Power Dynamos have refuted claims by their Kitwe arch rivals Nkana suggesting that they have signed Chipolopolo defender Christopher Munthali as free agent.

Nkana on Friday announced that Munthali had joined them on a three year contract as a free agent from Power.

But Power secretary Ricky Mamfunda insists that Munthali has a contract at Arthur Davies that will expire in December this year.

“Maybe Munthali has another contract with Nkana but with us it hasn’t expired,” Mamfunda said.

“Just that language doesn’t make sense. They haven’t written to us and they haven’t had any discussions with us.”

Munthali say his contract at Power expired last month.

He returned to Power last year after spending two seasons on loan at Nkana.

He is currently in Rwanda with the Zambia squad that is competing at the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

  1. The two Kitwe giants will setle that issue. Muthali had a beta season @ Nkana during 2014 mtn super league season.
Rex & Kenny must meet and solve this issue. The player will play for a team of his choice.
