The Zambian Voice has observed that despite the current economic challenges Zambia is facing the ruling PF still stands a better chance to win the 2016 general election.
Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says his organization has done a research in which it has established that presently there is no mood of change amongst the Zambian people.
Mr. Tayali says his organization conducted the research along the line of rail and traced no wave of change streaming up any time soon as the country heads to next year’s general election.
He says given the fact that the wave of change is usually spurred by the mood of people living along the line of rail, the Zambian Voice does not expect the peripherals opting to change government in 2016 either.
Mr. Tayali states that his organization is basing its prediction on how the ruling PF has also continued to win in Parliamentary by-elections.
He has told Qfm News in an interview that this means that President Edgar Lungu may come out the strongest contender in next year’s general election especially if his government manages to resolves the current economic challenges in the country.

As long as things don’t improve by Jun 2016 when parliament dissolves I can foresee massive disintegration of PF. Why are ECL’s major sponsors too mute. I mean why is Inonge, Kalaba, M Sata, Sampa, Kampyongo, Lubinda, Katema, J Kapata & esp Luo quite? Are they not the ones who ushered ECL into office? Tayali is right on this point. How do you expect lungu to over come the problems when he is still following a budget that was done last year. To be factual even if hh won the elections, he would still have been undergoing the same problems if not worse owing to the fact that pf holds 90% seats in parliament. it would be a mistake to change govt next year because that will mean extending the difficulties we are going through. I would rather wait and see what this lungu is capable of doing in one full term. Believe me even opposition leaders would take 3 to 5 years before development can be seen. Good example is levy. Had levy continued upto 2011 Zambia was going to see better development. I woundnt risk changing govt next year and hope you too cant.

The reason Tayali wrote this article is to try and counteract the mood for change in Zambia. It is a cheap gimmick which we all know.
