Davies Chama offers apology to people whom PF may have offended

Ruling Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama has unreservedly apologized to the Zambian people whom the PF may have offended during the course of running the affairs of the state.

In an interview with Pan African Radio news reporter Hermit Hachilonde, Mr Chama asked the aggrieved parties to find it within their hearts to forgive the ruling party for any aggravation caused in their lives.

He explained that to err is human and to forgive is divine saying the ruling party is composed of human beings who are bound to make mistakes.

The PF SG noted that his party may have made mistakes not out of their own volition but did so unknowingly.

He has further asked Zambians to give the PF the benefit of the doubt by giving them another chance to more time to fulfill their 2011 campaign promises.

Mr Chama pointed out that it is not realistic for any party in Government to deliver on all its promises within one constitutional five year term.

SG Chama has however assured Zambians that his party will realize all development projects that it is undertaking across the country before the August 2016 general elections.

And Mr. Chama has pledged that in the spirit of enhancing democracy and upholding the country’s constitution, the PF led Government will be committed to promoting and respecting free speech as one of its resolutions for this year.

He said the ruling party will ensure that the democratic space for citizens to express their views on issues of national importance is guaranteed regardless of their political persuasions.

“If we work together, as a united people and we come together, we put our heads together, let’s respect the views of other people, they maybe in minority, we maybe in ruling party, our resolution this year is to respect the views of the Zambian people, and to make sure that we work even harder as a party in Government that this remaining one we are remained with before we finish our five year mandate, we complete the projects that we embarked on from what we promised the Zambian people from the manifesto that we launched in 2011. I know we may have made mistakes in the past, on behalf of the party, we tender our apology and please understand that it is not an easy journey, and we are appealing to the Zambian people please continue supporting the PF, PF is here to work for you, to transform and to develop our country,” Mr Chama said

Meanwhile Mr. Chama has observed that Zambia is still underdeveloped because of few greedy individuals who have amassed wealth for themselves.

Mr Chama said that given a chance to preside over the affairs of the nation they will loot more resources than ever before.

The outspoken PF SG further observes that some people that have being elected are not worth the salt due to their insatiable appetite for power and propensity to divide the country thru their alienating utterances.

Mr Chama reiterates his earlier position that it is incumbent on every Zambian citizen to promote peace and unity across partisan interests if Zambia is to be a better place for all.

“Political environment, sometimes it has been quiet saddening, especially when I look at some leaders who have been in leadership before, some have been ministers before, but when you hear their language and their tone of speech, it is very saddening, very divisive, it is very insulting and I have been looking back that these are the kind of leaders that we have elected and no wonder we have not developed, because I think we are not electing leaders, ” Chama said.

    • Reserve that apology until August 12, 13 somewhere there when PF is kicked out of power. meanwhile it is Chagwamustfall.

    • Friendly reminder: you’re not the only one who holds a voters card in Zambia and besides that majority of the bloggers are in diaspora and hence don’t participate in voting. I just want to let you know that I’ll vote for the PF and so many other people who appreciate the unprecedented infrastructural development currently taking place in our country and do understand the genuine reasons why the economy of Zambia is in it’s current state.

    • In politics “timing” is very important. This so called apology is too late. Besides its not explicit it’s either you are opologizing or not; you can’t be in the middle bwana…Whom are you apologizing to? And for what in particular? In the meantime its UPND all the way, viva HH

    • This is exactly PF bandits!

Chama yaps that “Political environment, sometimes it has been quiet saddening, especially when I look at some leaders(of PF) who have been in leadership before, some have been ministers before, but when you hear their language and their tone of speech, it is very saddening, very divisive, it is very insulting and I have been looking back that these are the kind of leaders that we have elected and no wonder we have not developed, because I think we are not electing leaders” and this is what PF is, visionless!

    • Fake, fake, fake!!! What nonsense is this full of justification and blame shift? It would have been better for him to remain silent than this mockery..

Listen to this, “Davies Chama has unreservedly apologized to the Zambian people whom the PF MAY have offended during the course of RUNNING THE AFFAIRS of the state”!!! Really!!

