    • @Buck Teeth Lungu, you are a moron! I am Bemba and greatly offended by your careless remark. That said, we need to work extra hard to make people , especially in rural areas that Edgar and his PF have failed. We can’t continue with this PF mediocrity .Edgar , 2016 kayu babele

    • Viva PF and EL. The PF is taking development to the rural areas. You the LT bloggers are town dwellers. Us in rural areas have nothing to do with exchange rates, constitution, copper price, load shedding, etc. We just want to see the PF build new schools, hospitals, roads, etc

    • How do you vote PF with all these hardships brought by this useless party. I am afraid with the voting pattern in Zambia. You mean People are still happy with all these problems around the country? Why should Zambia continue suffering because of tribalism. I now see the reason why Lozis want secession.

    • I am not Bemba but find your remark offensive. The voters made their choice and it is their constitutional right to do so. I may not be a fan of the “ruling” party whose overall performance is lacking areas to give merit but if that’s whom they voted in good luck to the winner. Similarly for those who made a choice in Solwezi, congratulations are in order. An extra kudos to Solwezi for ignoring nyengelela that development only comes with voting in PF. The government has a responsibility to develop the WHOLE country period regardless of party affiliations of the people.

    • Thank goodness the electioneering is over.
Teddy in Solwezi West was assured of victory because of his issue-based campaign; Edgar Lungu & Inonge Wina’s campaigns were a failure.
PF’s Lubansenshi campaign was based on tribalism.

    • BACK TEETH LUNGU U HAVE NOT ONLY INSULTED OUR PARENTS BUT U HAVE ALSO INSULTED ALL BEMBA ELDERLY AND ANNOINTED MEN OF GOD.I CURSE U.U WILL NEVER GO ANYWERE IN LIFE UNLESS U KNEEL DOWN AND REPENT.WAT KIND OF PARTY ENCOURAGES TRIBALISM AND INSULTS?THIS IS WHY UPND HAS FAILED TO WIN ELECTIONS KOZ OF TRIBAL EVIL PIPO LIKE U.U ARE CURSED AND ITS BIBLICAL.READ EXODUS ON REPECTING ELDERS.

    • Iwe ci @Buck Teeth Lungu! I think you need braces for your teeth to keep your mouth shut. Zambia is the most urbanised country in Africa and its “tribes” are scattered all over the place. There is no place in this our 21st Century for sentiments such as yours. You are removing the factors that isolated, impoverished Luwingu makes its population afraid of change away from a ruling clique that is their only source of information. After the failed efforts of their independent MP they have no resort but to believe anything else and what better than from a ruling party hoping that will alleviate their poverty. Next time do your homework and eat all your vegetables! ST.UPID!

    • The country has been highly battery-charged. I mean polarized with +ve & -ve poles never ever meeting. In fact even a battery poles can be connected via wires to light a bulb. But why can’t UPND ever win a parliamentary seat in the North/East circuit while PF wins in the South/West circuit – Livingstone, Mulobezi, Mangango & Zambezi West?

The North/East is extremely tribal no matter the caliber of the candidate of UPND. Anyway what more do u expect with sayings like ‘UmuTonga / UmuLozi’ “tabakatekepo” or in 2011 pipo coming from casting votes uttering ‘mukwai ichipuba chesu natuchivotela’.

Lets hope the mining retrenchment will not be orchestrated to target South/West by virtue of their names just as electoral disfranchisement in South/West is on-going starting with NRC…

    • My message to all those who lost to PF for standing on UPND tickest is this; dont back down to pressure and stick to principles because PF will fail to deliver all goodies they promised people in those constituents.
Now is the time for you to devise a strategy to expose PF s lies by constantly reminding people of the promises PF made to them and let them show you how many PF will fulfill between now and the general elections. Tell the people that, the only way to win real favours from PF is to punish it at the voting booth for its ineptness, recklessness and rampant lies. Tell the people that once they vote PF, thats it , they will be forgotten as PF takes its attention other places its yet to conquer. Proof is out there that thats how PF works.
      How are PFs flagship development…

    • Continued.
How are PFs flagship development projects particularly the famous MUSHINDO and MAKASA Universities doing? When are they opening, its been a long time since they were launched.
Sata went round launching projects for electioneering , for which non has taken off or been completed despite borrowing huge sums of money.
People should be convinced that PF is good at delivering abject poverty and dismal and catastrophic economic policies.

