ZAMBEZI Portland Cement Company has told its customers and the general public that the company is now under Antonio Ventriglia and Manuela Sebastiani and that they should ignore Mahtani.

In a statement, Mr Ventriglia said all cement sales would resume and customers would be expected to to deposit the money into the Zambezi Portland Cement account held at First Alliance Bank in Ndola.

Mr Ventriglia has since advised customers and the general public to the ignore the purported claim by Rajan Mahtani that he owns the cement manufacturing company, saying Zambezi Portland is rightly owned by the Ventriglia family.

He explained that according to the court order, the affairs of Zambezi Portland cement must be run by Mr Ventriglia and Ms Manuela Ventriglia which he said must be obeyed.

He said it was unfortunate that Dr Mahtani was claiming ownership of Zambezi Portland cement when the courts had ruled that the rightful owners of the company were the Ventriglias and wondered how a company could be run by two groups with opposing interests.

Mr Ventriglias said by claiming ownership of Zambezi Portland Cement Company, Dr Mahtani was undermining the rule of law because the court’s decision was in the public domain.

He has appealed to Dr Mahtani’s lawyer John Sangwa to advise him to respect the rule of law rather than encouraging him to disregard the court ruling, a situation which has potential of injuring Zambia’s conducive investment climate.

He added that some investors may find it difficult to invest in a country where they think their investment cannot be protected.

  1. This beats my small mind, you mean in Zambia 2 entities can claim ownership of a company without attracting contempt charges?? it looks like rule of the law has turn into rule of the jungle – the strongest survive!!

    • Sata is gone and they are back!!! Next will be the Libyans to come for Zamtel. It’s clear that Lungu never agreed with Sata’s decision, he is really doing it the opposite while carrying Sata’s name to appease the PF supporters

  2. Mahtani is a crook, never borrow money from Mahtani, else you end up in this predicament. He did the same to Mr Oldies with regards to money borrowed for the completion of the Hotel situated across arcades mall. Oldies was clearly warned but was too desperate for money to finish the project. Mahtani Is a ruthless lender and wants to take ownership of the project seems viable.

    • dont comment on issues that you dont understand, ask that same oldies infact odeseyee mandiakise about his and shikapwasha”s intrests, matani might have his flows but he is better than mandiyakise

    • I know both Men very well, possibly more than you do. I have first hand privileged information on the transaction. I have known Mahtani from Ndola in the 80’s and 90’s and have known oldies through my financial work in Lusaka. Mahtani takes advantage of desperate business men and corrupt politicians to cease property when loans are due. STAY AWAY From Mahtani loans and money.

    • its something to do with some house he grabbed from some then prominent man who is now back thru the back door..

  3. Mr Mahtani Rajan a self-confessed born again Christian with an insatiable appetite for grabbing other peoples properties.

I’ve a problem with short people regardless their race, tribe… Short people are a problem

  4. Those who know Matthan will tell you never to borrow from him if you have a viable project.
John Sangwa is a fraudster who with Matthan forged bank of Zambia Governor signature so if you expect unlaced counsel from a thief like Sangwa, you are in for rude shock.
This is why Lawyers in Zambia have lost respect from many Zambians. They are simply MBALA’S OR THIEVES

  5. While these guys are on each other’s necks, Dangote is not sleeping. Sooner or later that business (Zambezi Cement) will be a white elephant. Dangote will kick them out of business. Even Lafarge should re-think its business approach, as the man will soon embark on a construction project of another cement plant in the backyards of Lafarge

  6. Why does Lungu favour crooks in Zambia. A crook is a crook and will never change its spots. Does it benefit Zambian’s in anyway is what we should all be asking ourselves. When one has no vision or leadership skills is the result. Going by old ways that where practiced instead of new ways. The reason education plays a huge role.
