Former President Rupiah Banda, yesterday was among mourners who visited the funeral house of Muvi TV journalist Priscilla Phakati who died in a road traffic accident on Tuesday.
The late Ms Phakati had two children with President Banda’s grandson Dalitso, who is Andrew Banda’s son.
The former head of State arrived at the funeral house in Lusaka’s Garden Township around 12:45 hours in the company of Andrew, Muvi TV chief executive officer Steve Nyirenda and general manager Costa Mwansa.
At the funeral house, President Banda consoled the mourners who included Dalitso and Ms Pakati’s grandmother Maureen Phakati.
He expressed shock at the death of Ms Phakati whose mother also died suddenly yesterday aboard a bus from South Africa as she was travelling to Lusaka to attend the funeral.

You mean they were not married? So Banda Dalitso should take responsibility of the children. Do Not leave the funeral house without the 2 children!

President Banda? Come to think of it, Lusaka Times is right since Rupiah, not Chagwa, is effectively in charge.

Hey kim ignorance is expensive so don’t display it anyhow. World over it is customary including in the USA to address former Presidents just as President.
Now let us not trivialise funerals. Let us mourn the Priscilla with dignity if we cared about her.