      Vote UPND in 2016.

    • So far UPND has done really well in these elections by looking the % gains it has made in PF stronghold. While the PF has failed to capture significant votes from UPND strong hold despite the rampant vote buying and grotesque intimidation using police brutality.

      Here are the figures.

      Lubanseshi UPND – 25% PF – 49.2%
      Solwezi UPND – 75% PF – 24%

These simple statistics clearly indicate that PF ‘s days are numbered and will very soon be oust from power.

    • Where are the winners? Zambians of every type have to pay more for mealie meal and suffer the depreciating Kwacha!

The picture says it all! Look at those HAPPY TURKEYS! Do they know they have just voted for CHRISTMAS???????

  1. It took blood and violence for upnd to win in solwezi. Congratulations but this is just 8:1 . the backwardness of solwezi people has made you win this seat. This explains why the are behind in development .

    • I now believe whoever said baKaonde na ba Bakalubale baba kwati matako. Always remaining behind when others are voting for development. Mwanya we are going to stop the roads we wanted to give you. Utu matoka twenu tonse twalafwa. Mukalanina ingombe shakwa HH .

    • The people of solwezi have shown resilience and have shown they are able to move with the times. PF and state machinery came with lots of intimidation, tear gased women and children but we the people of Solwezi say enough is enough- we are moving with the party that has visionary leaders.Heap as many insults as you like on us but you know it and I know that PF is a disaster and have gone past their sell by date. Just look at the Kwacha, the load shedding ,the job losses….not even MMD was that useless.

  2. Too bad for good ma Mucheleka who came out a distance third simply because bembas can never vote for s Tonga led party! But hopefully this will put an end to HH’s unyielding obsession with the bemba vote. HH’s handlers should remind him that out of Zambia’s 7 official tribes, he has the votes and support of 5 of them (Kaonde, Lozi, Linda, Luvale and Tonga) yet he doesn’t think this is enough for him to form a government of national unity unless he receives the blessings of the bemba! Why this obsession with well known tribalists! Easterners are even more supportive of UPND but we don’t see HH obsessing over them the way he does over northerners! Awe HH uchinje! While you are busy chasing after the elusive bemba vote, you are neglecting your strongholds, don’t take people for granted…

    • @Drogba.. I completely agree with you on this one. HH must see that, even next year’s elections, he might not get a lot of votes from the Bemba land. But doesnt mean that he wouldnt become president. He must capitalize on his strong holds. This whole thing of always bowing down to the Chitimukulu like he is the only paramount chief in Zambia will cost him dearly. HH, you must treat all these Chiefs the same. We your supporters want to support you all the way, but get other regions to give you votes like Drogba has accurately observed. Like at how Solwezi gave you the thousands of votes. Get votes from East, southern, Lusaka, Central, Western, North Western, and part of Copper Belt. That should be sufficient for you to form Government.

Stop wasting resources on people who dont and will…

  4. This country is divided period. The politicians are to blame starting with kaunda. Today 8 months since Lungu became president has visited all provinces except barotseland he knows what he is afraid of. I cant blame lubasenshi electorates maybe they are seeing development through nepotism for jobs, corruption in awarding of govt contracts, regional development.

    • Go to Lubansenshi and see for yourself why the electorate there would rather vote for someone else. At this juncture their instinct was to move a little closer to the ruling party, regardless of what you urbanites think. Poverty, my friend, is a harsh companion. Don’t just blog without looking at the systemic factors that make people in your miserably but potentially rich country vote! Cheap tribal politicking shows you are not exercising your brain muscle to its potential – Oops! Did I say POTENTIAL AGAIN?

