Charly’s mother Angela issued a statement on social media over the weekend indicating that they would rather consider options from England or Belgium for the 19-year-old prospect.
Lwandamina said official procedure was followed and that it was not intended on undermining his Charly’s father and ex-Chipolopolo star Charles Muosnda who is also a personal friend of the Zambia coach.
He said it was only right to make a bold move on the boy for this months 2017 Africa Cup qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville considering that he is a strong interest for the senior Belgium national team for Charly’s services.
“Maybe I moved too fast before even talking to Charles. I would have loved maybe to go that way but I was too eager and thought we might lose out on the player,” Lwandamina said.
“If I offended Charles, I apologize.
“But we have heard some great descriptions of the boy from some great coaches, that is how great the boy is rated otherwise all Zambians have seen his potential and what we are talking about here.”
Meanwhile, 23 home-based Zambia players entered preliminary training camp in Ndola for the Group E doubleheader against Congo on March 23 at home and March 27 away.
The team consisted off all of Zambia’s CHAN team that reached the quarterfinals of this years tournament held in Rwanda.
It appears in this country we like quarrels even when it is unnecessary. Mr. Lwandamina should speak to Mr. Musonda and discuss the request! If the boy is not available on account of other commitments we should understand that!

You would call it nosense in your own sense, look at the bigger picture, as much as those boys were born in Belgium both their parents are Zambians which means there’s no any other family until they have their own families with possibly European spouses. Just a word of advice to the Musonda family (especially Charles and wife) … please be careful not give the whole world the wrong impression that Zambia, your one only REAL home, means NOTHING to you. Your children have every right to choose even England over Belgium, let alone Zambia and every sensible person will understand. Marcel Desailly (Ghanian), Patrick Vieira (Senegalese), Zidane (Algerian) and several others did the same and the trend is not about to stop. Lwandamina , look around there a lot of young lads around that can mature to be better than Charly jr . Do you have the time and resources to groom them to be the best in the world. Take a look at the fitness levels of the Chipolopolo boys after Reiner left, leaves much to be desired.

National team coaches don’t do that kind of scouting. It is for club coaches. National team schedules have no time for coaching raw talent. FAZ should have an under 16 league
