!

  19. Get well and back to work my President shem these people that wish bad things to others just to try & rule..The mining Giants want their money back after promising them the moon…

  20. Deja vu – Last year a similar story started trending with one Michael Sata.
You can not start explaining that he’s fatigued. It’s not something to be proud of!! This is a high pressured job. He was told that he needed to be medically fit!! He needs to step down asap and let some one fit do the job. This is a country we are talking about not akantemba!
I’m not going to wish him quick recovery, he knew what he was getting into and that is for his health to be scrutinized by the whole nation!

    • Your problem is that the one you were supporting during the Jan. 20 presidential bye-elections was defeated by the same person you are writing ill about. What do we expect from a person like you.

    • In all manner and form, this guy EL lacks everything required in a leader. Personality, dress code, stance and even appearance. He cant even look people in the eyes when greeting. His face and eyes are always down cast. Just looking at the guy, you can see that he has health issues which even at the presidency level can not be managed. He also knows very well that he lacks everything and thats why he has resorted to threats. Zambians if you think that the economy will turn around on his watch, wait again. You voted for Edigar and he passed on the leadership to RB. When you voted for RB, RB gave you an all inclusive leadership of RB & Sons. Its time people you woke up. You cant start footing medical bills in less than 2 months for exisisting alcohol related problems.

  21. The only logical measure in levels is the alcohol in the blood. Why do you Zambians behave like im.be.ciles??? How can you have HIGH LEVELS of FATIGUE. What the fcuk is that!? Are you kidding me? Not in the 21st Century – try another plausible lie…

  22. Hope we are not witnessing the beginning of yet another set of lies regarding the health of a sitting president?

  23. Edgar Lungu is feeling the intense and unbearable heat in the kitchen and will soon be left with no option but throw in the towel.
There is still time for him to re-contest the Chawama seat so that he returns to familiar surroundings and be reunited with his drinking mates.

  24. Get well soon Edgar we are tired of bye- elections . My guess is that the people celebrating are in PF. Especially those who had a parrallel convention at Mulungushi. Those who didn’t get the vice Presidency as they expected and those who were not re appointed as Ministers. UPND still recovering from that close elections

    • Yikali iyo abena Tabo, though I would say to you that we are created differently by the God of varieties and other conditions we acquire them here on earth as we live. You are unique in your own way just as HEECL may not be like KK in any way. Moreover certain habits of KK including his diet and other things are very different from Lungu’s.

  25. This is a lot of nonsense you mean he is only used to work short hours since when this guy lead a very rough tough life in Chimwemwe drinking chubuku. Clean your act whoever is in charge of his PR otherwise we will believe that his health is suspect he is not an old man mind you?

    • I agree with you London…this guy used to live a very tough life mu komboni and now he is becoming fatigued over nothing….kwena pa Zambia too much ubufi…Lungu is not well and this is just the beginning…

  26. Sadly here we go again. The first rule of presidential protocol is to always project an image of control and sound health. If there was even a hint of the president not feeling well he should have issued a statement and delegated the officiating of this event to the first lady and Inonge Wina. We all know that presidents are human too and hence susceptible to health failing from time to time. Lungu needs to watch those managing his protocol and make sure they remember his only human. Like this whole Namibia thing he does need to go its enough for KK, RB and maybe Wina to represent Zambian government. May he get well soon!

    • And this man is also the defence minister …really laughable very soon Mrs Wina will be head of state promoted from Airport escort!

  27. General David Petraeus, one of America’s most decorated Generals collapsed due to exhaustion whilst giving testimony to Senate. Piling up programs back to back can be dangerous.

    • Wrong example. That guy’s fatigue was brought about by the lowering of his pants. He didn’t time the light well as it revealed his clandestine activities. Don’t generalize. That is a very bad example to use in this instance.

  28. PF and its supporters are cursed with lack of thinking and analytical skills. We have been on this path before starting with Mwanawasa and ending with Sata and you wonder what it will take to convince them that we need presidents who are medically fit in state house. What is painful is that we are back to being told lies about the health of the president again so soon. I don’t know if we still have wise men and women anymore in Zambia.

  29. This president was on holiday after 20th January 2015. Less thank 60days he is found with high level of fatigue. I am not a small boy. What are unit for fatigue. News24 has said it clearly “Zambian president collapses.

    • That was not a simple holiday but a working holiday. HE ECL was looking at security vetting and reports on all those he was to appoint and also disappoint. He has also been dealing with behind the scenes rebellions within PF. It is no wonder that he keeps very late nights.

  30. Iwe shimaini who commented that, u work double shifts pa mugodi. Let me tell u this; your work is a manual one and u use muscles. But let me also inform u that the job of a president is more demanding than yours coz him it is psycholgical using brains. Actually even thinking for you, how best he can make u earn a double salary from slave masters. Then u are there busy yapping.