  5. Awa mwandi I give up on these bembas and northerners. They go home hungry and no electricity but still vote for proven failure (PF). I think northern and copperbelt should be segmented away from Zambia. We cannot continue like this

    • No need for northening, southerning, westerning, easterning or centralising anybody. (dont worry about my new found english words), politicians are the ones who are dividing the electorates. Otherwise us in the compounds we mingle and imbibe kachasu, lutuku, munkoyo, cibwantu together.

  6. Two universities in chinsali, in mongu today the place where sata went to do ‘ground breaking ceremony for useless stadium’ trees still stand tall. You expect those pipo to vote for pf.

    On your declared day of repentance, here is a to do list;
    1. Pf apologise for dubiously getting a consent judgement at 01
    2. Apologize for people of barotseland who are still waiting for your visit 8 months into your presidency
    3. Apologize for no constitution
    4. Apologize for blaming God for what is happening to our economy. Taking God’s name in vain.

    • @Jacob Zume, I like point 4. We still have people like Mumbi Phiri and Chama who refused to aplogize for the insults on the people of Southern province. Here is what the Lord Almighty says in His Word:

      Matthew 5:23-25King James Version (KJV)

      23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Please dont try and mock God with your call for prayers when you hate innocent people. God will never answer such prayers of people with double standards.

  7. No comment lest I am infected with tribal inclinations. PF is a country wide and nationalist party and should continue with the developmental agenda started in 2011. Let the Opposition enjoy the good roads for their campaigns so that they can eat the votes like in Solwezi. Ba Edigar please continue with the tours of North Western Province. Congratulations PF for winning Lubasenshi and UPND for winning in Solwezi, that is democracy at work as well as the good checks and balance posterity. 2016 outlook for PF is very bright

  8. I don’t understand you UPND tribalist tell me why should people vote for HH? .What has he done?? . He has never been an MP let alone a councilor. He is just using promisary words things he won’t even do , Sata was in government and people saw what he did as a minister. Tell me why should I vote for HH what has he done politically ??. Bravo people of Lubansenshi you were not hoodwinked by these tribalists

  9. Good for the newly elected in a few months both will have amassed property and wealth!

Unity in Zambia has been destroyed and nothing will restore it as regionalism has come to stay. No rhetoric will re-establish the unity once cherished as divisive elements have done a very good job and the CSO’s are not doing their job! I am sure even among themselves there is division! Lets now brace ourselves for self professed analysts on the results. For one I see that the electorate vote for a party and not an individual candidate. The parties are seen through regional eyes here then comes the tribal element! The PF and its members is the major culprit peddling/promoting tribalism and regionalism! The Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces have an electorate that is analytical and will vote basing on…

  10. The Loosers are PF. As a party in power with all the free resources where the president,VP & fist lady all tripping in and out at GRZ cost with all the Ministers who went there but still loose. They basically failled to do what they did in Mang’ango and Mulobezi because this time PVT was abit more vigilant. What worries me though is ECZ. To announce results for a bye election should really not take this along. The guys at ECZ, you are worrying us.

    • @Me
Don’t even try to console yourselves, UPND is just sympathizers vote on tribal lines! Mucheleka has been taught a lesson and let him shut up! He was the sitting MP in Lubansenshi and he only got a scanty 1300 votes. Let your GBM also drop the court case and see what will happen to him!
To the contrary, North Western has predominantly been anti PF and the vacant seat was held by the late MMD MP who hails from there. Make no mistake, its PF which is making serious inroads in areas it was never wanted. Do your analysis if you can! Come 2016, the outcome is already known, President Lungu will be addressing the Nation again at Heroes Stadium for another solid 5 year mandate!

    • @MylronLady just for your information, I am not a cadre but always try to give objective analysis, of course you may not agree with my analysis and I respect that. Northern Province is equally a PF stronghold so wants the fancy about Solwezi. If you want GBM to drop the court case, fine but why not ask the four UPND MPs who are hunging in there to also do the same? I hate bye elections because every time there is a bye election people are dying, they are teargassed, they are beaten we do not need them. I do not know where you are, I am in Kasama and I can tell you one thing. Northern,Luapula and Muchinga PF will have an upper hand in rural places, it will be tight in places like Kasama and Mansa. However, if the economic downfall continues, they will also reach a point where they will say…

  11. Looking at the results for Lubanshenshi for UPND, this is a very good result for them (from a PF stronghold, especially that it is only a 1:2.6 margin between PF and UPND). PF might/will have a tough time next year.

