Napsa Stars took reins of day one of the 2015 FAZ Super League season on Saturday with a 3-1 home win in their Lusaka derby clash with National Assembly at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
Napsa secured the win thanks to goals from ex-Zambia and Orlando Pirates striker Davies Mwape, Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Jean-Paul Simao and Keegan Phiri.
Mutale Mubanga scored Assembly’s consolation goal.
Napsa beat Nchanga Rangers to top spot on goal difference.
Fighton Simukonda’s cash-strapped side beat promoted Forest Rangers 2-0 at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola to claim second place.
Fashion Sakala and Spencer Ngalande scored in the 6th and 38th minutes respectively to steer Nchanga to second spot.
Forest meanwhile, were one of two promoted sides to lose in Week One.
Lusaka Dynamos too went down 1-0 at home at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka to Choma Eagles courtesy of a Chansa Katongo goal.
Nkwazi however, did not suffer the same fate and finished scoreless away in Mazabuka to tricky Nakambala Leopards.
