THE wait is still on, after receiving an overwhelming response from all over the country for the presenter for the Zed Top 10, which airs on DStv’s Zambezi Magic, the channel has shortlisted 20 persons.
It now needs the help of the viewers to pick the Top 10. For seven days from last Friday, viewers will be voting for their favourite 10 presenters.
According to a press statement released by MultiChoice Zambia to the Weekend Mail, the finalists represent a diverse range of presenting styles, techniques and looks, all with great potential to become the ultimate Zed Top 10 video jockey.
Zambezi Magic head Addiel Dzinoreva says the Zed Top 10 is one of channel’s most popular shows every week and as such, they are looking for a multi-lingual and charismatic individual, between 18 and 26 years old, who is passionate about television, music and the world of entertainment.
“It’s a great opportunity for any young Zambian who believes they have what it takes to be the very first video jockey on Zambezi Magic,” he says.
For this round of the talent search, viewers have an opportunity to pick the top 10 presenters and eliminate the bottom 10.
Viewers can participate by going to www.zambezimagic. tv/shows/zed-top-10, viewing the top 20 entries, then voting for their favourite presenter using the online poll.
They are encouraged to create their own top 10 lists and share, comment, debate and defend their choices.
“Our viewers are now in a position to end the dreams of at least 10 prospects and at the same time move another 10 closer to their dream of becoming a television star. So, we want everyone to participate and for friends, family, and colleagues, it’s an opportunity to campaign and make a case for their favourites,” Dzinoreva says.
The top 20 are Chisha Ernest Mubambe aka Chromez, Abigail Banda, Chanda Kangwa aka Roxy Jones K, Petronella Kabwe aka Pretty Muchonella, Nsunga Chiyungi aka Sashiska, Ivy Mutale, Natasha Yombwe aka Small Tash, Chiluba Katongo, Thandiwe Zulu Vundamina aka Thandi and Taonga Kaonga.
Others are Luke Mumba, Olanimas Jackson Sampson, Ezra Blackson, Elaine Luchinde, Kasazi Lanino Lungu aka Miss Lanino, Mercy Mukwiza, Paul Kasanda, Libongani, Benas Banda and Nicoletta Chimbala Katulwende aka Miss Coletta.
