MMD leader Nevers Mumba has charged that there has been no reconciliation and repentance achieved after Zambia held the Day of National Prayer and Fasting on October 18th 2015.
In an interview, Dr Mumba has since described the National Day of Prayer and Fasting as a missed opportunity for the PF to unify the nation.
Dr Mumba said only Presidents Edgar Lungu, Rupiah Banda and Dr Kenneth Kaunda seemed to have used the occasion to reconcile.
He said the prayer and fasting was meant to do three things namely, to humble the nation before God, to repent and reconcile.
Dr Mumba however observed that the only thing that happened on the Day of Repentance was that the nation humbled itself before God and the President declared that Day a National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
And Ba Kambwili continued with his insults. The pf youths beating and harassing the members of the opposition has continued. – This was political gimmick, taking advantage of the blind following of the religious masses.

In fact the Day of Prayers has even divided the church.
Prayers are just wishful thinking, we keep telling you this & you keep clinging to Jesus who your colonial masters said has all your answers. Is repentance an easy thing to achieve? Does God always answer prayer immediately? What indicators are using to throw the baby out with the bath water?
Dr. Mumba, the nation expect you to be in fore front to preach patience. If there was not issue with you and Lungu, we don’t expect reconciliation. If you have any issue, please bring it up so that it is looked at in the name of recon.

The whole prayer thing was done in bad faith and when other people questioned it ba Mumba you were in fore front condemning and quoting the bible, te papa nomba. Start quoting the bible and cry to your god kaili. We really have a bunch of useless people in the country who always want an easy life. Ba Nevers, you being a pastor you know the Bible well, I MEAN THE WORD. If you feel there has been nothing achieved out of the 18th, I challenge you to start those reconciliations. We told you that the day of national prayer was not well intended and its puzzling for Dr Mumba to say people humbled themselves before God, people must humble themselves before God every day and meditate upon his word all the time, more so for a declared Christian Nation.
YOU NEVERS CONDEMNED THE PEOPLE WHO QUESTIONED THE WHOLE THING ABOUT PRAYER AND RECONCILIATION. WHAT KIND OF A HUMAN BEING ARE YOU!
