Government has reaffirmed its commitment to creating more than 500, 000 jobs by 2016 through the industrialization and value addition strategies.

Republican Vice President Inonge Wina says in order to achieve this, government is open to ideas and best practices of incentivizing the upcoming women and youth entrepreneurs so that government can create more jobs and wealth and consequently deliver on the promise to the people as outlined in the Patriotic Front Manifesto.

Speaking during the opening of the 2015 Zambia Entrepreneurship Summit organized by Women’s Entrepreneurship Center of Resources, Education, Access and Training for Economic Empowerment (WECREATE) dubbed Accessing Good Ideas, Accessing Financing, Ms. Wina says she is delighted to see various financing options that are directed at accelerating Business Development for Entrepreneurs.

in a speech read on her behalf by commerce, trade and industry minister margret mwanakatwe, Ms. Wina says government is committed to supporting innovative businesses and social solutions, especially in priotize areas and social-economic growth such as agriculture, tourism, Education, Health, Infrastructure Development among other things.

She says there is need to lay a strong foundation in innovation and entrepreneurship development to take Zambia to a developed country by 2064.

Ms. Wina has disclosed that government is considering re-looking at the whole approach to empowerment funds being administered by the ministries of commerce, Trade and Industry, Gender, Agriculture Youth, Sport and Child Development and Community Development and Social Welfare, with the view of harmonization and more importantly, up scaling and redefining training for applicants.

She has since challenged WECREATE Zambia Centre and the United States Embassy in Zambia to forge Links with all stakeholders both from the public and private sectors in the National Entrepreneurial ecosystem and structure a permanent national platform of the Zambia entrepreneurship summit which will be part of the Zambia’s calendar in the Celebration of the global entrepreneurship week which runs every week in November.

And speaking earlier US Ambassador to Zambia Eric Shultz says Zambia has great economic potential which young entrepreneurs should tap.

Mr. Shultz says entrepreneurs will lead Zambia from reliance on aid to prosperity through business and trade.

He says he has been impressed and energized by the young Zambian entrepreneurs he meets and urges them to continue.

And WECREATE Executive Director Nambula Kachumi has called on government to address the factors which will accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship and consequently impact on the much desired transformation of Zambia into developed country.

    • Does this stup!d woman think Zambians are all as stup!d as she is?

Or is she just a Chinama case?

Maybe she meant to say LOSE 500, 000 jobs

Can we Zambians really tolerate such rubbish and incompetence to be in charge of our Country?

She needs more than being kicked out. She needs to be BE LOCKED UP. She is a danger to the Nation!

  1. IT MEANS THAT YOU DIDN’T HAVE A CLUE ON CREATING THE 500 000 JOBS AT THE TIME OF ANNOUNCEMENT. IT IS JUST NOW THAT YOU ARE LOOKING AND WAITING FOR IDEAS ON HOW TO CREATE THOSE JOBS AND YOU ARE VERY CONFIDENT THAT THOSE JOBS WOULD BE CREATED NEXT YEAR! WHAT A STRANGE AND FULISHI WAY OF REASONING!

    • MANO MAMBULWA
The old cow actually says the jobs will be created by 2016.Technically within this month and next month.Ifintu ni Lungu.
Fact is you can give these *****s even 10 years and they would fail to create 10 000 jobs.

  2. This woman is living her dream and unfortunately she cannot separate rhetoric from reality. Just today we learn more than 4000 people have lost their jobs and she can shamelessly claim she is committed to creating jobs. Just what is wrong with these PF i*****s, they are clueless and cannot make informed decisions. We poverty will increase in the country whilst these pigs are getting fat and giving promises. This rhetoric from PF will never stop until they are kicked out of govt, we are worse than we were under MMD! Retrogression in high gear.

  3. Hahahahahaha!!! I have never seen nor heard such comedy in a long time! PF Govt “committed” to creating 500,000 jobs by 2016. hahahahahahaha!!!!!

  4. Were are our PF kaponya caders in the blog ??? Can you pleas refrain from taking cover and explain what and how your PF will be creating those jobs?? Ifintu ni lungu ka.

  5. By 2016????? There are now 28 working days until 2016! So how many jobs per day will be created through this amazing new strategy of being “open to ideas”?

    • How many new Ministries must Lungu now create to provide 500,000 jobs?

Clueless incompetent bunch of LYING THIEVES!

Can Zambians really accept such rubbish? They must be the stup!dest people in the WORLD if they can accept such crazy nonsense from a VICE PRESIDENT!

In any other country the people would storm their offices and physically kick these idiyots OUT.

  6. This woman is going gaga! I wonder who the hell writes them these speeches. It is clear we have people with rotten heads and have stopped thinking and still sticking to their myopic lies. 4000 jobs have just been lost on the Copperbelt and this stiff neck can just utter such nonsense. This mockery to the people losing their jobs. Or was she trying to give some to helpless?

  7. Problem with PF leaders, they have buried their heads where the sun does not shine! They see growth even when the country is serious decline!

  8. Its time to for the old lady take some rest now. My advice to her is that you have run your political race and danced your career tune enough…its time to retire and look back at the past, otherwise young people will disrespect you very soon.

  9. Ma rubbish, people are losing jobs and are you are still day dreaming about 5000 jobs, were are you going to create those jobs when you can’t manage the affairs of the country. Please be realistic with your lies, its pathetic.

  10. What a stupid thing to say….and those words are coming from our VP! How are we supposed to have confidence in leaders like that???????

  11. Imwe ba Mama Wina PLEASE!!
What narcotics are you on?? You cannot even save fewer mining jobs on the copperbelt, & you are “bwetukaring” about creating 500,000 new jobs.
It just puts your overall judgement in question, & again proves that you, & your Government are not fit for purpose!!
