Great Kalu denies reports that he is eyeing Kalulushi seat

Share

Zambian soccer legend Kalusha Bwalya has denied online media reports that he has applied to contest the Kalulushi parliamentary seat on the PF ticket.

A number of PF campaign groups on social media platforms have been displaying posters bearing Kalusha’s name and portrait with slogans such as Kalu for PF and Kalu Kolopa.

His sirname Bwalya has however been misspelt as Balya.

But in a tweet on his official Tweeter handle, Kalusha who recently lost his FAZ presidency to Andrew Kamanga said any involvement in politics.
“No. Not true my brother,” said Kalusha in response to a question on Twitter from football fan Chalimba Phiri.

  1. From football whitewash to political whitewash. What a loser! Better stay away now when the UPND is still breathing fire!

    • He was a good football player in 1988, that’s 28 years ago. Please learn to forget some of these things. Some of us were not even born yet and we can’t see the greatness some ldiots still want to associate with this loser. Don’t think he can be a good politician.

    • @ Suntwe wa Suntwe, For your information once a person is classified as great in his field that classification is for life. Take for instance the great Pele of Brazil. Why do you condemn Kalusha and yet you adore HH who has lost elections three or four times? Who is a greater loser between Kalu and HH?

    • What whitewash you moron you wanted him to remain Faz President forever.
Fact is he has played good football which you nor your siblings will never play, he added value to this Country’s pride which u will never do so just shut up.

Your hatred, bitterness and jealousy will kill you

  2. Just join Kalu. You have all the credentials: being investigated by Interpol for corruption at FIFA; being investigated by ACC for FAZ disappeared monies etc.

  3. KALU has no grade 12 credentials, he’s a high school dropout, the corrupt fool needs to stay away from Zambian politics.

  4. sunte wasunte you are such a moron is it kalu’s problem that your father never f**ckd your mother to have you in the 80’s. kalu was a star and he is still a star so think properly young boy.

    • you have just demonstrated that those born in Kalushas time have got issues because Suntwe has come out as a more sane being than you, despite his short-comings

  5. Look kalu has not committed a crime…he is a football icon……if you were not there its ok….us we were there…..lol

  6. Great Kalu, you have no apologies to make to anyone here. If you desire to stand please it is within your right as a Zambian, and a distinguished one for that matter, to do so without being dissuaded by people who seem to just be in the habit of waking up to say how that others cannot do or be this or that. I was not with you on continuing as FAZ President but on this one I’ll be with you!

    • Suntwe wa suntwe, has you or any of yo relatives been called great, well Kalusha has been called ‘GREAT KALU’ and it will stick forever, he has gone down in history as the great footballer of Zambia what about yu what have you done for Mother Zed

  7. #ooby no need to insult. Just educate the younger #suntwe that Martin Luther King, Patrice Lumumba, Julia Chikamoneka, Pele, Albert Einstein are all great people even when were born in an era before the iPad or VVT-i or Netflix.
Kalusha would do well to sit back & reflect on why he lost at FAZ before thrusting himself in the limelight again. But then its hard to hold back a leo, is it?

  8. You mean if you were not there in 1988 you didn’t watch him in the 90’s also. 1994 when Zambia almost won AFCON with that Elijah Litana header only for Nigerians to hit two times. I was young then but i remember it like my Mulenga and Jelita stories. Learn to appreciate Kalusha is a great football icon. None beter than him ever since he hang his boots. Young chaps!!

  9. The man is covered in corruption scandals, he failed as an administrator at FAZ, reducing a potentially rich association into a bankrupt drain of GRZ resources. Now you want him to be administrator of a town??

  10. Great one indeed, we still remember the times of 80’s, Mighty Mufulira Wonderers from Black Pool Mufulira. In the times of Charles Musonda, Johnston Bwalya, Efford Chabala, Ashos Melu and many more may their souls rest in pease. Dennis Liwewe being in the commentary Box Yayayayayaayaa. Go on man we are behind you.

  11. Do people read a story before commenting? Kalu says he is not standing but you are hellbent on commenting on his becoming a politician.

  12. Kalusha is and will remain a star whether he has stolen or not!!! Who has not stolen in their lives? Let them start throwing stones at Kalusha and see what God will do to you shameless sinners!!!! VIVA Kalu!!! We were lucky to have watched real soccer with Chitalu, Kalu, Mbasela, John Mofya, Ashios Melu, Efford Chabala, Jan Simulambo, the list is endless, not forgetting the commentaries by our another icon… Denis Liwewe!!! My God those days at the slaughter house … Our independence Stadium…not your heroes stadium…loosing every day!!!

  13. There is nothing wrong Kalusha Bwalya taking part in politics. He is a Zambian and hence has the right to associate with any political party of his own choice. Kalu don’t chicken out make a try. Who knows you may end up being a minister of sport and youth development in case PF retains power. I am certain any political party would agree to adopt Kalu as an MP, he is a well known public figure who can easily be sold to voters.
