Transparency International Zambia has demanded that the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Reserve Agency clarifies the alleged dubious export of subsidized maize to neighboring countries amidst a shortage of the commodity in the country.
TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu told Hot FM News that the allegations are serious and needs a clear explanation from Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda and the Food Reserve Agency.
Mr. Lungu has also challenged law enforcement Agencies to quickly move in and investigate the matter following the reports.
Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali yesterday accused Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda and the Food Reserve Agency of conniving and selling subsidized maize to neighboring countries amidst a shortage of the commodity in the country.
Mr Tayali further challenged President Lungu to fire Lubinda, his PS Julius Shawa and FRA Executive Director Chola Kafwabulula adding that the three will only continue in their offices if the President is part to what they are doing.
He went on to accuse the ACC of being inept and impotent and that they were not doing what they were set out to do.
A Lungu, A Lungu munzako can’t catch any thief. He has no teeth to catch corrupt people. You will hear what he will say. Nothing! Only other people will start explaining about the issue. How many people has EL reprimanded over corruption? None. Does it mean there is no corruption? It is massive.
It’s extreme folly to expect accountability from a kleptocracy. Chagwa is the mastermind of all the rot in govt. Anyway it is “globo” – the WB, IMF and UK have stopped all aid to Mozambique due to serious corruption. Not surprisingly, this is the new favourite country of Chagwa.

When they said its UPND causing the shortages now the truth is about to erupt. We said it that there is no way an opposition party be involved in maize export ii full view of the ruling party. That was utterly nonsense to push the blame on HH.
It amazes me that TIZ is even in existence in Zambia. Shouldn’t what Tayali tell all in his article have been unearthed in part by TIZ? This is like attempting to slam the door to a cattle (yea you heard me right, cattle) kraal after all the animals have escaped.

If Kafwabulula is corrupt and abusing FRA funds, that’s not doing well, that’s not success. Getting him to jail is not pulling him down but showing him that thieves are not welcome in Zambia.

How many allegations have been blatantly ignored by lungu ,ACC and PF ?? The new government will have to renew ACC mandate to investigate all these thefts and enter negotiations with the South African government to repatriate our wealth stashed away in that country by the PF thieves.

Knowing Zambia I would not be surprised if the police are busy helping the same culprits hide evidence and rehearse how they will be interrogated during investigations. Just sue them in a foreign court because even the lawyers and judges are complicit in such silly acts. It is as if fo.ols will live forever if they plunder an already flaccid population!!
