Newly elected FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has thanked government and football stakeholders for the support rendered to the Zambian game.

“I wish to thank the government through the patron of FAZ President Edgar Lungu for the support given to our football”,

Kamanga has said at Football House in Lusaka this afternoon during a press briefing.

“I wish to thank the former executive. They did well. Even in our campaigns we acknowledged their achievements. Now we have work to do to develop our football further.”

And Kamanga has urged Zambians to turn out in large numbers to cheer Chipolopolo against Congo Brazzaville.

“The fans need to come out in numbers to cheer the team. The team is in good shape and won’t be disrupted by the resignations (of former Spokesman Nkweto Tembwe, team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi and General Secretary George Kasengele). Replacements for the voids have been found.”

“For now let’s concentrate on the two upcoming important matches against Congo. I am glad government has pledged its support for these qualifiers,” the FAZ president said.

  1. How can you takeover without handover?By the way, where was Kalusha Bwalya today? As matter of courtesy and procedure, he was supposed to be there and do smooth handover. I know its painful to lose an election but maturity and professionalism has to come in and do the needful.
Please Mr Kamanga ,do not accept unnecessary resignations until after the games this Sunday.

  2. This is refreshing…please employ the best people in the business not handpicking your friends like Galu who are only there to blindly praise you at the expense of development!!

  3. Musonda Chibulu ,Nakabilima nokubilima ,its not easy managing Zambian football. You will even fail to win Cosafa cup

  4. That is the best man for the job not your uneducated Kalusha who is full of himself let him rot in SA you now have a president who lives in Zambia

  5. Bitterness poisons your soul and eventually your body is attacked by all kinds of unexplained diseases. If you want to live healthy, learn not to Haber hatred and fill your life with happiness. Let the bygones be bygones.

Kalu is no longer in control. Give him a break. Just celebrate his exist but don’t demonize him.

  6. SOCCER FANS KEEP COOL AND WATCH.REMEMBER YOU CAN NOT BECOME A HEAD COOK IF YOU ARE NOT A COOL YOURSELF.
THE SITUATION MAY TURN INTO MORE TALK SHOW THAN RESULT ORIENTED,MORE ORGANISING THE PLACE,BEUTIFYING THAN WINNIG GAMES.
WE HAVE SET A TARGET WE QUALIFY TO AFCON,WITH WORLD CUP YOU QUALIFY TO FOUR TERMS BUT IF YOU FAIL CHICKEN AND YOU SHUD THEN PACK NO TIME WORSTERS NOW