Here is another mockery, “Political environment, sometimes it has been quiet saddening, especially when I look at some leaders who have been in leadership before, some have been ministers before, but when you hear their language and their tone of speech, it is very saddening, very divisive, it is very insulting and I have been looking back that these are the kind of leaders that we have elected and no wonder we have not developed, because I think we are…

    • Is this not the fear of what has been reported of him castigating EL with Mumbi Phiri. A lot did he say in that telephone conversation of which he sounds like befriending UPND since he sees PF heading for a loss in the coming eletions. Lets watch and see.

    • …”but when you hear their language and their tone of speech, it is very saddening, very divisive, it is very insulting and I have been looking back that these are the kind of leaders that we have elected and no wonder we have not developed, because I think we are not electing leaders”, said Chama!!!!!!
      What a joke!!!!

Mr Chama, please take your apology far from our faces. This is hypocrisy of the highest order.

Does it hurt to say, “Im sorry for bad language, for insulting the Tonga people and for putting the President’s name in disrepute, please forgive ME…”, because thats what you did.

    • Its so easy to see that PF has realised that the will be a grand coalition of political parties, students, NGO’s churches etc to kick them out of power…

Chama is no fool he has seen the end

    • Chama, its too late for that apology. People ‘s hearts whose relatives you shot and insulted are so hurt that, it will take time to forgive you. The only way you will be forgiven is when PF is booted out of power and justice is meted out on you. For now its a matter watching you rot as your Boss Lungu has now realised that you are a liability and are reducing his chances of being re-elected in 2016.

For Chama to issue an apology just like that, something big must have force him out his hell hole of arrongance. He may be smelling sack not long from now.

ZWD wrote about his conversation with Emanuel Mwamba and with this change of Chama ‘s heart, the report is absolutely true.

I will not be surprised to see Chama not fired not long from now and replaced with an Easterner. Kambwili…

    • Kambwili and Chama’s jobs are on the line.

Chama , Emanuel Mwamba and Kapata have all smelt PF exit in August. ZWD reported it.

Very soon I will start a petition to bar you from travelling to Europe and the US because of your hate speech. If Chama does not apologise to me personally I embark on destroying his political career out rightly. His utterances make him not fit to be a politician.

VIVA UPND and The HH team.

    • The politics of Chama are copycat tactics of Sata’s politics who also is a student of Kapwepwe school of politics.
-vocal, provocative, rhetoric & ponyax(street) language. That’s how Sata built himself a name & landed himself the Presidency against all odds.
When PF disintegrates there is currently nobody from the North_Eastern ‘Axis of Zambian Power’ (i.e Luapula, Northern, Muchinga & now the newly aligned Eastern) who can muscle political support than Chama. Like Sata, a Bisa, Chama a lala may be the cornerstone of this political block. After all everyone knew Sata mostly appealed for Bemba-Nyanja support. With simple majority he won except now one needs a new dimension to the political appeal. So those attacks on Tongas are calculated moves to endear himself to his political…

    • So those attacks on Tongas by Chama are calculated moves to ‘wrongly’endear himself to his political support base.

    • @Sebitwane

Chama is too arrogant; he will continue insulting other tribes because Edgar Lungu protects him.

    • Dear Chama and your PF you have been such a pain to many Zambians with your poor policies and arrogance. Some of the group of the people you have damaged their lives includes and not limited to
      1. Farmers
      2. Mines
      3.Civil servants
4.A tribe you have insulted with no apparent reasons.
It is sad that you have done a lot of harm to our unity too.

  1. Apology not accepted! Chama has consistently insulted and derided Tongas over the last two years. And PF have tricked the Barotse over the BA64, the youths over employment, the miners over their jobs, Zambians over the Constitution, the mines over VAT refunds, farmers over maize purchases and farm inputs, and Kanyama residents over drainage! PF is the most useless party ever that thrives on lies and stealing public funds. This is not the time for forgiving but retribution.

    • Words are cheap. Chama must put his money where his mouth is!

Stop using taxpayers cash to block Zambia Reports and Zambian Watchdog.

Sell the Times and Daily Mail to the private sector as Guy Scott promised.

Then we will start to believe you and your PF are SERIOUS about freedom of Speech.

Otherwise your words are just more PF ubufi to get elected!!!!!!!!!!

