Today’s Message: Avoid Strife

Share

bible
Today’s Scripture

“It is an honor for a man to cease from strife…”
(Proverbs 20:3, KJV)

Avoid Strife

Strife is a very destructive force. It can creep into relationships by starting small, maybe through a comment or a wrong look from someone, and it can then escalate into something much bigger. But when you choose to cease from strife and overlook an offense, you are acting honorably, and you are honoring God.

How do you avoid strife? Scripture tells us that love covers over many offenses. Love gives people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe someone was short with you at the office, but they may also have a loved one in the hospital. Instead of getting upset, walk in love—be patient, be kind to them. Extend grace.

Today, look for ways to walk in unity with the people in your life. When we walk in unity, there is a commanded blessing. Always avoid strife and choose peace and watch the hand of God move mightily in your life!

A Prayer for Today

“Father, today I choose Your ways. I invite Your plan to unfold in my life. Help me to avoid strife so I can walk in peace and unity and honor You all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

WHAT KIND OF A USELESS GOD SHE PRAYED TO THE WHOLE NIGHT THAT COULD NOT PROTECT HER WHEN SHE NEEDED HIM

WHERE WAS THAT USELESS GOD WHEN SHE NEEDED HIM

  3. God doesn’t feed the hungry, he doesn’t heal the sick, he doesn’t save us from natural disasters, he doesn’t physically do a damn thing to earn his keep. God is a useless thought that is promoted by the rich and con artists looking to get rich. God is just a dream, and for the destitute, maybe a hope that never becomes real. Is the thought really worth anything more than a method of controlling those who have nothing?

For the most part, we live, communicate, travel, experience, interact with life due to science. I am amazed that anyone would pick god, who doesn’t do a damn thing, over science, which works for us every second of every day.

  4. I want to know the thoughts of God the rest are just details – Albert Einstein. If the greatest scientist who ever lived believed in God who are you *****s.

    • Every sane person on the planet knows right from wrong without needing a religion to tell them. It’s a natural instinct of all animals and probably the only remaining animal instinct in humans that is beneficial. In many cases religion only alters and blurs what is right and wrong. Killing is wrong, but killing in the name of god seems to be okay. History and present day prove that to be true. Many religions enforce these altered ideas of right and wrong with blind faith and self-righteous attitudes, which in turn, creates more problems pertaining to ethics and morals. I firmly believe the most ethical and moral human beings are the ones who know right from wrong and also have no affiliation to any religion

    • Morality is doing what is right no matter what people say, Religion is doing what people say no matter if it is right or wrong. Senseless violence, countless wars, ungrounded hate are just some of the many negatives religion has caused.

    • Religion was used to scare people into being moral but through education and strong economic structure religion is unnecessary and we see this in the declining numbers of the religious in more educated and affluent countries.

  5. Religious people aren’t always moral. Atheists/Humanists and other non-religious people have morals.

There are many people who are Religious, but instead are not moral. Conversion is not moral, it is a sin as it breaks respect. Pride about religion is not moral, many other people have different religions, or might not have one. I now some religious people that actually watch inappropriate things. Religion is just a made up word for power.
