Matero Patriotic Front -PF- Member of Parliament, Miles Sampa says he will back President Edgar Lungu in the 2016 elections.
Mr. Sampa says he will remain loyal to President Lungu because he is doing so for the country and the ruling party.
He told a Media briefing in Lusaka on Friday that it is unthinkable for him to leave the PF when President Lungu has shown so much love to him and many others in the party.
Mr. Sampa said those alleging that he wants to form his own political party just want to distract the President from concentrating on dealing with economic challenges.
He said the PF shall remain united and that his mission is to help President Lungu organise the party ahead of 2016 election.
Mr. Sampa also refuted reports that he has been having clandestine meetings with named persons.
And PF Secretary General, Davis Chama said those peddling lies against Mr. Sampa want party members to rise against each other.
Mr Chama said that after having a conversation with the Matero lawmaker he saw it fit to call for a press briefing so that the nation understands that there are no perceived divisions in the ruling party.
Mr.Chama said that it is his duty to ensure that the ruling party is united and organized in order to remain in office beyond 2016.
Mr. Chama said people should not believe those peddling lies against Mr Sampa because their mission is to destabilize the PF.
A number of PF members have been calling for Mr Sampa to resign from the Party after he resign as Deputy Minister of Finance.
OK. I think Sampa knows that causing a by-election is not in the best interest of the country. Let’s wait and see how events pan out towards the general elections especially after dissolution of parliament.

In politics, timing is everything. Sampa is not going to make a move now. He will wait when the general elections are nearer to truly announce his intentions.

It is simple. Miles is the preferred candidate for the founder members of the PF who also happen to be Bemba aligned and understandably anti MMD and UPND. However this will cause serious divisions in the PF which will automatically propel the UPND into power in 2016.
If you do not understand the dynamics, both PF and UPND have respective bases of Northern and Southern. Neither can win unless they wrap the Eastern Province. Lusaka and Copperbelt are actually toss up currently PF-leaning.

Ganja man, I wont even talk about Davies from Kabwe and over issues we currently have no control about Bemba or not, we have issues like getting our people to be well informed, poverty etc, these issues are beyond Miles and Davies and we have talent simmering in the background that can solve these issues. They dont just have a voice probably due to fear factor or are not interested in public discourse. The question is how do we use them? If we can utilize these people correctly, then those who think Miles and Davies are an issue will begin to focus on more important issues and get to the main stream and look at life through the window and not the key hole.

Mano Mambulwa – I also remember that very well and have always thought that if Sampa was involved in that case, he must be a very foolish man to think that he can jump the gun. With Edgar in charge right now, Sampa should put his tail between his legs and consider himself lucky. Miles Sampa is a frustrated man. The truth of the matter is that newcomers have been offered full ministerial positions whilst the man (Sampa) who claim to be the founder of PF has remained a deputy minister. Even Ba Lungu has not treated Sampa well. He cannot appoint the likes of Kapembwa Simbao, Dora Siliya, Grefford Monde, Siamunene, Margaret Mwanakatwe etc. as full cabinet minsters or rather the boss of Miles Sampa. Its a joke in the eyes of Miles Sampa.
Most people are not aware that Sampa opted to resign out of frustrations. On the other hand is regretting having left the position of Deputy Minister owing to the comfort that comes with the position worse being relegated to the back seat in parliament.
Finally he made a painful decision.
