Today’s Message: As You Wait

Today’s Scripture

“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.”

(James 5:7, NLT)

As You Wait

God has put dreams and desires in every person’s heart. But most of the time, there’s a season of waiting involved. Maybe you’re waiting for a relationship to improve; waiting to get married; waiting for a promotion, or waiting to overcome an illness. Much of life is spent waiting. But there’s a right way to wait and a wrong way to wait. Too often, when things don’t happen on our timetable, we get down and discouraged or anxious and fretful. That’s because we’re not waiting the right way.

Notice that today’s verse doesn’t say if you wait, it says as you wait. The fact is that we’re all going to wait. It goes on to say that we should consider how the farmer waits—patiently and eagerly. We’re not supposed to sit around discouraged; we’re supposed to be hopeful, positive and full of expectancy!

No matter what you are believing for, expect things to change in your favor. Today could be the day that God turns it all around. As you wait with patience and expectancy, you’ll open the door for God to move. He’ll fight your battles, and you’ll see that abundant harvest He’s promised in every area of your life!

A Prayer for Today

“Father, today I choose to wait expectantly for You. I trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I put my trust and hope in You knowing that You have good things in store for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

    • Your god doesn’t do lots of things, like ever showing up in photos, videos, or audio recordings, doing anything at all that is visible, answering prayers to regrow amputated limbs, etc. It’s exactly like your magical friend is imaginary. For someone who supposedly wants us to know that ‘he’ exists, he sure does a piss-poor job at communicating.?

    • @unicorn that is your opinion, my God has done a lot for me and that is why I am highly educated and rich. All praise to him!!

    • @palobe, simply read the bible and you will find those answers e.g John 9:3 explains why some people go through unfortunate circumstances. God never forgets. You chaps on the fringes of society in the diaspora are trying your best to aiethist to p,ease your hosts…

    • Once a person starts looking at the Bible Critically, they see the Bible is Pretty well Supernatural Bullshiit, and nothing in the Bible can be proven to be true. The Bible was written by men. God did not write the Bible, humans wrote the Bible, and they had a supernatural imagination that would not quit.?

  1. All religions are man-made?. I has seen through the manmade fakery of religion, the threats of hell and physical threats against those who dare suggest that religions are baseless and immoral, and how there is actually absolutely no evidence whatsoever for so many claims made by religions, religious texts and religious believers, which is why they have to resort to faith, which is actually essentially no different from gullibility. I only hope more have the same realisation.?

  2. All thinking men are atheists. – Ernest Hemingway

“If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.” – Albert Einstein

  3. Christianity was from the beginning, essentially and fundamentally, life’s nausea and disgust with life, merely concealed behind, masked by, dressed up as, faith in “another” or “better” life.

    • So your belief in god is based on your own narrow definition because it’s sufficient as an answer to origins for you. Unfortunately there’s still things objectively true in this thing called reality where what’s instead evident is that a series of natural processes occur in the world and no such cosmic wizard is required for this very structure to function. No matter how desperate you are to believe it is. Given you also used the argument of irreducible complexity to justify your god, if you’re to be honest in your line of logic, then who created god? And you can’t take a step back insisting god has no creator and that he’s the first cause so therefore no origin story is required. Why don’t you instead start believing in the existence of the Uber-God? The Uber-God I have just…

  4. The Uber-God I have just coined, and given it’s definition as the uncaused creator of all gods it warrants as an answer to the origins of the irreducible complexity of your god. So why not? Given your logic with definition. Of course I doubt, and hope, you’re not that easily convinced of things.

  5. “A man without a god is like a fish without a bicycle.”
……….Adapted from a quotation of feminist Gloria Steinem

  6. To all non believers on this page, please note that your lack of belief has not resolved any povertly, unequal wealth distribution, prevented sickness, floods, death either. So why should Believers give up God Almighty at your behest? It seems you would replace Faith with. Nothing. So what good is that? Reading your hatred and noting your spiteful postings it is clear you exist in painful nothingness, no Hope, No Faith and No Charity to your fellow human. What good is that?

  7. Palobe, unicorn and other satanists you are just wasting your time worshiping the devil. God loves you, there is still time to repent and change. Thats the problem when some people get very educated and leave Zambia they became agents of Lucifer.

  8. Keep waiting for this fictitious white chap called Jesus like our grand fathers and mothers who died waiting whilst they robbed them!!

Wake up from your sillness and study about self

    • Wake up to what @JayJay…….you nonbelievers are just useless. You keep telling people there is no God but what you trust in is no more effective than believing in God’s Tennents. Why can you not respect other people’s choices?
