The Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming has said that President Edgar Lungu’s recent State visit to China was fruitful and that Zambia was yet to see more benefits from the trip.
He was speaking when a delegation from Nanjing municipal council in China donated 200 books to the Lusaka City Council (LCC) yesterday.

“China and Zambia enjoy excellent relations and they have fruitful cooperation. The recent one was the big event when President Lungu paid China a State visit,” Mr Yang said.

He said President Lungu and the Chinese president Xi Jinping discussed various issues in depth which would lead to many more co-operations between China and Zambia.Zambians will soon see many benefits from the discussions held.

Mr Yang said the areas that the two leaders explored were economic and trade as well as education and culture. On the education and culture front, there would be visits from Chinese delegations to Zambia. The Chinese Government through its ministry of culture had also come up with a policy to designate individual city councils to form partnerships with other councils across the world.

The Naijing municipal has therefore picked Lusaka to be the city to partner with for cooperation in various sectors. The Naijing municipal donated the books written in English about China to be used in the council libraries and brought a culture group to perform in Lusaka.

Naijing council deputy director general Zheng Ling Ling said she was looking forward to the LCC officials’ visit to China.Acting Lusaka Mayor Potipher Tembo said the three libraries under the council, were in a bad state due to theft of books by people and lack of space and shelves.Mr Tembo said the LCC was working on the challenges that the Lusaka, Matero and Chilenje libraries were facing.

This was because books still remained popular and relevant even with the coming of computers and the internet. The council was committed to improving the reading culture among the citizens especially the youths.Mr Tembo said the council alone, however, could not improve the status of the libraries. He was grateful to Naijing municipal council for their contribution.

  1. I wonder how much more we will give in return. Anyways they say beggars aren’t choosers. I just wish they could be more transparent with the “more” we are to receive.

  2. The Chinese are bigger invaders and thief’s than the British ever were.
lets give the Zambians 200 propaganda books for a few mining / farming leases, sounds like the 1890 with trade beads.
we must rid these slant eyed yellow people from our country before we become slaves to them.

  3. Africans must throw away the bible. It is poison that control them to grow, a self slavery trapped in the old master feet.

      Psalm 14:1-7King James Version (KJV)

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.

5 There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.

  4. 1 The [fool] hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Zambia is blessed of the Lord.
