President Lungu

President Edgar Lungu has left for Solwezi in North- Western Province for a four day working visit where he will among other things visit victims of land mines in Ikelenge district.

President Lungu, who left Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) aboard his Presidential challenger plane at about 09:25 hours, was seen off by defence chiefs, senior government and Patriotic Front (PF) party officials.

The President is tomorrow be expected to tour Kansanshi mine, hold meetings with chiefs in the province and later hold a rally in Mwinilunga district.

And speaking to journalists shortly before his departure for Solwezi, Mr. Lungu said government was in the right direction of ensuring that it develops the country.

President Lungu said districts which assumed that status less than two years ago should not be expected to already have massive infrastructure development.

He explained that when an area is declared a district, there are sometimes wrangles pertaining to where certain structures should be positioned.

He said government would only move in with its development projects once such issues are resolved.

And President Edgar Lungu has said that government will continue engaging various political parties and stakeholders on the constitution making process.

Mr. Lungu said that he is always in dialogue everyday with political parties despite not convening a round table inter party meeting.

The Head of State said that there is need to move the constitution making process as a nation.

    • Yes they will come on board to joking PF due to hunger because they can’t sustain themselves. This is no longer new in Zambia

  2. Planning of districts should have been done before declarations or posting personnel to such areas leading to Mulusa weeping. Something is wrong with the way we do things in Zambia.

  3. Coming to Solwezi will not put food on tables, reduce fuel prices, stablise kwacha but just making more money for their pockets.
In other provinces where he had gone he had commissioned projects so let us see what project Lungu will commission in North Western as the school in Inkelenge was build by MMD?
Otherwise you are welcome to the land of plenty and honey.
The stone once rejected by builders becomes the corner stone of the building.
Bravo people of North Western.Never give up as we fight for our province brovo Chief Musele of Kalumbila.

  4. Ati bravo Chief Museli? I suspect @Sudan you eat tribalism everyday. is that a chief you can support sure? you are a backward fellow like that illiterate chief who is still primitive in thinking, instead of you encouraging people to go to school you and your chief encourage xenophobia against your fellow Zambians who are educated. shame on you and your chief, North Western P is blessed with brilliant minds like Chief Mumena not Museli who even contributes to the underdevelopment of the province. VIVA HE Edgar Chagwa Lungu the President for all Zambians!

    • @david, foetsak! What tribalism are u talking about? When u were talking about yo chitimukulu, who said u r tribal? Does commending one’s chief become tribal? Sies man shut up! Ala! Wanza weyi.

  5. It is a good move by a parent to travel to N/W for other duties as explained in the story. The only sad thing is, I wonder if he will make a difference by going there by road as opposed to by air.

In my own observation theres never been a president who has ever taken road ride to this place except by air if he has to connect to another district then helicopter becomes the alternative.

I believe if any president did take the risk of travelling to this place by road the road would have been better than thought.
    This is my own opinion.

  6. let the chap drive and feel what we feel. some of us are forced to service our vehicles every two months because of the bad state of the road.

  7. Zambians when will you see this guy for what he really is? We have come too far to allow this dictator to get any bigger!

  8. The only time I will have some regard for ECL is when he works on solwezi chingola road, mwinilunga road and township roads.
