HH’s hope of becoming President is wishful thinking, says former UPND member

Share

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Province trustee Davis Kangwa along with over 200 members of the opposition party have defected to the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

Mr Kangwa described UPND president Hakainde Hichilema’s hopes of becoming President next year as wishful thinking.

Speaking when he defected to the PF in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Kangwa said Mr Hichilema’s bid for the presidency is wishful thinking.

He said President Lungu and the PF administration have laid down a solid foundation for developing the country.

“For those that have remained in the UPND, please come join us in the PF. Come join a progressive party whose fundamentals in fostering infrastructure development has paid off in the last four years.” Mr Kangwa said.

He wondered why opposition leaders like Mr Hichilema have continued to attack President Lungu over the slump in copper prices on the international market, which the head of State has no control over.

PF Lusaka Province chairlady Margaret Nguni, who received the defectors, said the new members have joined an all-embracing political party.

“I welcome you all to the PF some of you who held portfolios in UPND will be offered similar positions or other roles so that we can utilise your skills and strengths, “Mrs Nguni said

    • LT, be factual in your reporting. Where are the 200 defectors? When HH received the 2,000 you showed the world the pictures.

    • ZNBC SAID 40 LAST NIGHT ON THE 19 HOURS NEWS. SO WHERE DID THE 160 EXTRA COME FROM LOL. H H WILL BE PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA NEXT YEAR. FORWARD ZAMBIA.

  1. Davies kangwa and the group, enjoy that money but be wise whn it come to voting, look at your neighbor and ur clan if they are happy and not in poverty.

  2. HH is the man for 2026. Pf has messed up the economy and will be voted out no matter what tricks it may use. Everyone on the street is saying ‘things are not ok and pf must go’

    • HH to become President in 2026,anyway, your prediction is not my prediction and my prediction is not your prediction, but i totally disagree with you. As far as i`m concerned,if HH fails in 2016,then forget about 2026.

    • @ osadabwa

“HH is the man for 2026”! If indeed he will still be there after 2026! Its the same HH in his desperation to be in the corridors of power who with his fellow thieves have been hiking the price of goods unnecessary. Everyone knows the schemes of HH and UPND and thats why we will escort him to the grave in 2016 and erase his from the political landscape of our beautiful country.

  3. We’ll never hear about/from you again Mr Kangwa, PF are done with you, in short you’re now as useless as a used toilet tissue , Mr Chama’s phones will now be constantly be busy. My advice to you is that put that k1000 you’ve been given to good use, buy medas of kapenta and start kantemba. Epo mpelele mukwai, ciao!

    • Wishful thinking!! Theres no driver on the driver’s seat!! Its on auto pilot – the scavengers have bolted and the economy has started crashing for the whole nation!!

  4. We never head of this Davies guy. He comes out like a replica version of one useless Chama. Any relationship those of you who know this guy please?

  5. People thinks only on their pockets they dt think for other who re suffering it’s a sin to be bought and support the failiers u re like judas isacaliot mr kangwa u will get suprise in 2016 UPND & HH will form goverment

  6. Even in exam time, a pupil that is not sure ends up choosing a wrong answer. You are a visionless group that is not sure what good should be done for zambia. The majority have learnt a lesson for poor choice in January 15 and will vote for HH.

  7. KANGWA UNAOSHE CHUAYI MWATA.THIS HYENA HAS MADE PIPO IN NWP STGNAT THEY CANT MOVE A INCH. HH HAS TAUGHT THEM BEMBAS STEAL FROM THIS AREA.THEY ARE STEALING YOUR COPPER & GOLD TO DEVELOP CHINSALI. WHY DOESNT HE MENTION CHOMA ALSO WHICH IS BEING DEVELOPED AS A PROVINCIAL,BUT JUST TO MAKE PIPO HATE EACH OTHER FOR HIM TO GAIN VOTES~ONE THING IS HE MISUSED HIS CHANCE WHEN HE WAS WITH SATA THIS TIME HE WOULD HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT BUT BCOZ OF PRIDE,SELFISHNESS,IMPATIENCE,SATA FAILED TO WORK WITH HIM BCOZ HE HAD NO QUALITIES OF A PRES.CALLED HIM UNDER FIVE.UNITY ,LOVE,TOLERANCE,FORGIVENESS,SHOULD BE PERIORITY IN ZAMBIA.ECONOMY,DEVELOPMENT ARE DONE BY TECHNICAL PEOPLE NOT PRES.ONE CAN BE EDUCATED BUT CANT BE A GUD LEADER.THIS IS WHERE WE ARE GOING WRONG ONE BECOMES A GUD BUSSINESSMAN,GUD PREACHER,GUD…

  8. Mr. Davies Kangwa, any sane human being is expected to have ambitions and have aspirations; it’s therefore not wrong for HH to aspire to be Republican President. Are you telling us that God has appointed certain individuals to approve who should aspire to President? Just enjoying chewing with your newly found friends and don’t embarrass yourself.

