PATRIOTIC Front (PF) cadres who have turned themselves into mercenaries and vectors of violence should immediately be rooted out because they are tarnishing the image of the ruling party and President Edgar Lungu who has been preaching peace and harmony in the country, Kennedy Kamba has said.

Mr Kamba who is Lusaka Province PF youth chairman said a scheme has been hatched by some Lusaka PF youth leaders in which innocent members and loyal leaders are being implicated into violence which he said had resulted into the arrest of 21 youths who have been accused of having been in possession of pangas and knives.

He said the group that has been causing terror at Soweto market and the bus station using the name of the PF was still free and yet those who had been arrested had not committed any crime.

Mr Kamba revealed that a group calling itself America 2 was allegedly masterminding the arrest of the 21 PF cadres who are currently detained at Central Police.

He narrated that on the material day, the America 2 gang organized pangas and knives and loaded the weapons into a bus and later rounded up members who had recently been appointed into position at the Soweto Market branch and ordinary members and forced them into a bus loaded with the weapons.

He said after rounding up the 21, Police were allegedly called and immediately arrested the cadres whom he said had not committed any crime except that some of them had been appointed to take up positions after the suspension of some officials.

And the Patriotic Front has suspended some of its officials in Lusaka . According to letters obtained by the Daily Nation the PF has suspended Lusaka district chairperson Alex Besa, Soweto branch chairperson Joe Chama and Innocent Kabaso.

The trio was suspended on 18th February, 2016 by Lusaka PF district chairman Stafford Kayame.

The letters of suspension indicate that the trio was suspended for allegedly being involved in violent activities.

“The people the police have arrested are innocent and the culprits are still free. The people who masterminded the arrest of our members are those who have been suspended from the party because of their violent activities. There is a gang that has been terrorizing people and harassing marketeers and bus drivers,” Mr Kamba said.

Meanwhile, Nathan Phiri, the PF Lusaka district information and publicity secretary said youths in Zambia should endeavour to defend President Lungu because should the Head of State lose the August election, the ruling party would not be able to form government even if it had the chance of winning more parliamentary seats.

Mr Phiri said President Lungu was the constituency of the PF and that there was need for the Head of State to get maximum support from the youths.

  1. PF is a violent party; and has always been so from inception. Not too long ago they turned against one of their local leaders and gave him a good beating after he told the President “ukudia weka”. Rachael Chileshe – one of their own lunatics was badly beaten at the stadium by a fellow PF cardre for speaking ill of Lungu

    • We have always said it, PF is a violent party – how can you even a person of Kamba as your leader? Is he not the one involved in the violence and killing of a cadre during Sata/Kabimba town centre riots?

  2. Zambia Police should arrest Kennedy Kamba for colluding and shielding PF cadres found with weapons likely to be used in commiting violence in the country.
PF is a violent party with evidence as some of its members are serving in prison for murder.
Kamba is a danger to efforts by Zambians to rid political violence in the nation.

  3. Kennedy Kamba the guy is now very rich like some MMD cadres how they got rich during their time. back to the topic, PF is not really intersted in rooting out violence but being cosmetic about it. please handle this animal called violence once and for all to eliminate voter loses. why havent you handed over bus stations and markets to councils?

    • My thoughts exactly I wish they could extend this grade 12 requirement even to such *****s in the parites… this is really too low to sink in defense

  4. Proof PF take No Sides. Note the confused response by UPND and other opposition bloggers. The Police arrested those kids fair and openly. They have to prove their innocence.

    It’s all good in Zambia.

  5. we should open our eyes UPND will use every opotunity to paint PF black. They can use civil servants or those in informal sector. It is a responsibility of every patriotic Zambian to defend our party and country

  6. They like referring to themselves as Patriotic, is it in order for a lusaka pf official not to report the a same “America 2” to the police, these pf chaps have been terrorizing marketeers, bus drivers and customers since kaya, today that’s when he is saying there is Vatican 4 or is it France 6. You have been caught nappies down, just accept responsibility.

  7. Call boys turned Pf cardres have destroyed the ruling party they terrorised the travelling public with impunity @ bus stations and the late Nsanda together with late Sata absorbed these bratts to bring and cause fear and intimidation amongst any opposing views inorder to ve a grip on power.

  8. Violence is like a virus, once it starts there is no cure and it will escape where it becomes uncontrollable. The only solution being that the organisms harbouring it has itself to die. That is what will happen to Parties promoting violence for political expediency.

  9. UNIP used to have violent vigilantes that migrated to MMD. MMD also had violent cadres that migrated to PF. The same chaps that want to control bus stations and involved in illegal allocation of land/plots are specialized in belonging to any ruling party and are responsible of perpetrating violence. Some have already migrated from PF and MMD and positioned themselves in UPND, Rainbow and DF.

    • Yes UNIP used to be a violent party. It introduced “Cha Cha Cha” (named after a popular Congolese music)at its conference held at Mulungushi in Kabwe (Broken Hill) in 1961 and everybody, settlers and Africans alike, chickens and dogs and all tamed animals including the Queen had to dance to its tune. There was widespread destruction of infrastructure in Northern and Luapula Provinces, destroying schools, blocking roads, burning identification cards and marriage certificates and frustrated law and order countrywide. The ANC on the other hand was peaceful and its motto was “ukupoka icinsenda kunkoko kunakilila” whatever that meant. UPND maybe trying to shed off this peaceful image of the ANC.

  10. Comment: These are criminals and not party cadres. Arrest them, just because you don’t have a grade 12 certificate you want to cause havoc. Mwaloba ilyauma bambala. Just street vend and go back to school. You still have time.

  11. YOU HAVE ALL MISSED IT. WE ARE REPLACING HH WITH ANOTHER CONTENDER

It is becoming more clearer that the UPND has better candidates than HH and soon the truth will dawn that a vibrant and winning formula is already laid. We have had enough losses and we can’t risk 11 August with all the commotion already being witnessed from the onset of the 50+1 formula by the ruling “Pangas”. I will not hesitate to come out in the open if I hear HH is standing because he has caused us heartache, headache and nausea! It is our time to rule. All this borrowing of thieves and thugs from PF is time wasting and ridiculous. Most of those chaps like GBM since they came have made us weaker because they are so weak politically. BB