  12. The big question is, are the people UPND is capturing that popular and influential in their areas of incumbency as we have been made to believe? I wait to see what will happen in Kasama. Insulting the bembas will not help UPND but alienate them further away. Keep preaching the message of hope and eventually you may get some tangible results. Having so much hope by UPND of winning in the bemba land is like PF hoping to win in Itezhi tezhi just like Solwezi West.

  13. The opposition needs to come together starting NOW for the sake of the country rather than narrow partisan interests . NOT 3 months before elections! Nawakwi’s FDD and HH’s UPND would be formidable combination!

    • @KAULBALE, I hope you are nowhere near the government because you are the poison chalice that the country does not need right now. Let people decide for themselves. Now I understand why colonialists taught you to assassinate those that you didn’t want but who were popular with their own people. RESPECT!

    • Owe triablist nkhala chabe zzzzz don’t you know that the money building state of the art modern prisons in muchinga to chafe u thieves comes from the mines in solwezi.

  14. @Buck Teeth Lungu why do you bring in your sickening tribal talk here?. Who pays you to do that?. People in Lubasenshi as well as Solwezi have a right to vote for whosoever they wish, because that is democracy. You are sowing seeds of hate while enjoying in your foreign nest without caring about the people you left behind. Congratulations PF and Congratulations UPND.

  15. BEMBAS AND THEIR MULUNGU ANIKONDE SYNDROME! BOOT LICKERS, OPPORTUNISTS BEHAVE JUST THAT WAY, THAT IS HOW MOST BEMBAS PERCEIVE LIFE, UNFORTUNATELY. AS LONG AS WE STILL HAVE SUCH RETROGRESSIVE MIND-SET AMONG SOME OF OUR PEOPLE IN OUR SOCIETY, ZAMBIA WILL CONTINUE TO BE RULED BY INSINCERE LOOTERS AND CRIMINALS LIKE EDGAR LUNGU. LUBANSENSHI YOU ARE A BIG LET DOWN! YOU ARE THE GUYS WHO ARE KILLING OUR COUNTRY. SHAME ON THIEVES!

    • TRUTH U ARE AN ***** AND I BELEIVE U KUD BE LUCIFER SATAN HIMSELF.Y BLAME BEMBAS FOR YO LOSS?IZ IT THE BEMBAS FAULT THAT U HAVE FAILED TO CONVINCE THE ELECTORATED YOU EVIL SATAN.JUST LAST MONTH UPND WERE CELEBRATING THAT THEY HAVE CONQUED BEMBALAND AFTER WINNING A WARD IN KASAMA.SO WAT HAS CHANGED NOW U IDOTS.THE PF UNDER LUNGU HAS WORKED ON THE SOLWEZI/CHINGOLA ROAD AND Z WORKING ON SUM TOWNSHIP ROADS IN SOLWEZI,BUT HAVE LOST.HAZ PF BLAMED KAONDES.U *****S INSULTING BEMBAS ARE NOTHING BUT TONGA TRIBALISTS AND THATDS Y YO PARTY IS SEEN AS A BANTU BOTATWE TRIBE.WEN THE LOZIS VOTED FOR PF IN THE JUST ENDED BYE ELECTION IN WESTERN PROVINCE,DID U CALL THEM DULL?

