MMD has sent a message of good will and quick recovery to President Edgar Lungu. MMD President Dr.Nevers Mumba said Zambia being a Christian nation, understands the spiritual warfare going on in the nation and trust that with concerted prayer and support from all Christians, Zambia shall be saved from those whose intentions contradict God’s will for the nation.

He urged all Zambians to stand together to pray for President Lungu’s healing so that he can continue to provide the necessary leadership during this very challenging transition time in the history of our nation.

‘Our prayers go out on behalf of the President, his family and his government,’ Dr.Mumba said

  1. No no no prayers again. When you pray for a person, you are just assuming that he will not make it.
Yes Edgar is ill, but its not that he was attacked by female mosquitoes, his problem is from habits. Alcohol. He will definitely not die from low-sugar caused by hang-overs, even himself knows that. He used to have sweets in his pockets, but now as a president he can’t be sucking on sweets in public, hence fainting.

    • Also Pray for the ordinary poor Zambian lying helplessly in UTH because they can’t afford to be evacuated to South Africa

    • That’s the number one problem that the nation faces. When there’s a crisis, then we start talking about spiritual warfare and superstition. The very declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation does more harm than good. If our leaders are this superstitious, it is no wonder the current healthcare system is primitive, and the country continues to dwindle in underdevelopment. Fix the healthcare system, jump-start a resurgence of the economy, implement mathematical and scientific optimization techniques that will analyze the most cost-effective and efficient way to progress as a country. If the healthcare system was good enough, we wouldn’t need to be praying for Lungu. The doctors first said it was malaria, in Zambia everything is malaria.

  2. That’s the spirit of leadership, Dr. Mumba.
You are different from those who wait like Hyenas, for the death of other leaders for them them to ascend to leadership.
    You are the “Man.”

    • You will all get sick and die one after the other it is just a mater of time. No wishes good or bad can change that fact. When your turn comes no one can change it. Other wise some people would live for ever by good wishes and prayers they get.

  5. God increased 15 more years to Prophet Jeremiah when he prayed to God and we shall also pray that HE shall increase more years to our leader. that does not mean that he will never die but that God should increase more years to his life. God does not change he is the same yesterday, today and forever.

  6. We should pray for Zambians not to be voting to power for people who are already sickly.Telling people lies about ones healthy status because you want to die a president iS SIN.Its repentance which is required.

  7. Why is Nervers Sekwila Mumba not asking Christians to pray for the dying MMD? His party is in a coma right now but he seems to be unconcerned. This is the first time in the history of Zambia where a former ruling party is unable to participate in bye-elections.

  8. @?sante, who is on the wrong approach? We are not in Church issues, but politics, such platforms are meant to test the temperature of the mood of people partaining a certain event. Never pretend that you are holier than others. Dr. Mumba opted to go in politics and we expect him to act as such. Mumba must tell us what he is doing currently to keep balances and Checks regarding what PF is implementing now. These are the political parties that just come to life when it is election time, we do not need that are more interested in smooth rides on back of others. We all Know Lungu is Sick and we sympathise, but the party PF should be told under such circumstances where it is not getting it right. NEVER HIDE BEHIND CHRISTIANITY, EVERY ONE IN ZAMBIA CLAIMS SO, BUT WHAT THEY DO IS DISASTER.

  9. ARE YOU A PHARISEE OR SUNHIDREN WHO STAND ALONG STREETS TO BE SEEN THAT THEY ARE SO PRAYERFUL AND YET IT IS JUST POSING. GIVE THE MAN A JOB, HE HAS WORKED FOR IT FOR A LONG TIME NOW UNDER LUNGU. MMD IS BROKE TO THE BONE MARROW THAT THE PARTY CAN NO LONGER SUPPORT THE GENTLEMAN BUT TO CRY TO LUNGU FOR ASSITANCE, IN THE MEANTIME RB IS RIGHT THERE GUARDING THE GATES TO LUNGU.. LET US BE SERIOUS AS ZAMBIANS WE ARE JUST A BUTCH OF JOKERS. WE SHALL ALL FINISH, ESPECIALLY THE PRETENDERS WILL GO FIRST.

  10. I have seen some graders and other heavy machinery being moved to Embassy Memorial Park, could that be a sign that another state funeral is in offing? And Esther Lungu has already switched to black attire. Am deeply concerned. I have since gone on fasting to avert what is yet to happen.

  11. We shall also pray for you Dr.Mumba so that you give up politics(a field where you have lamentably failed) so that you can go back to the pulpit where you rightly belong.

  12. Good advice Mr. Nevers Mumba but I would also like to advise you to stop your obsession with Mr. Rupiah Banda. Mr. Banda will never come back to rule Zambia, ever. So stop having him as your imaginary enemy. Tell your Mbulakalima and Nakachinda to also stop this nonsense of always having press briefings to talk about RB. Its annoying and irritating. You all appear as frightened little men with such behaviour. Grow up and move on. Your party is dying and stop lining up for jobs with the PF. Why do you want to merge with PF when it has its own problems? You can resurrect MMD but you need to go for a fresh convention. It is said, you cannot put new wine in old wine skins. So go for a convention my brada. Stop haranguing Muhabi, Musokotwane, Mutati, Pande, Nyangu et al. Save MMD!

  13. I am not praying for nobody, I pray for myself. Who is Nevers to force people to prayer, prayer does not work that way. What did presido step on, it is himself who knows better what sins he has and is still committing. May thy will be done.