  31. Really laughable these spin doctors are delusional, they think if you have malaria you can even crawl to the bathroom to brush your teeth in the morning….we have been disabled by malaria before a number of times at boarding school. This guy Lungu is simply a lazy bum who like old man Sata thought leadership is a 9-12 o’clock have a 3 hour lunch break then resume at 15hrs sign off a couple of documents, terminate a few contracts of civil servants and go home at 17:00hrs to the State house bar.
This man LAMENTABLY FAILED to run his soliciting firm in all honesty what would he know about a 50+ hour week…he should ask David Cameron or Obama those guys go home at 22:00hrs.

Do not take up jobs if you do not have the discipline or ethic to do them.

  32. mr president and mama wina help PF and this country. sata ignored it when he kept scott as vice president and we thot that was lesson enuf. pliz drop inonge and appoint your vice who can help you , the country and PF. Be like sata who was not ashemed of making changes. pick someone who can stand even when you are not there. Quickly work on the constituition so that the vip takes over when the president can not work as president.

  33. it’s a sad sorry for Zambians!! Enu Tuwa why do support wrong things and make your children suffer in the name of tribalism?? mweebashitekwa as you claim yet dander heads ba mumbwe! Your vision less president is sick, you were told!!

    • Another President jogging in London? Or one that is “healthy and working hard” at State House in his private hospital?

Enough of this nonsense, if kachasu Lungu cannot do the job, let him resign or die quickly.

Zambia cannot afford to have State House converted into an old age home for incompetents!

  34. Makes you shudder to think of the day when he might collapse on foreign soil during his planned globe trotting. Recall Mwanawasa collapsed in Ethiopia, Sata collapsed in New York. There is a trend developing here for Zambia.

  35. Ubufi continues, and retarded liars at that, first it was malaria, now it’s ‘high levels of fatigue’. This Lungu was honest at the beginning when he announced he wasn’t aspiring for the presidency, that he was unfit, that he was clueless and no had vision for the country, but brainless rebels went against common sense and voted him into power. Very soon we will be subjected to reports of evacuations to distant lands on ‘medical tours’. This guys is evidently unfit for high pressure duties of head of state. He would be more at home and happy in some shebeen drinking beer every day. You have forced him to do something he wasn’t cut out for. He is a disaster waiting to happen and it will happen, very soon.

    • The doves flew up and high and soared like an eagle! We were there, saw it with our own eyes. Stop being scenical.

The President is very fine just fatigued, we saw him on TV, too bad for the dooms wishers.

Glory to God in the Highest.

  36. Zambia must be the world’s sleepiest country in the world. How is it we are the ones always ending-up with all these sick and dying presidents?

  37. ah he wanted to go and get papalaza he had too much the previous night get well soon mr presido . now you have found strong beers of all kinds at state house take it easy.

  38. Yes one maybe fatigued but the statement “detected high levels of fatigue” and using it as a vehicle to diagnose Malaria is laughable. How do you quantify that? lol
If he has Malaria or an infection, they would point out to simple labs like CBC shows positive infection and presenting symptoms like fever, chills, sweats, headaches, muscle pains, nausea and vomiting. Just having a hangover from too much whiskey can dehydrate a person and i think that’s what we are witnessing from our alcohol loving president.

  39. HH worships another deity, that is why him and his media wing ZWD, wish people more successful than them dead.

  40. Diabetes is a disability. A diabetic is protected from discrimination. There is NO Law that says a President cannot be a diabetic nor have a disability.

It follows that His Excellency must be allowed to rest as required. His office must ensure his schedule has adequate rest periods. His Excellency has been Jet Setting in the first weeks of taking up office, that is enough to make anyone ill.

Even the working holiday was a bad idea. He ought to have taken a few weeks to recover from campaigning. Is it not true HH landed in Hospital after the elections?

His Excellency MUST rest. Zambians must stand tall in the world for electing a disabled President.

    • There is NO need for the President to feel pressured into long hours.

What is required is for hi to delegate as much as possible. His cabinet must represent him more often.

There is no need to appear like an Olimpian in the modern world, as we cater for ALL differences in the human form.

This gives us the opportunity to highlight this disease and to lead in fair treatment and anti discrimination challenges.

    • If one is ailing, why aspire for presidency in the first place? The reasoning of you Zambian chaps is too shallow.

    • @ Blago

You don’t understand what disability is nor do you understand the word shallow.

You have failed to read and understand what has been put forward in that argument.

The President is not ailing. He has a condition, and one cannot exclude people with disabilities from office nor any other job. The law prevents that. Therefore it’s perfectly ok to apply for office. The law also protects the disabled at work. They must have conditions altered to allow them to do their job. It’s ok for the President to change his schedule to allow more delegation so he is supporting his health.

