State House Special Assistant for projects Monitoring and Implementation Lucky Mulusa says Southern province has more developmental projects taking place compared to other provinces in the country.

Speaking when he addressed government heads in Choma, Mr Mulusa said Southern province was leading other provinces in various infrastructure developments being spearheaded by the government.

He stressed that Southern province is the most advanced rural province in infrastructure development.

However, Mr Mulusa expressed concern with the slow pace at which some development projects are being executed in the province.

And speaking earlier at the meeting Southern Province Permanent Secretary Sibanze Simuchoba implored government to intervene in the delayed opening of a modern market and international bus station in Livingstone.

Mr Simuchoba said the opening of the two facilities will greatly benefit the people of Livingstone and the country as a whole.

    • I thought that accolade was reserved for Muchinga province? It is this unsustainable pace of trying to build mega projects that have little value to uplifting people’s lives that are a root cause of our economic woes. We don’t have to wait long once opened before students at Robert Makasa university start roiting due to lack of allowances.

    • @Nostradamus
PF is more confused than even before,,, why take more projects to southern province and neglect copper producing North western province

    • Who are fooling Mulusa, Muchinga is leading in terms of infrastructure development followed by Northern, Lusaka and then Copperbelt.

    • Mulusa, just enjoy that job you got out of betraying MMD. What projects are you referring to compared to what has happened in Muchinga Province. Two universities, serious new roads constracted. Be fair and just in your comments and observations. Does Muchinga deserve those projects? Yes, they do and there is nothing wrong, but be factual when giving such statements and do not mislead the nation. What shocks in PF is that people with no constitutional authority give statements on national matters. For instance now Fr. Bwalya is more of a govt spokes person than Kambwili. What a sham of governance structure is this….

    • Thats a lie Southern province has always been more developed then the other provinces excpt Lusaka and Copperbelt. It is historical, the line of rail, the white settlers, the fertile soils are all factors. Commercial agriculture was adopted very early and while peasant farmers in other areas still use hoes the farmers in the South use oxen and other technologies

  1. So what if PF campaign projects are in Southern Province… is it is to win hearts of UPND sympathizers, but that doesn’t mean they will abandon their parties.
Sata never even held any rally in Monze, never. So Mulusa, thanks for the projects. Now it is time you went to Luapula, because PF is dead there.

  2. Once a Politician starts comparing developmental projects of one province to another province; it merely shows how shallow that politician is..instead of alluding to policy pronouncements. If his leg is blow up in this selfsame tribal mine field let him/her rot in there.
When we were growing up none of these issues ever surfaced..its a real shame!!

  3. Who cares and after all Zambians know that your DNA ba Pf is lying. It does not matter what you have done the fact is come August 2016, no votes for you. Your small achievements have been hugely outweighed by massive suffering you subjected Zambians to. You are unwanted.

  4. @Nostradamus

PF IS DEAD IN LUAPULA! THEN WHO IS THERE?

THREE SEATS HAVE ALREADY BEEN GONE UNOPPOSED ON ACCOUNT OF HIGH NOMINATION FEES…PLEASE STAY TUNED..

  5. Mulusa is lying big time! The Id,iots start saying that because he is embarrassed that Southern Province has been neglected by PF compared to northern provinces!
PC constructed 2 Universities in Northern, Muchinga and none in Southern! This basta.rd Mulusa is talking about cheap useless projects which add no value and have no quality!!
    Mulusa FUSEKI…Arse.whore!!

  6. WELL DONE PF LET FOOLS VOTE ON TRIBAL LINES THE CHOICE IS YOS.
REMEMBER HADOF HITLER HH IS MERCELESS HE CANT EVEN CARE FOR TONGA CHIEFS MOST OF THEM SICK NOW CRYING TO THE GOVT THEY DECAMPAGN ALWAYS.
HODOF HITLER IS SO RUTHLESS THAT HE CANT EVEN VISIT THESE SICK CHIEFS TOO BAD AND SHAME TO THE PROVINCE. NB THESE SICK CHIEFS WERE NOTED WHEN FIRST LADY MOTHER OF THE NATION A CARING AND HARD WORKING MUM.
SP VOTE FOR LUNGU FOR MORE~

  7. Thanks Ba Mulusa, when you were in MMD you were accusing PF of concentrating on their strongholds. Now there you are! Some places where PF was voted massively in 2011 have never seen this so called development hence the apathy in Jan’15 by-election. It may be worse this year! Those projects in Southern might have been initiated at the behest of Sata with deception from Munkombwe that they would sway people of the province to vote PF,similar to some projects in some provinces. The Jan’15 were a clear eye opener and if Lungu was wise he could have concentrated his last year on completing what was already started in non-PF areas where they will never vote for hi,fulfill promises in PF’s strongholds, instead of starting new projects (some of them meaningless)!!Some PF strongholds have…

    • ..continue..some PF strongholds have slipped off,not mainly to the opposition but voter apathy,”stay away all politicians are lairs and there is nothing we will benefit. Look at how much we supported PF but what have we gotten?”

