The Patriotic Front says reports that it extended the period for filing in of nominations for candidates intending to stand on the party ticket because it could not find suitable candidates are untrue.
The Post Newspapers on Friday reported that the PF is struggling to find candidates with Grade 12 certificates to on the party ticket hence the extension of the nomination [period by a further one week.
But PF Secretary General Davies Chama told Journalists that the extension is meant to allow more women to apply for various seats on the PF ticket.
Mr Chama said to the contrary, the PF is overwhelmed with the number of applications received from people intending to stand on the party ticket.
He said the adoption body is encouraging more women to come forward and apply in order to meet the 40 percent target of adopting women to contest as Members of Parliament.
“At the moment there is a stampede going on in the party for these seats, PF are all over each other applying on the PF because it is the most attractive party. This is the ticket that assures one of victory in these elections so it is not true that we are struggling to find candidates,” Mr Chama said.
Post Newspaper sure has moles inside PF, not far from the truth.

It is laughable for Zambians to bank on an MP who is not yet elected to provide electricity to you. Ask them how they will make an hydro power station with no or low water level to generate power. Unless one is talking of magic. Here is a dam wall height 120m height. The turbines are situated at an height of about 100m in height and the water level is at 10m level. Can those of you who are very intelligent tell us how this hydro power station will make the turbine produce power? I would very much want to learn from you guys. Don’t talk of solar, wind or nuclear. Zambia is dependent on hydropower since independent.