  41. What transparency are you talking about! It happened in public and there was no way of hiding it! Can fatigue and simple malaria the way they are putting it make the president sleep in hospital?

  42. I don’t take pressure in someone’s sickness, get well soon MR PRESIDENT. MEANWHILE ITS RAINBOW PARTY 2016

  43. What transparency are you talking about! It happened in public and there was no way of hiding it! Can fatigue and simple malaria the way they are putting it make the president sleep in hospital.

    • @Maybin

There is NO need to hide it, hence the released statement. If that is NOT transparent, what is?

    • @maybin,
      You’re spot on.
If he had collapsed at a closed door meeting in state house only the ZWD would have got wind of it and published it and they were going to deny it and call the ZWD all sorts of names especially from that illiterate Kambwili.

  44. We lift His Excellency President Lungu, up before Our Father in Heaven
We ask for healing for this great soldier of His
Our human bodies are weak and with faults
But You Of God Almighty are Strong and Able above all things to Heal and bolster the spirit.

We pray for healing of His Excellency President Lungu, who is but flesh

    We thank You for Him
And may president Lungu carry out All Your work for Zambia as according to Your wish and time.

    Thank you Father
We trust and have faith in You. You are Able above All to bring healing and order.
    Amen

  45. What our beloved Zambia needs now is more young people to get involved in politics, particularly the ones that have beeb educated in countries like UK or US, these people will take our country to the next stage of development! Look at all the mines, all run by foreigners makings billions yet alot of Zambian’s are still poor, why not make it easier for more Zambians to be able to get into these businesses amd running them by offering more training amd apprenticeships for young people! Raise the minimum wage to all foreign owned businesses, why should they make billions and pay our people peanuts? More apprenticeships in the construction industry for young people to build our country! make it easier for people to get loan’s if they can prove they can afford the pay back

  46. President is sick; Minister of Defence is sick; the economy is sick; the Kwacha is in intensive care unit. What a misfortune for Zambia! Fidel Castrol at the age of over 65, used to work close to 18 hrs per day for months on end.

  47. Very soon your man and even yourselves will get sick because we are all not in paradise. Sometimes you should think like human beings. Even your education and exposure can not change you. Sad indeed. Get well soon Mr Pres.

  48. Kachasu at work, the man is finished internally, chikokome camukuyu mukati mwache muli nyelele. Balipwa kale

  49. Colleagues. This illness with EL has nothing to do with HH or ZWD. This story is everywhere; even international media, ‘Newly elected Zambian President Falls ill at Public Function’. Why should everything around EL be about HH? EL has enemies in PF and an opposition leader in HH. There is a huge difference between the two.

  50. If someone cant keep a chicken, how on earth could people think that he can keep 14 million people plus their ; chickens, goats, cattle, pigs cars, boats maize, cassava, minsale, malaka, houses etc? When he ‘lezela’ (colapse), you give fake excuses!

  51. amama neo akwasu a Edgar lungu, may the good lord have mercy on edgar/Zambians by healing him of his illness/s. it’s a pity that his questionable health was known but some people in pf defied this and supported ecl through and through. I hope we won’t break the guinness record as the first country with the most bye elections…..

  52. His excellency may have condition called VERTIGO due to a sadden and drastic reduction of alchol intake.I had this condition 2.5yrs ago.Usually this condition elludes most doctors who rush to checking malaria and investigating other ailments.I was given all sorts of medicines but never improved until one of nephews whos a doctor working at Kitwe central hospital then called me and asked me how I was feeling. He new very well about my alchol intake levels which he would often warn me about. When I explained to him he straight away told me I had a condition called vertigo. He further on went to say he lost two of his patients and saved one in the previous week due to the same condition. These were boys from Kitwe on serious tujilijili. He then advised i go back to the hospital and ask the doctor

    • to give me vitamin B complex through a drip.?The stuff is yellow in color ‘ he lamented. My wife drove me back to the hospital. On my way I vomited. The symptoms were just like malaria. When I got to the hospital the doctor was suprised to see me demanding for a drip filled with the yellow stuff-B complex. After a few debates with the Doc…she obliged and gave me B complex through the drip.Immediately after running one drip.My condition drastically improved to my disbelief and that of the doctor’s and my wife.My nephew Doc then advised me to take foods reach in vitamin B and warned me that if you have been a heavy drinker you dont quit alchol like that coz the alchol cravious in your liver start feed on your B vitamins for there survival causing to get dizzy.
In all our docs are doing…

    • You are truly mental health.

Vertigo has nothing to do with alcohol intake or withdrawal!

You nephew is a danger to patients!

  53. TIMELY ADVICE TO eNCA

I am a keen viewer of eNCA news bulletins and its fine, well researched documentaries aired from the Johannesburg. Even our own dear Kwangu Liwewe along with Jeremy Maggs and Iman constitute a fine team of professional journalists on this respectable TV channel.

