SENIOR Chief Puta of the Bwile-speaking people of Luapula Province has called on his subjects to support the Government of President Edgar Lungu owing to the fulfilment of the promised infrastructural development being delivered in Chienge.

The chief, who was speaking in an interview, said the unprecedented development spearheaded by President Lungu had seen the long neglected Chiengi-Kaputa and Chienge-Lupiya roads finally being worked on.

“I am so happy with President Lungu’s administration because for years we have been crying for a road up to Chienge and finally we are seeing it being built,” Chief Puta said.

Two contractors, China Chico and Copperfield, are already on site and preliminary works, including bush clearing on the two trunk roads, have already started.

The chief, who was highly elated by the development, promised his support and that of his subjects to President Lungu to ensure Chienge did not lag behind in development.

  1. If it were a Tonga chief, people would have risen to their feet and the whole thing would have gone viral among the tribalists.

    • People have the democratic right to say what they think is in best national interest. They are free to ecourage others to vote accordingly after soul searching on who has the real temperament, would unite the country, promote national interest against imperial orders, who would promote democratic space, foster a trully inclusive and representative people’s Government as well spare the country from a culture of retribulations and implosions? Remember, from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. There comes a time in one’s life when you hit a strategic inflection point where national interest other than personal takes precedence. I believe a unitarist with inclusive leadership traits is better than a know it all wolf. Presidential leadership is about consensus and advisory and not…

    • How does tribalism come in? Lungu is Nsenga. Stop being paranoid and have positive thinking. Come 11th August kolopa alimwi alimwi!

    • All chiefs should support the Republican President…not a president of an opposition party just because he belongs to the same tribe. In this case chief Puta is a Bwile speaking chief not a Ngoni from Eastern Province…This is how it should be…

    • By August all chiefs will endorse Lungu except in that tribal province of southern. Hh to be retired in august after losing for the 7th time . Hez a rejected product pa Zambia. No matter how many times he is dusted and put back on the shelves, he cant sale

  2. Supporting ECL is a commitment of every patriotic and sober Zambian with sense of reality spared by utopia. What would justify not supporting President Lungu anyways when the man took over a country that was in deep socio-economic hemorrhage impossible to turn around under 1 year? He has kept our country united and resilient from the temptation of conflagmentation long pushhed regionalists. We need unity of purpose under a fellow nationalist to correct the current enduring trajectory. But corrective space is not possible under a regionalist agenda.

    • @Senior Citizen
Your support for Lungu even in these hard times is amazing, I hope you show up physically & offer him support the day he goes to face the courts. Big up fam!

    • Hey hey hey. Read before you comment. Don’t arrack the chief for nothing. It’s a misleading headline. There is nowhere in the article where the chief is calling on his subjects to support Lungu. It’s an article written by a diehard PF cadre most likely. Chief Puta is critique of this government and cannot be fooled by a prompt road project only meant to win votes and then abandoned.

    • @Senior
My friendly advice to you is simple and straight forward ‘ PLEASE STAY OFF THE DRUGS’ you are Hallucinating too much.

    • What a laughable assertion!! “Every SOBER MINDED Zambian should VOTE FOR A DRUNKARD OF A PRESIDENT!! REALLY????????????? Senior citizen, what are you smoking of late?? A Little chamba LACED with a bit of AMAFI from PamaFI????? Guess it really sends you on a high!! Keep it up man!!

Vote wisely 11/8/2016!! Vote Zambia Forward!! PamaFi Kuya bebele!!

      #Chagwamustfall!!

      I thank you!!

    • ECL, REALLY, DOESN’T NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING SUCH AS ECONOMICS. HE JUST HAS TO HAVE AN IDEA. HE IS A LAWYER BY PROFESSIONAL. ALL HE NEEDS TO IS DEPLOY EXPERTS IN VARIOUS SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY TO DEAL WITH VARIOUS RESPECTIVE ISSUES OF SUCH AREAS.@3 BA ERIC CHANDA, YOU SOUND VERY UN EDUCATED. BECAUSE, SOMEONE EDUCATED WOULD KNOW KNOW BASIC THINGS SUCH DELEGATION OF DUTIES OR SPECIALIZATION OF OCCUPATION.

