UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has called on UPND Members to conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the August 11th General Elections.
In his message to his supporters ahead of the campaign period which starts tomorrow, Mr. Hichilema has advised members to respect and guard the peace.
Mr. Hichilema has called on his supporters to resist provocation at all times and condemn violence in the strongest terms.

On the Eve of Campaigns
On the eve of campaigns we would like to thank our members and supporters for their hard work and dedication from the bottom of our heart.
Together we have greatly grown the party and we can be proud of the way we have opened our arms to welcome new members from all backgrounds and areas of the country.
Our call to you today is to continue these efforts over the coming weeks. Continue recruiting more members and reaching out to new people. We can achieve more together.
Remember our strength is in our unity and in the power of our message that we want to deliver economic liberation to all Zambians.
First and foremost, however, we call on our supporters to respect and guard the peace. We must resist provocation at all times and condemn violence in the strongest terms. Those witnessing violent and criminal acts are urged to report incidents quickly to police officers and party structures. We will do all that we can to support victims and push for justice.
To those of you who are as of yet undecided, as you make up your mind in the coming weeks we encourage you to come to our rallies. You will be most welcome and can witness for yourselves the UPND spirit and unity of purpose.
We look forward to sharing our vision, plans and manifesto with you all in the coming days and weeks. Tomorrow we kick-off with various rallies with details of our official campaign launch to follow. All our welcome.

Its either you have just come from your Chundu Chaitwa or been too busy with your party wishful planning meeting of Amagedone Mayhem of Shiakalima, GBM, HH and Guy Scott. President Lungu has been signing this song loud and clear that no violence and there shall be no mayhem. You try it and see how rapidly you will be come headless chickens in your Chundu Chaitwa. Scott will even fail to find an escape route to his home in Scottland.

@ Patriot the UPND has sung the song similarly so many times however disadvantaged from being heard just because the media house ZNBC who gets our K 3’s only chooses to parrot only what comes from the one who was proven to have stolen from a vulnerable widow! I see nothing wrong with HH issuing a statement to his party members and sympathizers! Agreeing with @ Obatala Lungu Shedding Jameson Whiskey, President Edgar Lungu is no match to Mwanawasa the lawyer let alone the former DPP Mutembo Nchito in more aspects! Simple example there is no record of Mwanawasa or Nchito being suspended because of stealing from a widow!

Leaders must set good examples. The way President Lungu handled the amended constitution and the dissolution of Parliament and his Cabinet is very poor. B4 signing the amendment he should have thru the Minister of Justice, and Attorney General made sure that there was no confussion on this issue. He signed the amendment knowing very well that there are lacunas in the amended constitution which he is now seeking to manipulate and interpret to his advantage. He has refused to accept the AG’s legal advice and has assumed a role of a judge and jury in the dissolution of his Cabinet. He has clearly shown that he doesn’t respect our constitution and his oath of office. How can he be trusted? To elect this man is to breed a dictator in making. Any development agenda is always good. The only problem with pf is unbalanced devopment done out of un realistic borrowing.
An unwise person exhausts all his income on mealie- meal believing in its importance. Boy! You also need relish, cooking oil, salt, etc.
You need to spend on education, medication-not only structures.
Universities being built require motivated staff to run them, an envvironment where graduates can practice and be appreciated, education support mechanisms, etc.
As a government, behave responsibly, not like you expect your death the following day, and therefore care less on what is to happen theere after. A good gvernment should own up the future of its country.