    • U ARE A FOOL TRUTH AND I KNO U ARE TONGA WITH HATRED FOR BEMBAS.IF U DONT LIKE BEMBAS,I WUD SUGGEST U SHIFT TO HELL TO STAY WITH YO FRIEND SATAN.THE LOZIS RECENTLY VOTED FOR PF IN THE MULOBEZI BYE ELCTIONS,ARE U TELLING ME THEY ARE ALSO BOOTLICKERS?PF GRABBED 5 WARDS OUT OF 9 WARD IN WESTERN PROVINCE.ARE THE LOZIS DULL?BEMBAS ARE BALANCED AND THATS WHY UPND WON A WARD IN KASAMA RECENTLY.U HAVE NO TRUTH BUT JUST AN EVIL DOG.

  16. I see Northeners votes as being largely well balanced regardless of which party standing, that is why even UPND can amass reasonable number of votes. This is not the case where UPND is strong and it is just a matter of Wako Ni Wako. I won’t say where as this is for all to see and tell. If you have support along the line of rail, chances of you being regional are almost zero because all tribes are well represented and they interact very well

    • My friend Southerners go for quality. They persist on what they is of value no matter what others say. Its not only in politics but many other things. Ever wondered why they relatively wealthy compared to villagers in other regions? Its their belief for quality ndoda

  17. It appears these people in this area want the status quo of perpetual poverty and backwardness, so just leave them to rot in the opposition, chapwa!

    • PF had no MP in Luwingu. How can that be a status quo. Perhaps you want to give it a little time? Oh – and take a shower, it calms one down.

  18. Ala kabili ba Rainball Party, just a partly 200. I thought Rainball officials including the Past Newspaper has been telling us on popular they are. What happened WK?

  19. Congratulations PF, this is a warning signs for UPND come 2016 its walk-over again for PF. The current economic problems are not a creation of PF and Edgar but the world supper powers and Europe.

    • @pio you are right. The fact is that people in rural areas of Zambia are self reliant. They grow their own food, they do not know about load shedding, water etc. For them, what matters are good roads, hospitals, schools etc. With the increment of price of maize, that has added hope to them. That is why PF will still win even in 2016. This is time for opposition to reflect.

  20. GBM has been taught a lesson ! Bembas are not tribalists and congrats to the people of Lubasenshi….you are real.

To the people of Solwezi west too congrats ! However,NWP should know that UPND will never form govt because of their tribal tag.

  21. History is there to tell North Western province will always be in opposition, during KK and Unip, it was Adamson Mushala, in MMD and FTJ it was the same.

  22. There was no need for by-election in Lubansenshi its money wasted for nothing. Govt has to work whether in the opposition or not. They have a mandate.
Good luck you tried after all you were using own resources. I implore balanced public usage of resources to all candidates!!

  23. Dwelling on tribal issues is being still in the stone age years. People should appreciate that UPND has just got into places like Northen and Luapula provinces and this is a good sign. UPND should just now work hard and make their manifesto known to our brothers and sisters in the Northen Zambia. We are ONE people and NON is more intelligent than the other, it is just a question of injformation. INFORMATION IS POWER so goes the adage. Stop calling each other names, otherwise this country will drift further a field into poverty. We are a very sharp nation, we removed KK when we found it fit and we did the same for MMD, and all this calls for unity in the country devided we shall fall.

    • @ RASCO
I thought they did this during the January 2015 Presidential elections? Just admit that PF has never won elections based on tribal inclination but their seriousness to develop Zambia. But if you want PF to make this combination of tribe and development, we will do it and do it very well, come 2016, you will see! Enough is enough. Abana Kopala come from Luapula and Norther Provinces remember and they have infiltrated Lusaka very much so be prepared.

  24. 2016 will be very different as it is very clear that the UPND still believes in tribal politics as seen in Solwezi. If they strongly believe in tribalism, why cant we also do the same and show them something they have never seen before?
The truth is this, these UPND chaps don’t like Bembas and the Bembas must also react very firmly in the coming elections, why be nice to the devils?

  25. I dont understand y Tongas re looking at a speck in Bembas eyes, forgetting the log in their eyes. Tongas re the source or fountain of tribalism, just check their voting statistics nd pattern in January,so tribal. Upnd chaps praise mwanawasa for his governance style, but Tongas still never gave him a vote. Upnd, people re aware of your tribal schemes,It is almost impossible now for u to form government with these voting patterns.

