Government has revealed that no Zambians have been caught up in the terrorist attacks in Paris which have left almost 200 people dead.
Foreign Affairs minister Harry Kalaba says he has continued to get updates from the Zambian Ambassador to France who is based in Paris.
Mr. Kalaba has since emphasized the need for Zambians to always register their presence with the country’s missions abroad every time they travel.
The Minister says this is vital for the missions to easily take stock of the welfare of Zambians in the respective countries hence addressed parliament on Friday over the matter.
He said government is saddened with the terrorist attacks, saying loss of lives in such a fashion is barbaric and unacceptable.
Mr. Kalaba says it is sad that the terrorist attacks have happened at a time when the world is preparing for a Conference Of all Parties -COP 21- a Climate Change Meeting in Paris.
He says climate change is real as evidenced from droughts and scanty rains.
