MMD President Dr. Nevers Mumba has maintained that it does not matter what the Mutati faction will do to try and legitimize what happened in Kabwe, but the that ‘Rupiah Banda Convention’ remains an illegality and Felix Mutati remains expelled from the MMD, as ratified by the Lusaka High Court.

Dr. Mumba said what transpired in Kabwe this weekend was just a circus and all the developments and resolutions passed at that gathering were not binding on the MMD of which he remains president.

In a press statement released on Saturday evening, Dr. Mumba said it is clear to all who have followed issues as they have developed in the MMD, that the destabilization of the party that started in 2012 soon after he beat Mr. Mutati, had been sponsored and supervised by Mr. Rupiah Banda.

He said it was unfortunate that Mr. Banda, whom he would have loved to remain as a retired statesman, had chosen to embarrass and expose himself by attending that illegal gathering and making the remarks that the gathering had ‘produced’ a candidate whom he wanted.

Dr. Mumba said, Mr. Banda had long been the shadow manipulating the challenges in the MMD and that the party had never been free of his influence since he ‘retired’ from politics.

He said the party is now relieved to bid the final farewell to Mr. Banda as he finally leaves the MMD to join Mr Mutati.

    • What does this say about our men of God who reconciliation meetings, My advice to Joshua Banda is take the money but keep my God out of it, Just say I am trying to help as a person not as a man of God to me you appear like a man of GOLD.

  1. Who will then contest the elections on the MMD ticket? Did Felix Mutati manage to pay the nomination fee before the ECZ deadline?

  2. This Pastor Mumba guy is funny – if the Courts of Law sanctioned the Convention, who is he to say it was illegal and call it “Rupiah Banda Convention”?

    • Pastor Mumba will say, it’s the same high court that upheld the expulsion of Mutati from the MMD. So technically, Mutati remains expelled. By the way, I care less about what goes on in MMD.

  3. I could have voted for ECL due to RB i wont,i could have voted for HH due to gu scot, miles sampa i wont.

  4. MR BANDA IS NOT A NOT A SINCERE AND FEAR MAN. HE STAYED AWAY FROM ACTIVE POLITICS WHEN SATA WAS ALIVE. NEVERS STOOD WITH HIM WHEN SATA WAS EMBARRASSING HIM LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE. NEVERS EVEN CAME UP WITH A SLOGAN CALLED ‘DON’T KUTINA’. NOW THAT SATA IS NO MORE, THE GUY HAS COME OUT OF RETIREMENT. HE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT. MUTATI ALSO, HOW DO YOU GO TO THE CONVENTION WITHOUT THE BLESSING OF NEC MEMBERS AND 2 MONTHS BEFORE A GENERAL ELECTION? ZAMBIAN POLITICS??????

  5. Wasn’t this RB also at the PF campaign launch at the Heroes stadium? The man behaves like a retired unsuccessful fisherman who has now taken up a ‘career’ in witchcraft.

    • Hahahahaha…..career in witchcraft……..Hahahahahahaha. RB is refusing to retire. He wants to eat with both hands. He wants to have a hand in choosing Ministers like the fake Kaingu. ECL please do not agree to be dictated to or to have your hands tied because of RB. Be a man of your own this time around.

  6. That Mutati is now MMD President is good news. Rupiah was a very good president loved by investors, he removed povety and started road works. Mutati, Musokotwane, Chituo, Dora, Simbao, Simusa, Vincent and others were intelligent leaders in MMD. The economy was moving and development was excellent. We were almist aproaching SA. Please reignite MMD now that the hindrance has been removed. MMD can come back to power and continue developing this country.. Is Mutati standing so that we vote for him?

  7. I thought the two reconciled a few weeks back. Whoever trusts Rupiah is a f…!!! That’s all I can say.

  8. RB is a snake. A black mamba for that matter. He never forgave Nervers for stopping him contesting the last elections. Since then he has undermined Mumba by sponsoring Mutati with the money he store from zambians. The man is installing Mutati as MMD president in Kabwe and an hour later he’s at heroes stadium receiving a PF T-shirt. Where does he belong? What kind of treachery is this? These presidents who come into office through sympathy are shocking failures if not annoying.

    • Dr Nevers Mumba is an evangelist and generally his status technically place him at a point he he can’t shepherd a church or any organisation however help it grow through member recruitment. In church he s a new member finder and not a shepherd. Dr Mumba s a true evangelist and has lived that hence the better he comes to accept that the better for MMD and himself.

At this point I wish him not to look to Mutati or Mbulakulima but himself and redifine his relevance to MMD. For the sake of MMD the father of multiparty participatory democracy in Zambia, he should move and support one Feligo and strategies on how the can be relevant to 2016 general election. In this game no one is a loser or winner but the people of MMD.

MMD congratulations for the bald decision taken to save MMD…

  9. As much as respect your opinions over Mr. Mutati, I would also like to be convinced why he he should be MMD president.I personally feel he is a man of low moral standing who cannot be trusted. He is a man who was defeated and failed to accept that Nevers beat him at the last convention .How did he find himself supporting UPND last time?I feel sorry for Dr.Mumba.Politics is as dirty as he can see it now.Dont be discourage tbough.Kamaga is at the helm of FAZ now. Take a leaf from that.Good luck

    • Couldn’t you read the signs that Mumba wasn’t popular? If started a story in public about Mumba, the general response would be that he should go back to the pulpit. Most Zambians didn’t trust him especially after he abandoned his party for a position in the opposition