  26. Good results for both pf & upnd, lets pray for peaceful campaigns ahead of 2016 elections, big up to mucheleka, let lubansenshi pipo judge pf on what they have promised to implement within this period and judge them in 2016,am seen mucheleka bouncing back in 2016, mr mucheleka u’re still in the race

  27. @ Rasca
You are a UPND tribalist and stop hoodwinking people of Northern and Luapula. In Southern you just vote for UPND candidates, why should other regions vote for you ? U will learn it the hard way in 2016.

  28. Promises have less impact on voters but practical actions always win votes. Am not Bemba but I was at KK sec sch in Chinsali. That place was the least developed district since independence. Kampwepwe was the man for them because of that kaunda neglected the people of Chinsali. When Sata created Muchinga province and Chinsali as its Provincial Hq, Chinsali has changed fast taking shape. People are very happy because they are seeing infrastructure developmeent they have never seen in 50yrs of this country’s independence. Do you think talking to them about the theories of how bad the economy is can change their mind to put in any opposition? Big NO. Politics of hate was created by KK in UNIP. Please don’t blame the bembas. Visit these areas and you will know why they vote for PF. I would…

  29. Buck Teeth Lungu, I wish I could get hold of you and smack sense in your dull head! Why are insulting all Bembas? Those Bembas who voted for opposition and independent candidate are all ‘stupid’? You are carrying a dirty mind in your dirty head!

  30. PF don’t call UPND a tribalist part leaving yourselves. If UPND cannot win in Luapula, Northen and Muchinga what does that tell you about PF! As a country we must accept that the problem of tribalism is amongst us and we should all work at removing this backward trend of voting on tribal lines in this day and age! We all have seen what PF has done to this country in terms of damage to the economy! it is unprecedented and yet my bemba tribesmen are still shouting ‘ifintu ni Lungu’! Can’t understand how some people manage to be so f00lish! Surely you are even witnessing first hand the hardships you are facing and you still go on to make a very stup!d decision! Akulaleni insala mwalibelela ukuchula! Some of us are not affected in anyway but we feel for you people in rural areas! Very…

  31. Just a simple analysis from these by elections;
    1) The voting pattern is still the same.
    2) Upnd has not done enough to appeal to people in pf strongholds.
    3) Pf is making gains in Upnd strong holds looking at the votes obtained.
    4) Projections to next year’s election; Its another 5 year mandate for PF and ECL.But this time I see the gap widening between UPND and PF in terms of elections results.

    • @La Liga – what our politics do not take into account is:
      1. You cannot insult your way to a voter’s heart
      2. You cannot break new ground by shooting yourself to victory
      3. You cannot force people to change perception by talking their preferred perception down.
Zambians have a lot to learn about politcking. It will only get more interesting as next year dawns…

    • @La Liga, your analysis is 100%. The gap will surely widen, for I see Easterners all vote for PF because there is no more MMD there and even in provinces.

    • Am not understanding the logic here. Lungu came in to power with a bunch of promises. What I know is that we are worse off after he came into power. How does the gap widen when people are suffering more? In my opinion people now understand that Lungu has zilch to offer and that little 1% he won by will be reduced to zero percent. You cannot have miners losing jobs in their thousands and expect them to still vote PF. Re-think your analysis and this time take into account the current situation with regards the quality of life of the Zambian citizenry.

  32. The country has been highly battery-charged.

  33. PF is not controlling Central Province. Go to ECZ website and see who won Central province, for info. it was HH in January 2015.Lusaka is changing as well.

Central province HH got 68074 PF got 53462

Lusaka Province PF got 178977 HH got 104178

Can’t you see the difference now

Results for 2011 election presidential for Lusaka province

PF had 224925 HH had only 45397

    Open your eyes and see

  34. Typical of RURAL VOTING PATTERNS.

They vote the nearest and in this case it is always the ruling party. I went to Lukulu in 2008 elections as an observer. I saw elderlies(husband & wife) coming to the polling station and asking us to direct them to vote on the portrait of the ruling party or else they would be arrested if they don’t do so. the husband was even shouting at the wife not to miss; lest they sleeping in cells.

