Ruling PF says it does not believe Post Newspaper Editor-in chief Fred M’membe has joined the defense lawyers for UPND vice president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba because he believes in freedom of expression.
PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says his party does not think well-meaning Zambians would also believe that the reason that Mr. M’membe has given to represent Mr. Mwamba.
Mr. Bwalya has wondered why Mr. M’membe has now chosen to represent Mr. Mwamba for threatening the life of President Edgar Lungu when he did represent him when he was facing a court case in which he referred to late President Michael Sata as Chumbu Mushololwa.
He thinks that Mr. M’membe is representing Mr. Mwamba because he is a UPND member.
Mr. Bwalya has alleged that this is because Mr. M’membe wants the ruling PF to be removed from government.

As for Mmembe joining UPND, let him do so and see how he will bring confusion in the GBM defense. Mr GBM is definitely going behind bars with Mmembe on the defense team. Mmembes legal prowess is as good as Kabimbas, they can’t win a case, but that is the idea in this case. Lose the case for GBM so that Kabimba is installed as RM to HH without much acrimony. Everything will be blamed on Edgar as persecuting GBM and influencing the Judges. That is the grand plan by mmembe and HH. As far as I am concerned let GBM be locked up for all I care, whatever HH does, let him sort out his most painful and embarrassing defeat ever.