  2. NOW CHAMA GOES AFTER KAMBWILI. THE PF IS DISINTEGRATING BEFORE OUR VERY OWN EYES. LUNGU IS ABOUT TO FACE THE WORST POLITICAL EXODUS EVER WITNESSED IN ZAMBIAS DEMOCRATIC HISTORY. AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE THE PF WILL BE BARELY RECOGNISABLE.

    • Loadist,

To my lung out, indeed in totality I affirm your position. True that, watch this space.

PF bandits thought that they were clever lol, with their short legs of 90 days illusions & now time has come up. PF can’t run & hide at the same roof, the donchi kubeba of theirs will be poured over them in 4 months.
      PF feeling heat.

PF to eat donchi kubeba for a Kachema.

  3. Thanks for this ba Chama and also make sure you advise frank, kambwili, Mumbi tayali to behave humanely too.

  4. Renounce violence and demeaning of your political competitors.

Democracy of necessity is a contest for power and a persuasion of masses.

If we allow democracy to flourish, we shall excel.

  5. Comment :Its ored too late. The damage u hav made is very huge looking at the time remaining 4 u to b booted out of power.U hav really messed up!.

  6. Personally I have made up my mind, no vote for you and your fellow cronies. The damage you have done to this country will take years to repair

  7. He chooses to speak to a foreign audience and sounds like he is genuinely sorry, wait till he faces an audience for home consumption, you will start wondering it’s the same mouth

    • You don’t have to even wait. Reread his statement. He is blaming the economic stagnation on a few individuals who have amassed wealth. These are chip shots PF has learned to use that we also need to see through.

  8. “…Ruling Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama has unreservedly apologized to the Zambian people whom the PF may have offended during the course of running the affairs of the state…

Mr. Chama, when “…running the affairs of the State…” has become your area of influence?
No Mr. Chamas, you have not been either elected nor appointed to any position of the State and from when tribal insults have become part of “…running the affairs of the State…”?

  9. You asked for Lungu to finish Sata’s term and we obliged but no real development has been actualized since. Why do you need another 5 year term for? No way you have damaged our country too much. It’s time for HH and UPND to take over.

  10. Chama, there is no repentance without reconciliation. Healing is a process and I wonder whether your shoddy vote-seeking (2016) ‘apologetic’ tone can serve the purpose. Do you, for example, expect the UPND cadre you alledgedly shot during a by-election campaign to accept such ‘cheap’ apology? Let the people express their will and probably voting you out is the best language they can understand to address such ‘political thuggery’. The will of the people is the will of God.

  11. You know what they say about that wild animal that can never change it’s stripes, something like that? Chama you’re the wild animal!

  12. Forget ZAMBIA being developed by any new leadership other than the PF, because whilst they are in opposition, all they say and talk about is the negativity about everything and the danger with such traits is that in the unlikely event they are in the driving seat, they will always be saying “we are trying to correct the damage the PF did in 5 years” and by the time people realise it, it’s election time again!
Now, with the 50%+1, obviously such a government would not be returned into power again and so they will resort to change the constitution so that they remove the 50%+1 which demands a majority president.
So the people must not be f00led that the opposition really mean good to them! It’s a well calculated move for certain individuals to get richer or resuscitate their…

  13. Mr Chama you have offered a general apology and just because you want a second term in government. This is not a sincere apology. You yourself has personally grieved the people of Southern promise and by the way your Mr Kambwili continues to do the same. Be specific and don’t offer blanket apologies if you are genuine.

  14. Contd
    businesses.
What people should be demanding from anyone aspiring to lead this country is
    1. To clearly put it in writing what the price of mealie meal would be when they can into power and the time frame
    2. How they will stop loadshedding completely and when in the absence of rains
    3. How the will manipulate the kwacha for it to be at K5 to a dollar
    4. How they will cause the price of copper on the international market to gain rapidly and start reinstating the retrenched miners
    5. How on earth are they going to employ all the youths with quality jobs
    6. What is their development agenda of ZAMBIA in ver clear terms? They need to be ver specific and time frames given!
In the absence of written answers to the above, forget going anywhere, I would rather keep voting for the PF…

  15. Mr Chama is on record issuing disparaging remarks towards southerners saying that “Tongas must produce more children to vote for them.” These remarks issued by Mr Chama and PF were actually not targeted for people of southern province alone, but was also an insult to all ethnic groups especially those who have never ruled this country. To date PF and Chama have not shown any remorse over these inflammatory and demeaning remarks towards fellow citizens.