  35. @Sponge bob & onetime

Both of the above bloggers have shown their hatred of tribes in North-western province.
When Edgar Lungu & Rupiah Banda used ”Wako ni wako” in Eastern province during the last Pres. by-election,and late Michael Sata’s call on ALL Bembas to vote for the PF,wasn’t that tribalism?
I think Zambia needs a statesman to lead it and avoid a tribal war.

  36. We need to double our effort as PF if we are to return in 2016 see the trend below:

    Camparisons of past results

  37. Add the numbers for Solwezi and Lubansheshi. Here’s what you get: UPND 10,235; PF 7,473. Who won overall? Watch the space.

  38. Sata is the worst experiment that this country ever made! All this tribalism is because of Sata who used his presidency to promote bembalism and bemba development at the expense of other tribes. Pipo were being fired from their jobs and being replaced by bembas without any sense of shame. Today all directors and PS in ministries are bemba. The 2015 overwhelming vote which non-bembas gave to HH was a revolt against Sata’s attempt to turn zambia into bembaland but bembas cleverly labeled it tribalism and it’s stuck. Tribalism is a bemba creation because they want to be superior to other tribes

  39. The police officers who tear gassed women and babies should be investigated as they are responsible for this wide margin loss. They decampaigned the ruling party at the very last minute. Who would be happy to vote for a party whose state machinery tear gases would be voters few hour before voting? Mind you the tear gas did not choose only UPND supporters but everyone, even innocent people were affected. The UPND win was an expression of anger vote.

  40. Northwestern province is a let down.President Lungu has clearly shown love to these people but its like they are too tribalists like their cousins in Southern. They will learn it the hard way in 2016.

  41. @peace maker,my brother your analysis is partially acurate. I say so,because the statistics of the previous election had certain elements or factors u ve not taken into accoount;1) upnd handle ample time to campaign
    2) They were already settled and ready
    3) They had favours from Guy Scot, who treated them as allies and not pposition.
4)They faced Edgar Lungu who was not incumbent i.e didnt ve state machinery on his side
    5) Pf had a issues with farmers;late payments.

The current economic challenges will be sorted soon rather than later so that wont crip into next year’s elecrions.Upnd is going to ve a fierce fight because this time,Pf is well settled with state machinery on their side.
Their infrastructure development agenda will surely unsettled opposition especially in most rural…

  42. Do not argue with the truth… Here is the demographic representation of contemporary Zambian party politics (Especially between PF and UPND). IF I will a UPND strategist, this is what I would be advising the machinery of the party to focus on in 2016…

    1. PF will win in; Muchinga, Northern, CB, Central (with some isolated victories for the upnd), Luapula, Lusaka and Eastern.
    2. UPND will win in; Western, Southern and North-western (with some isolated victories for the PF).

UPND will need to at-least get half of the total number of votes in 6 of the 7 PF strong-holds and aim to turn Central province UPND… (Therefore, they should focus all their resources on the above mentioned 7 provinces to stand a chance in 2016).
You can call me whatever names you want to, but this is the…

  43. Now who are tribalist batrose pipo and bembas ,batrose pipo change u mean u cant see all this development ecl has brought to yo area u thik u can change gvts like clothes but wether u change or not yo preffered presindent ll neva rule this country advise him continue bieng kachema.go ecl go.

  44. The electrolate have spoken. All your arguments are valid but never ever accept to turn it physical. It causes irreparable damage.

  45. IS THIS NOT NORTHWESTERN PROVINCE WERE CHAGWA IS CHEATING HIMSELF THAT ITS TILTING TOWARDS PF,WELL THE RSEULTS DONT LIE,THATS THE PERFECT RESPONSE TO CLAIMS BY BOTH KAPITA AND CHAGWA AND HIS GODFATHER RUPIA.

