HH ADDRESSES UCT DISTINGUISHED SPEAKERS PROGRAMME

Yesterday evening we were honoured to make an address at the Graduate Business School of the University of Cape Town (UCT) as part of their Distinguished Speakers Programme.

During the event, hosted by lecturer in emerging markets at UCT Dr Steven Rogers, I was happy to share some of my personal experiences from my time in industry and insights concerning the importance of hard work, determination and finding partners you can trust and share risks, experiences and ideas with.

When quizzed as to what can be done to help revive the Zambian economy we discussed the importance of supporting local business by reducing the cost of doing business. We advocated action to cut red tape and simplify the regulatory environment such as reducing the number of permits needed to start a business, the provision of clear and stable policies, a reduction in the number of days it takes to start a business and reducing the time and cost of transporting goods in and out of the country. These are all steps we believe to be very important in getting Zambia back on track so we can create the jobs and the revenue we need to improve living conditions and service provision for all. Most importantly we talked about the need for a multi-sector economy that can survive both the highs and lows in one part of the economy, in our case mining.

We would like to thank Dr Steven Rogers, his team and all those who attended our wonderful session.

    • @kudos

You are the worst cretin yourself. Even my six year old ‘s IQ is 1000 times better than you.

Its such idiocy thats killing my lovely country.

    • why is the PF govt so sacred of PF? they don’t allow HH any meaningful interaction with Zambia using the PoA. But look at how much attention developed societies are giving to him. Even international media..ZNBC have been instructed not to show HH, what a shame

    • HH is such an inspiration. By not voting for HH, Zambians have repeatedly missed opportunity to attain meaningful development. I love it when HH talks about how he built his business. He is the only guy in Zambia whose career in business is very clear and honest

    • Oppenheimer family boosting HH’s image through their powerful connections……….whatever price HH wants to auction this country to them in exchange for these favour, only he knows! PF nafuti nafuti!

  1. Panic button ba Tata, whether you address or undress the students, you are surely losing these elections. in fact with a huge margin.

  2. This hatred for HH by some of you people here is killing you. surely even if you know how to hate, you must acknowledge that the same things he is saying is what your PF government were campaigning for and are still promising they will do if voted back

  3. HH IS THE MAN OF THE DAY. ZAMBIA LOVES THIS MAN. WE ALL KNOW THAT EVIL IS CONTINUALLY FIGHTING GOOD. SATAN IS BUSY USING THE DECEIVING LUNGU TEAM, FIGHTING GOOD SO THAT ZAMBIANS CONTINUE SUFFERING THRU BAD LEADERSHIP. SAY NO TO LUNGU. VIVA HH VIVA!

  4. HH has no parliamentary role and seems to enjoy travelling far and wide seeking the country’s social and economic redress. Being a serial loser, he seems to have mastered the art of capturing the public mindset locally and internationally which, humanly speaking, cannot descend well with his competitors.

  5. TRUTH, whoever cheated you that Zambia loves hh, alas! go and ask the people of Luanshya about him, they will tell you how they detest this Satanist, he swindled them when he was given an opportunity to preside over ZCCM on privatization.

  6. The truth be told, this is more than our current kadansa kabotolo so called president is capable of!

Even when he addressed the UN with a prepared speech nobody bothered to attend, including his Zambian US$ 300,000 delegation!

If he tried at a world class University like this he would have been BOOOOED out for his dullness and ignorance on business and economics with the students laughing at him!

    • HH is very well known abroad. The same cannot be said about him in his own country. People know ECL in every corner of Zambia because he is delivering on his promises. Well done PF!

  7. Just by reading what serial killer oh sorry loser was saying I didn’t read anything new. The question is what’s the point of changing regime? The only new thing upnd will bring is filling all positions by tongas because 90percent of Upnd are tongas.

  8. “a reduction in the number of days it takes to start a business and reducing the time and cost of transporting goods in and out of the country” How are you going to achieve this if you keep telling this Government people are not going to eat roads. Do you now realize you need a good road network to achieve good business? Be serious for once HH!

    • @Microscope,agree,the misconception of wholesale condemnation of road infrastructure should be blamed. But we need roads constructed at the right cost and for economic benefits rather than putting up roads in residential areas at the same cost of putting up a power station when we have power shortages! To reduce the cost and time of transporting goods for import and exports we surely need good roads and railway lines but road procured at inflated prices are a huge cost to tax papers and remove benefits they create. Then we also need transparent fuel procurement procedures that reduce the cost of transportation. PF should demonstrate what they are doing in that direction to remove doubts!

  9. HH is such an inspiration. By not voting for HH, Zambians have repeatedly missed opportunity to attain meaningful development. I love it when HH talks about how he built his business. He is the only guy in Zambia whose career in business is very clear and honest..