However, I was deeply shocked to note that eNCA cast a news item to the effect that President Lungu “collapsed” at a ceremony that was marking a Day for Women. The fact is that President Lungu had the courtesy to present himself to personally apologise for his inability to attend due to malaria illness. Thereafter, President Lungu walked to his official car unaided.

My advice is that eNCA should hire credible freelance reporters who are not tainted with dirty poisonous political mind-sets.

  54. Why having fatigue when he has done nothing to improve the social economic problems of the poor Zambians & he’s on record envying to start intimidating & crushing all those he illusionary deems to be anathemic to his primitive style of reigning & appointments! Careful Lungu,God’s children can not be crushed & equated to bricks. You may be the first one to be crush! The majority poor Zambians are really more despondent now than in Late Chief Balkaniser Tribalist Sata! No hope in all sectors of the economy & the Drunken Master Lungu is already tired & needs r to rest! Zambia will really regret for having a continuum of that flea circus PF in power! The majority poor will really feel it till next year campaigns period!

  55. LUNGU’S KIDNEYS ARE OPERATING AT 9%. LUNGU ANOTHER LIABILITY TO ZAMBIA. MORE SUFFERING IS COMING TO ZAMBIA. ZAMBIANS ARE PUNISHED BY HAVING WRONG PRESIDENTS DUE TO THR PRIDE. ZAMBIANS ARE PROUD FOR NOTHING!

    • This is stup.id! How does a sick president equate to a bad ineffective president?

I don’t understand the connection. Even Presidents become ill.

Some people making this connection here have PhDs. God help Zambia….a nation full of Pseudo intellectuals who can’t reason.

  56. There is no transparency in telling lies about Lungu’s illness. We all know the man is experiencing complications of diabetes and renal problems. Lungu is not an old person to be experiencing physical exhaustion every now and then. He forced his way to Presidency knowing very well that he was not physically fit and will pay the price for that. Just after taking over as president he went to CFB hospital and maina soko military hospital for medical examination and we were told it was all clear. The man is operating at damage limitation level, he needs to own up and tell the nation if he wants to instead producing lies about his health. The so called transparency is panicking knowing well what Zambians have gone through by having ill presidents.

  57. I have noticed with sadness that all those with negative writing were UPND supporters who still live with the pain of losing elections. Please, get your life and move on with your husband thief mo..reen. You still got 2016 to try, though do not follow statistics by a grade 2 costa from muvi tv. Any fool knew what they were up to. Ba Pres poleni bwangu musunge HH

    • @ Munkombwe, you are just like your PF minions don’t know that fatigue cannot be measured with any equipment…you are introducing the same subjectivity in concluding every negative posting here is UPND….you are such an illiterate blogger who cant even see beyond your frog-shaped nose….eco ulalila insala, your kids are underfed, morbid with running nose from worms and you are busy posting rubbish statements here…go and look for food and salaula….we mbwa we…!!!

  58. Final Fact Thought:

Edgar Chagwa ana gwa.Reason…was suffering from dehydration caused by hangover…afwile alikolwa saaana pa Friday

Solution: Take plenty of water, and with certified kidney and liver problem, he should just stop drinking altogether…

    Quick recovery mate!

    • @ Eating Edgar Lungu’s Teeth….I was about to blog that…khikikikiki….The problem with PF cadres is denying plain facts that are pure and simple…..according to PF illiterates, even Sata just died, he had no illness, and he was very health….uluse mwe!!!

Fact: No human being can collapse from traces of Malaria….Its hangover and dehydration, especially in the Heat like that of yesterday….so ba PF cadres, be objective….elyo naimwe ba UPND cadres, there is no decency in celebrating someone ‘s failing health…and to the believers, pray for good health of your leaders and ask God not to give you fruitless, ailing and dying id!ots as leaders…Mediocrity pa Zed!!!

  59. Now they will advise El to just do swearing in ceremonies at state house for the sake of his health. that is how inefficiency sets in.

  60. Another ghost president in state house-only in Zambia where mediocrity is more supremo over pro -activity & radicalism!

  61. Take it easy Mr. Pres when you feel tired do delegate better than falling in public. I may not be PF but wish you well because you are President for everyone in Zambia.

  62. Its pointless to even comment on this. When will we Zambians learn like other countries? Anyway, enjoy the consequences of your choices.

  63. Ndobo,1.5, you have made my day; ‘it is not possible to get malaria on Sunday’? Yes, there might be some truth in this, the charp might have had a serious hangover. His handlers must advise him to deligate some of these activities. Being a head of state, requires good timing and anticipate things properly. Don’t be carried away Edgar, you will end up being bruised.