  9. Mr Chama just leave, you don’t have to talk smack about your former boss. besides this looks like a staged defections and you receiving a brown envelope for your act. We looking for answers to our problems already you are finding excuses.

  10. These are the tricks of a dying horse. Imagine mealie meal costing K85 in Mumbwa which is an agrictural area what more in western, north western or Luapula? The high cost of living is suffocating many Zambians. Politics of stomach will not count in next year’s polls. HH 2016

  11. But ba kangwa bena kuwayawayafye.if u re man enough why calling for an innocent people to follow a blinded person like u?PF ve put Zambia on a world map with a record of poor economy but foolish people like u re busy appreciating for nothing. Mind u ECL will never offers u any position in government unlike u re thinking because it’s like u re telling the President to say nothing positve u can add to the party, currently the president is in need to work with people who can help him with ideas related to the economic crisis resorve…….shame on u foolish father

  12. Keep on cheating yourselves you pathetic fools. Right now buses are not operating from Kitwe to Kalulushi due to pathetic fools stupidity. Dont even cheat yours selves that copperbelt is yours. People have already gone for HH and UPND, they are going foward including my self kuya bebele ba kolwe mulemwenako.

  13. HH president of Zambia?
That would be the first time in the history of this country for an opposition leader to become president without his party having an established branch in Luapula and Copper belt and Northern provinces.

    • Let them continue dreaming! If MMD with well defined structure are dead and buried, I really laugh to imagine that one province can produce a President in Zambia, and HH for that matter. Yes his tribesmate will certainly vote for him but the rest of the 9 Provinces will vote for President Lungu and PF. I have just been touring Zambia, UPND has absolutely NO CHANCE, FORGET IT. DEVELOPMENT IS ALL OVER in the country including SP.

    • @UFO. Ati “Development is all over the country…”. Don’t have a myopic view of “development”! You equate “development” to roads! It is much more than that. Any government has an obligation to build infrastructure like roads. It is wrong for Govt to seek credit for doing what we are paying them to do. Their job is to manage the economy of the country to ensure growth and employment for the citizens. PF has failed on that score, so they cannot talk of “development …… all over the country”.

  14. Ninsala? if U guys in opposition dont value your role and begin to join pf, who is going to do checks and balances? equally focus shud not just be plot one and am sure HH and the upnd or undp whatever they call themselves ar not destitutes, they ar only offering a service to the nation

  15. Wanzelu is Larry Mweetwa from Macha at Simulangu village near Macha Girls Secondary school. Larry Mweetwa is a useless chap.

  16. Ba Davis Kangwa, it is people who WILL decide who their next president is, not you or even ECL. I find it strange that the people talking about ‘tribalism’ constantly are the PF. Be assured that Zambians will not vote on tribal lines, but only on the basis of delivery by the ruling party. Those who think making roads is the same as development, please, we do not eat roads. The money spent giving contracts to cadres could have been invested in productive sectors such as industry & farming. As things stand now, will those roads pay back the Euro bonds?
PF has failed. We will try HH for now, thank you. By the way, Iam from Eastern Province, where those who are currently failing to run government are from.

    • @silencer. It is sentiments like yours that prove that the so called “..Day of Prayers..” was just a political ploy to portray Lungu as a “..christian President..”. Boss, such tricks will not work. If your prayers were really true, we would see a bit of humility and less pointing of fingers at others. Let PF introspect and look at its own failures and make the necessary corrections. Pointing at others will not do. You are in the driving seat! Perform or leave the seat. We will vote for HH despite what you say. Your own failure to govern are driving us into his arms.

  17. Comment: Leadership is not self proclaimed this is one thing we should not forget. 2016 votes will go to a leader who tries to fight for his country, who is proven for good and determined spirit of endurance. Fighting for your country does not mean when you are in power or by defecting from your part to join the opposition because of realism. It is our vote that will decide who will lead the country. When you defect today its not the final result that one has lost, for we have personal reasons for that, and the general one is poverty. At the end you judge who is able, who has proven leadership characteristics and can lead our country forward?

  18. Some of these people have no brains! Zombies through and through. What will you do with that K10,000 bribe? You decided to through the rest of the suffering masses under the bus for own selfish reasons? You shameless zombie! Viva HH !