Time for PF and Chama to apologize is even over, no one needs this apology anymore. As if it was not enough, PF and Chama have continued to insult the nation by telling the opposition to go and urinate in the Kariba dam, it was not the opposition who have been complaining over the load shedding but the entire nation; in other…

  16. chama y shud u apologise wen u have not don anything wrong knowingly????? we are PF and stil remain so. why apologise to the people SP only…infact we dont need their votes let them give it to their god hh…we will give PF from the other provinces and stil win with 50% +1 majority…..PERIOD

  17. The sponsors of the opposition have clearly stated that Zambia should stop developing it’s road infrastructure and only do ver selected ones in some named Province. The question is, what they afraid of with the current road infrastructure development? Which so called developed country has a poor road infrastructure and network?
We all know that the three basic ingredients to any society to develop are
    1. Robust road infrastructure and network
    2. Sustainable and adequate electricity
3.supporting infrastructure and good water reticulation
But do we hear and see from opposition in Zambia? They are against such undertakings and one wonders really if they think the Zambians are too dull and naive to differentiate who a good leader is and not!
Today someone in opposition says “I will…

  18. Mr Chama, whatever goes up must come down. Your time for an apology is long gone my dear. You are just adding salt to a fresh would especially to the Southerners, this seems a mock in the actual sense. Anyway, some of us have forgiven you though we are not sure of your words. Thank you.

  19. Its clear Chama has seen something rotten in PF but fearing to say it. Mr Chama, jump ship before its too late, UPND still taking in new members. Apologies don’t heal scars

    • @Mr Fly… Chama yena kuti aaba fye he will not be accepted in UPND. He is “damaged goods” However, let him apologize categorically for his mao vibes then we will decide what amnesty we can give him after forming government in August. Teapa the tribal vibe has failed to gain traction for PF, find another campaign strategy mwe fipuba mwe. This reminds me of Jose Mourinho, how did he expect good treatment from referees when he was busy belittling them? you expect Tongas to vote for you after all the insults towards them? Cant never…viva UPND and HH

  20. APOLOGY ACCEPTED! A person who apologizes is a good one. BEWARE of any person who refuses to forgive for such a one can never apologize even if they are caught red handed!

    • @Umwina Nkana – A person who apologizes specifically and sincerely is a good one. Chama wants people to forgive PF for some issues PF caused during the running of the Government. Why can he just say that I apologize as PF SG for disrespectful remarks I made to such and such person or group of people and then end there?

  21. you don’t force one to take an apology, it’s take it or leave it.when there is a wind of change, its easy to see.keep dreaming u ve won.keep your I and many Zambians that appreciate will still vote for pf.you are not the only ones that will vote.

  22. No one told PF to do everything in 5 years but we wanted to set building blocks were others will build on. no one told you to 8000 km of road in 5 years, 4000 urban roads, pave Zambia not even SA has that kind of money to do such projects within 5 years. so now the social sector has been hit and we are now feeling the pinch. Populist approach to manage a country is detrimental. Yes we are driving on good roads but we are driving with a lamp on the throat because of high cost of living. 5 litre cooking oil K132.00, 2 kg sugar K28.00 from K60.00 and K14.00 respectively.

  23. What is important is to make an apology as the SG as said to err is human and to forgive is divine, not every one can accept this but the issue at hand you have done your part, those who can’t accept an apology let them continue in the spirit of the Devil. The only problem is that (Hatred + Losing elections) = Death. UPND cadres can’t accept this, like president like cadres, HH never loved Sata until his death, how do you expect his cadres to accept Chama’s apology. Chama has done this because his boss ECL has a forgiving heart and told him that Chama just do what is right there is nothing we are losing but draw many to our party.

  24. Fine.
ZAMBIANS are waiting for the apology from people who vote on tribal lines as they did in the January 2015 ppresidentia elections where more than 90% in Southern Provincince voted for Hh.
Another apology is awaited for the way Hh was elected to the Upnd presidency purely on tribal lines. II was offensive.

