The fuel shortage being experienced in some parts of the country has spread to Kasama town in the Northern province.
A check by ZANIS this morning found that all the three filling stations in the district have run out of petrol although two of them had diesel in stock.
However, Eugen filling station manager Chilrag Pathak told ZANIS that his company has completely run out of both diesel and petrol and that only kerosene was being sold to members of the public.
He said he has no information when the fuel tanker would deliver the fuel stocks because it is still stuck in the queue at Ndola Oil Refinery.
Mr Pathak has since appealed to the government to do something about the fuel shortage in Kasama so that the transport sector can continue to operate smoothly.
Meanwhile, all the three service stations in Kasama are optimistic of receiving their fuel stocks in the coming days as advance payments towards the procurement of the commodity have already been made.
Energy Minister Christopher Yaluma assured this week that the nation had sufficient fuel reserves and urged motorists not to engage in panic-buying of the commodity.
So what if it spreads to kasama? Finshi fyabako?
@jamakudi
ulichipuba; all over Lusaka filling stations have abbreviations on display; PF= Palibe Fuel
Is this the best brand of vehicle Kasama people can drive?
The Kasama Municipal Council management ought to encourage the operator of this Engen Filling station to do something about the poor quality of the premises. Looks pretty rough and unkept.
GOVERNANCE HAS GONE TO DOGS!!Fooliness and stupidity has overridden some groups of Zambians!! Because even when things have gone to the waist in our country, to them it’s normal!!! No one is excepted from this fooliness and the high cost of living!!