    • Peter, it’s exactly what you have said that ecl doesn’t seem to know.Mwanawasa did it why can’t he did it as Grey Zulu would say?

    • @eric Chanda and who do you think knows economics hh or is it gbm/sampa these guys are just theoretical no practical. We need a leader like ECL who knows how to work with people. Ask yourself how long it took for things to look up in mwanawasa time?

    • Peter, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!! Chagwa, just NEEDS TO HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT NOTHING & HE WILL MAKE IT!!!

Vote Wisely 11/8/2016!! Vote Zambia Forward!! Vote UPND!!

      #chagwamustfall!! #PamaFikuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

  3. What happened to Chiefs being non-partisan? The Chief was supposed to tell his subjects to support a government that will be elected after 08/11. If Chitumukulu tells his subject to support the opposition because of the potential that the opposition has in eliminating the abject poverty his people are facing now & also the intimidation that he’s facing from the ruling party, what will everyone make of that move, even for people in the ruling party?

  4. #panama, my point too. If it was a Tonga chief they would call them tribalists. If it was a non Tonga chief supporting HH, they would threaten to cut off support or say that Chiefs should not show sides in politics.i see brown envelope here. I will also tell my chief to tell his subjects to support HH

  5. Hey hey hey. Read before you comment. Don’t arrack the chief for nothing. It’s a misleading headline. There is nowhere in the article where the chief is calling on his subjects to support Lungu. 6. @5, what are you going to tell your fellow tribalists that we don’t already know? Your voting patterns are in the public domain remember? The tribal basis of your party has been the subject of national debate ever since Commentator took over UPND from Andy. The debate has only subsided now because one humble Edgar Lungu in his quest for national unity gave Commentator some breathing space by discouraging tribal talk. But that debate is resurfacing again, what with the tantrums of one VJ whose tribal basis is hard to conceal.

    • Terrible, can you stop with your tribalism. I thought you being in a foreign country where you’re being accommodated with no regards to your little tribe will make you embrace diversity. Humble Lungu shot himself in the foot with that 51 percent and he definitely not going to succeed by pushing and using that tribal thing to campaign especially when people are hungry. Kaunda tried to bring us together but you are trying to divide us, not knowing that divided we fall.

  7. Ba Puta just enjoy your brown envelop quietly.
We have so much of double standards by the ruling PF elite because if the same chief had said this of an opposition party, he would hav bn insulted and threatened from all angles by the PF leaders all in the name of, ‘chiefs must remain non-partisan’.Anyway August tepatali we r voting u OUT!

    • These are hungry Chiefs just trying to get through hard times and fill their bellies. So he has to say whatever makes his paymaster Kaminamisa Lungu happy

      Meanwhile Alesia HH

  8. Are his subjects going to eat that road? What a dim chief. Instead of asking for sustainable employment for his people so they can improve their lives for the long term he gets happy about a stupid road. The people of Lupula need jobs, homes, food, good education not roads that are costing taxpayers hefty amounts of money. By the way, it’s not Lungu building the road but Zambian tax payers. It’s not a favour to build that road, he is supposed to do it as his job. Not only that road but all Zambian roads. It’s time Zambians realize that this president is using state funds and projects for his policatical gain when these are national and nothing to do with professional failure(PF)s

    • U are the same *****s who complain like fuz when roads are bad. How can u have develpment with poor road infrastructure?? And you claim yo leader is an economist?? Street economist indeed

  9. this chief is a swine with no manners not even bad ones. you’re eating alone why should you force everyone to support lungu who has failed everything? we as Zambians are free to chose the best man the rest are to be put to rest.

  10. Zambians….is it foolishness or not understanding English
Chief Puta said he will support the pf government based on the on going developmental projects taking place in the areas…Eh
The only government the has worked like pf is unip…
A lot of developmental projects are taking place country wide let’s give credit where it’s due. This witchcraft spirit of just ill talking and appreciating when one dies is bad.
On the roads RDA has introduced troll gates and fees
In the first quarter of this year RDA has collected K 180 million. Zambians negatively will not help us,for once can we be positive in our minds. ROMANS12:1-2

  11. This is what old man Sata will be remembered for…making our Chiefs partisan…these chaps have been spoiled with high allowances they think they are ministers.

