President Edgar Lungu says he will soon declare Senga Hill as a district.

Speaking at a public rally to drum up support for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Kapembwe Simbao for the April 14 parliamentary by-election, President Lungu said he has delayed his declaration to allow planners to demarcate district boundaries in order to avoid land wrangles.

The President revealed that experience shows that wrangles have risen after districts have been born out of another district mostly involving chiefs.

And President Lungu has also disclosed that Samora Machel Zambia Air Force base will be been opened for commercial and private planes to land at the military facility.

He said the move was meant to promote tourist in the area as more flights will enable more tourists to visit places such as Kalambo falls and Nkamba Bay.

Meanwhile, President Lungu has asked the people of Senga Hill to vote for the PF candidate so that the constituency can be developed.

He said Mr. Simbao must be given a chance to complete his five year term which was halted after the court nullified his election.

  1. The concoction he took this morning really made him to suffer a great loss of memory, he ended up kneeling on his knees begging the voters to vote for the UPND candidate , Mr Yambayamba. Even despite many reminders from his minister, he was completely in his own world. I wonder if he will manage up to 2016.

  2. voice of reason is the dullest individual in the universe. how could he/she believe zwd yellow journalism. I was at the rally, at no time did the president kneel. he is not a candidate for him to kneel for votes.

  3. IFINTU NI LUNGU 2016!!!this president is just splendid and he thinks a like late Sata!!watching him on TV adressing voters in Senga Hill in Bemba like Sata did made these voters feel very closer to ECL!!tribal HH cannot say anothing in our local languages apart from tonga and broken cinyanja!!!THIS IS WHY MASS VOTERS IN RURAL ZAMBIA CANNOT ASSOCIATE THEMSELVES WITH HH!!!am very sure that PF will win in Senga Hill,Chawama and maybe get Masaiti too.despite these upcoming loses, tribal HH will keep on dreaming about defeating Mighty PF in 2016,how?nobody knows!!!!!

    • Oh yeah Simbao was found wanting by the courts yet he is clean enough for the PF than the one that petitioned! The voters are being bribed with district status.

  4. We need visit the law. I now agree with Rainbow Party President on the case of people whose seats are nullified for malpractice. Kapembwa was supposed to be barred from standing. Petauke has no MPbecause of that but this newly nullified seat will have an MP the end of the week