  8. I always ask my self what our brothers and sister from south want. Go to UNZA, Nkrumah they are the majority. No rural district in zambia can be compared to dustricts in southern. Namwala has received new hospital. look at their behaviour toward govt insteady of being appreaciative opposite is the case.

  9. Go to UNZA, Nkrumah they are the majority. No rural district in zambia can be compared to dustricts in southern. Namwala has received new hospital. look at their behaviour toward govt insteady of being appreaciative opposite is the case.

  10. It’s not about what you are going to do these people can’t appreciate. Tongas are too loyal to there tribe l have been doing my own research on tribes in Zambia this one is another. They’re good people and most of my friends come from this region and all of them are UPND they don’t support any other political parties. So let’s understand them their leader is like un angel who don’t make mistakes. Other tribes can support upnd not them except those few in government but we don’t know how they vote.

  11. Comment: @Tatulaba

This time around will vote the way they vote big time. If someone can’t see small things then forget about big things.

  12. I really don’t know why, apart from a gut feeling, but I can’t help but support London Mayor Boris Johnson’s Brexit decision!

  13. What Mr Mulusa is saying is true. Southern Province is the most developed. And they have fixed themselves everywhere in Govt Departments, learning Institutions, quase govt in strategic places so that they enrol and employ more Tongas than other tribes. This has happened over the years and other tribes did not realise what was happening until now

  14. indeed the towns in the south are far much organised than in the north……however you can be crazy to expect any change in the voting pattern from our friends.

    • nonsense, the towns in the south are more orderly and clean than in lusaka and going up north and copperbelt. what a joy to, ride that side where you are not greeted by filthy shanties and vendors taking up roads.

  15. Then a Tonga should not be allowed to be a Manager, Director, Minister university chancellor/ Registrar, college principal or president because they will employ and recruit 80% tongas in a Country of 73 tribes. Zambians wake up

    • Southerners have never cried for any handouts from no.one starting with Kaunda to Sata and his disciple.

Regardless of Any Government In Power (AGIP), southerners will flourish cos they don’t depend.on corruption through govt contracts.

  16. Southern Province’s assets are rooted within the people’s economic tradition which is flourishing especially in hard times like now. Where is your beef, milk, fish & kapenta, sugar, electrical power, tourism revenues, electrical power come from?. Most of the richest rural and urban people are Southerners. Go to Mkunshi and you will find the Chilala of this world, a successful commercial farmer. They run the Zambian economy and that is why HH understands the economy better than the Kombonic urban dwellers. Vote HH 2016 for you to see economic light at the end of the tunnel.

  17. Am of double heritage, Tonga being one.

My Tonga relatives live in the most developed rural province because God bequeathed them with coal, sugar, vic falls, tourism, farms, hydro stations, railways, four border crossing, Kariba dam. Zambezi and Kafue rivers, Texas like ranching areas and cattle in abundance!

Then perhaps the best govt and.missions schools.are here: hilcrest, st Edmunds, njase, etc.

Private investment like HH abbatoirs and milling.plants add to employment opportunities.

  18. No matter what pf my government does for people in southern, its just a waste of time and money. Tongas will still vote for upnd and HH. They are very un gratefull.

    • Why do you want to speak on behalf of others?Who gave you the mandate?I am Bemba but I wont vote for PF.I make my own leaving and right now things are hard.I don’t want to imagine another 5 years under clueless leaders like Kambwili,Chikwanda you can end up dying from hunger.I ost a friend of mine who died with a prescription in his pocket.Reason he had no money to buy the medication.Go ahead and vote for them just make sure you prepare your wills coz the mortality rate will surely rise.Investers have lost confidence in PF coz of inconsistencies and you should expect PF to continue flipflopping if given another mandate.

  19. Comment: Yes SP is the most developed rural province but this has nothing to do with the curreny government. Thanks should go to the hard working Tonga people themselves who because of their farming, town centres developed so well during the colonial and first republic. Do Tongas have to thank recent governments for the vic falls, vic falls power station, the railway line, Zambia sugar, kariba dam, Maamba coal, Nkandabwe coal, etc?