  12. Lungu, like mugabe, will not stop at anything to win election including bribery. Did you notice how fast he sent his police to kick out hh & his team when they went calling upon some chiefs in the east. We have no problem in people exercising there democratic rights – that is what we are fighting for, but are against the double standards. I am not a tonga, but i say everyone should be alloed to give their opinion & suppot to anyone or party they think would make a difference in their live, without being branded tribslists. Who have ever head hh campain on tribal lines, saying vote for me because i am a tonga? And pf, haven’t we heard every speaket talking aboit tribe? PF IS THE BIGST TRIBAL PARTY, WANTING TO VOTED ON TRIBAL LINES, NOT UPND.

  13. His royal highness is free to express his views, but let him speak for himself and not his subjects. He does not own anybody.

  14. The truth is that Pf has brought in more hunger. . Many Zambians are struggling to survive and the chief is telling his people to continue with failed leadership. no logic in this.

  15. Kolopa. Ba Zambia finshi mulefwaya natwishi fwebeneee lungu ye lungu ye lungu ye uletufwaya singing

  16. It’s sad he has had to do this. But these elections whether we like it or not will be fought on tribal ground for obvious reason. I am not in support of it but people who dance at bad economic news from IMF et al and spend all their energy diverting Western diplomats can not be allowed to win for their lack of Patriotism. You must live your country and fellow countrymen.

  17. @Banda,though i 100% know that you are not Banda but one of the bantubotatwe cadres who believe in the “UTOPIA WORLD being promised by hh,NOTE THAT PF HASNT BROUGHT ANY HUNGER IN ZAMBIA.JUST WORK HARD AND UPGRADE YOUR EDUCATION IF YOU WANT TO LIVE A DECENT LIFE!!CHIEF PUTA IS VERY RIGHT HERE.PF DOESNT EVEN NEED TO CAMPAIGN IN LUAPULA BECAUSE THE DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS DONE THERE BY PF SINCE 2011 SPEAK FOR THEM.LUAPULA PEOPLE CRIED FOR MANSA-LUWINGU ROAD,NCHELENGE-KAPUTA ROAD VIA PUTA,KAWAMBWA -MPOROKOSO ROAD,SAMFYA-LUWINGU ROAD FROM MUSAILA,ETC SINCE 1964.BUT NO GOVNT HEARD OUR CRIES AND ONLY PF HAS FULFILED THESE PROJECTS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1964!!SO WHAT CAN THE OPPOSITION LIE TO VOTERS IN LUAPULA?KIKIKI!!wina azalila mu 2016!!

  18. Do not think that if you experience Load shedding in urban areas like Lusaka that it is everywhere,no.
    2016 Ichintu cintu tumwene.

  19. Puta is tonga by tribe. He is actually Mudenda. Since Luapula is mostly maternlineal he is entitled to be chief among Bwiles. Whatbis shocking is why now? He has always known the PF plans for Chienge. Anyway i wouldnt waste an ounce of my trust in this fake chief. Kolopa bebele August 11…

  20. How many times Is this chief puta going to change, just the other day he had endorsed HH, and he was insulting the incumbent Mp Kapaya. If you ask me this man is not normal, nd he is a real double standard, he is endorsing edger lungu simply because he has a case to answer where he had his kapaso brutally killed in a brawl he had started in his chiefdom.

  21. If it was a Tonga chief, these doggs would have been barking 24 hours! Bakabwa aneba!

    Chief Puta waba itole!

  22. A time is coming when all chiefs shall be treated like rendered void.ECL has failed Zambia.Zambia is the second worst country after Swaziland as at now in the southern region of Africa. There is no branch of government that’s works, everything has deteriorated and if we are not careful we will become impoverished.Don’t just blame on the government but on us citizens too.We are lazy, greedy and too idle.