    • You are a f.o.o.l iwe chi arm chair critic. Wake up and check the ECZ results and you will find that Eatern, Nothern, Muchinga, Luapula voted on regional basis just like Southern did. Ubukopo no kubipa pameso kwati chimbwi.

  25. Sorry Ba Chama wesu, but we cannot forgive what we cannot forget. Your time is up. You have tendered your so called apology a bit too late. The damage you have created is to too big for us to even contemplate to forgive you and your PF, please give us a a breather. In the meantime, it is HH for us this time around.

    • Copied from.Douglas…..

Furthermore, in 2011 elections when again, RB (Easterner), HH (Southerner) and Sata (Northerner) contested, the results from their respective regions were as follows: RB got 74.28% from Eastern (and 18.89% from Southern); Sata got 74.66% from Luapula (and 6.67% from Southern); HH got 72.31% from Southern (with 0.79% from Northern! and 3. 04% from Eastern! – much less than in 2008!)… Note that each candidate still got above 72% from their own regions just like in 2008 – so no change!

So where is this theory of Tribal or Region votes more pronounced or worse off for Southerners than other regions? I don’t see anything unique about southern region, apart from that they are even fairer to other contestants than other regions! You may wish to further review all…

  26. As usual, the uPMD has failed to read the mood and has taken the apology as a sign of weakness in their adversaries. Keep on misinterpreting the obvious and keeping getting the shock. This time the shock will be larger than life.

  27. Chama has realized that the majority Zambians are up in arms against the pf and therefore they are about to go into oblivion come August 11, 2016 with a landslide defeat. ZWD and Post have exposed a lot of pf’s schemes to destabilize Zambia and rig the elections. A person who discerns knows very well that people are loathing the pf from Mr. Chagwa, through Inonge, Chama, Kambwili, Mumbi Phiri, father Bwalya, Sunday Chanda, Emmanuel Mwamba etc up to all the grass root because of their vulgar language and lies. Nature is totally opposing pf and there is just no chance for this party to win in August 11 elections. Ba Chagwa came in through the back door and so he qualifies for a thief in biblical terms. The true sent one to economically liberate Zambia is HH. hate him or love him he is…

  28. PF WILL GET NEGATIVE 10 ( -VE 10) VOTES THIS YEAR. ITS NOT INSPIRING IN ANYTHING..! EVEN CHAMA HIMSELF MAY NOT VOTE FOR PF.

  29. it z only God that reads the composition of one’s heart if your apology z genuine,God ll forgive you nd it carries no word to humans who dont forgive.

  30. Iwe’ Chi Chama!!
Rather than make frothy mealie mouth insincere apologies, tell the nation the date you’ll be moving to Malawi or South Africa??
That day should be made a National Holiday so long suffering Zedian’s, remember when they were liberated from a creature that with other P.F Bandits’ destroyed Zambia.

  31. Is there a waiver for some selected individuals on the prices of commodities that people are complaining about or what …it appears others are still buying a dollar at k5,, bread k5.. News paper k5.. Cooking oil k60.0..mealie mil k46…we need to investigate …because people are not concerned they are supporting like its Arsenal …Man U ..Chelsea.. Liverpool thing, were even when u r fighting relagation u can still shout man uuuuuuu …chelseeeeeea …note this is not football …its like football has made some minds sick and AND they think everything its to support….man u for life ..chelsea for life …Arsenal for life ….maybe the. Education system lives much to be desired in zed …check hw the USA are analysing candidates based on policies and reflections on the economy…

  32. THAT IS WHAT A NORMAL PERSON IS SUPPOSED TO DO BUT WE HAVE KNOW YOUR HEART WELL WE HAVE ACCEPTED YOUR APOLOGY. THE AUGUST 16 WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH.

  33. I wish you knew God’s will concerning the president in waiting.your ways are not God’s ways.remain quite and see the Will of Heaven

  34. Acceptance or rejection of this smoky apology will be determined in the ballot box on 11th August 2016. Why develop headaches.

  35. Clearly this is a false article posted by pro UPND before the court hearing. It makes no sense at all for SG to be rambling on in this matter.

  36. I can only conclude that there must be some truth in the reported conversation between Davies Chama and Sunday Chanda in which he admits he’d vacate Zambia should opposition UPND win the August 2016 elections