  46. Drogba, Mr. Intelligent, and Motomoto,
If you think this way, then UPND will never win a national election. According to the 2010 Census, these are population distribution in percentage terms: Central (10%),Copperbelt (15%), Eastern (12%), Luapula (7%), Lusaka (17%), Muchinga (6%), Northern (9%), Northwestern (5%), Southern (12%), Western (7%).
Clearly any person that wants to win in 2016 cannot talk exclusively in terms of Lundas, Kaondes, Luvales, Lozis, and Tongas ganging up against the Bembas. This is a sure recipe for defeat and not victory because the provinces these tribes hail from – Northwestern, Southern and Western – make up only 24% of Zambia’s population. In contrast, the predominantly Bemba make up nearly, if not more than, 50% of Zambia’s population. Apart from this,…

    • @Facts
But why are 3 provinces with only 24% in your misinformed view always give you electoral headaches i.e. 7provinces Vs 3provinces = 1% simple majority win for PF?
Remember even Sata who was extremely more popular than Lungu failed to capture 43% (only 42.5%) in 2011. Its impossible under normal circumstances for ECL to capture 80% of Sata’s 2011 votes! He is not as popular & things are bad!

  47. WHEN UPND LOSES PF HAS RIGGED WHEN IT WINS PF HAS NOT RIGGED WHAT NONSENSE.
HH AND GBM YOU WILL IN 3 PROVINCES AND PF WILL ALWAYS WIN IN 7 PROVINCES MARK MY WORDS

  48. Im a senior citizen and Kaonde. I’ve seen all governments since independence. I’ve noted one thing from my area that we have always opposed any sitting government and remained in opposition beginning with KK’s referendum (late sixtees), MMD, and now PF. What have we gained out of this? TOTAL UNDER OR LACK OF DEVELOPMENT. Why don’t we move with times and align ourselves with the majority of the nation by supporting governments of the day. HH may be a good Manager and not a Leader. Leaders are born but Managers can just be made out of a classroom with wonderful degrees and more often than not they cannot even perform. HH has not shown any ability to lead as he has never held any public or elective leadership position at any level in his party or anywhere else apart from the UPND…

  49. @TRUTH, MY DEAREST ZAMBIAN FRIEND, IT SEEMS YOU ARE STILL IN THE STONE AGE AND IN NEED OF KNOWLEDGE AS TO HOW THINGS ARE IN THE MODERN WORLD. BY THE WAY WHO LEND YOU THE COMPUTER YOU ARE USING? ANYWAY I CANT BLAME THAT PERSON BECAUSE CLEARLY HE IS AS IGNORANT AS YOU ARE……. UPND HAS HAD WARM EMBRACES AS FAR AS VOTING IS CONCERN IN ALL SECTORS OF OUR COUNTRY. FOR YOU TO INSULT A SINGLE TRIBE IS A HUGE TABOO AND AM SURE YOUR ANCESTORS ARE THERE GRAVES WITH SHAME FOR YOUR CHILDISH REMARK…. YOU ARE THE REASON HH WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT BECAUSE NOW AM BEGINNING TO THINK YOU REASON ALIKE… SHAME ON YOU. YOU IGNORANT PRICK

  50. There is nothing in insuilting each other .Remember its one zambia one nation, lets love one another and put God first in everything we ar doing .Zambia is a christian nation.

  51. HH does not have a national appeal for a leadership role and that is why he cannot win a national election. Mazoka had national appeal. Period. Problem is UPND keep pushing this square peg into a round hole and tragedy is I see them continuing to do so.

HH may be Saviour in the eyes of UPND echelons but as a nation we see an embittered man who blames everyone but himself for his losses. Real Leaders look within for causes and solutions fake leaders look for someone to blame – the Police, the Electoral Commission, the President, the ruling party list is endless.

  52. I have got a solution for HH to step into state house next year. Throw everything at CB and LSK. He should campaign vigorously in these two provinces and he will get away with it. Remember, had he done much better in these two regions in the January elections, this time he would have been in power. Baba HH, hammer harder on CB and LSK because as things stand, even the die hard PF followers who put their votes on Lungu are regretting due to the hardships currently facing the country.