    • @Chewe the virgin, indeed why digress? Mulusa is talking about current government projects. To start lauding one self about the Victoria Falls, power stations and coal mines which cannot be put where the natural endowment does not exist is quite fallacious! There is no poor province in Zambia, there are just provinces which are under developed as development for a long time has followed the colonial pattern;line of rail and in mining. Who knew 20yrs ago that NW would be generating the highest forex for Zambia? Who knows in next 20 years where most maize, beef and will be coming from with the opening of more rural areas and changing rainfall patterns?

  20. the post helped to destroy the UPND when Mazoka died there was continuous headline that ONLY A TONGA should take over from Mazoka for more than 7 days and it is true. That is why Sikwaba resigned from the TONGA political party .You need deliverance from your tribal way .What is wrong from what Mulusa has said

  21. ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION ba Inspector AND PARTY CADRE/ vuvuzela of purpoted GVT projects (another position for wastage of tax payers’ money).. ZAMBIA WANSEBANYA!!!!! next time talk about how the GVT plans to raise the money and finance the Kaloba your bosses have contracted just to give part of it to complete/ build many “white elephants” across the country….

    • Southern Province is a NET contributor to Zambia’s Treasury and GDP.

Almost all power running Zambia is from Southern Province. Almost all imports pass through SP.

Almost all meaningful tourism is in SP.
All development done is from SP own taxes.

What should SP be grateful to PF?

  22. MULUSA DON’T HOODWINK AND TRY TO APPEASE SMALL MINDS. WE ALL KNOW THAT DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE HAS BEEN SELF-PROPELLING, BECAUSE OF THE STRONG-WILLED TONGA PEOPLE THERE WHO ARE NEVER DISCOURAGED TO WORK HARD IN SPITE OF HAVING LEADERSHIP IN PF THAT ARE ALWAYS PAINTING THE REGION BLACK. IF MULUSA FOUND ANY DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE, THEN LET HIM KNOW THAT IT IS NOT PF THAT HAS TAKEN THAT DEVELOPMENT, IT IS THE PEOPLE OF SOUTHERN PROVINCE.

  23. What is in Muchinga province? Recently a friend of mine was transferred from Southern Province to work in Muchinga. He had also been under the impression that late MCS took major developments in Muchinga. This Tonga friend of mine was astonished because what he found on the ground is totally different from the impression that his tribesmate share amongst themselves. There is one university yes which was planned far way back in MMD if not UNIP times but other that there is very little to write home about. UPND should apologize for misleading their tribesmate

  24. Mulusa, you too think development projects translate to human development, very very disappointing. Joining the bandwagon of pointing at bitumen to deceive poor people. shame on you.

  25. ok let us teach our fellow tongas a good lesson.I have also never seen a tonga supporting PF only guys in PF govt. It’s so shameful that even when they are employing they consider themselves first. No-wonder we can’t have power in da country bcoz a normal govt can’t put all power station where it doesn’t rain.It seems most technocrats are tongas in key position.Anyway we are one zambia one nation but favoring pipo based on tribe should end.nega nega formula needed also. It’s true Southern province is more developed.viva PF

  26. It’s sad that the situation has gotten to this level in our beloved country and no one is providing the leadership required to take this country to higher heights. All there is,is rhetoric after rhetoric. This country has overlndebted itself by borrowing more than it can afford to pay back to the lenders all in the name aligning their pockets. The coffers are empty no plan on how to pay back always scapegoat politicking and using violence of reason to pepertrait their ill gotten intentions to inrich themseves and their croonies. The violence in the Pf was exacerbated by the incorporation of the gangster touting call boys that were absorbed as their campaign tool or front to cause mehem and intimidation to who ever stands in their way and also the abuse of the police to protect them and…

  27. ..how does he compare value with quantity..??..in SP an office block, govt staff houses, prefab clinic, half a kilometre road works all valued at $10m and in Muchinga..a university, police head quarters, 50 km road net work all valued at $250m….

  28. It is true because Mulakupikwa University is in South. More solar plants will be put in South. All roads to the palaces are tarred etc.

  29. UPND is for the TONGAS ,any tonga you meet at random belongs to UNPD why is it like this can someone help me to understand this

  30. People are not PFooled. This is a lady minute peppering in order to deceive southerners. Projects up north were funded in 2012 and have been completed and bedded in. Now PF are panicking about how they excluded SP and are starting small petty projects which Useless Mulusa is already complaining about as being slow in implementation. Did he really think that Lungu can correct 5 years of neglect of SP in the last three months of his reign of terror? And why do these PFools now want to please “bakachema who cannot rule this country”?
