UPND Chairperson for Elections Ackson Sejani says his Party will put in measures to protect their bill boards which are being vandalised by PF cadres.

Speaking at media briefing today Mr Sejani said his party has the right to protect its campaign bill boards and that the Electoral Commission of Zambia should put its house in order to ensure that the extreme provocation coming from the PF is curtailed.

He said the party had fundamental rights which will not be taken away from them and that no one should condemn them when they institute measures to protect their bill boards saying the agrasers are known but no one seems to be condemning them.

He explained that their “super human tolerance and extraordinary patience ” must not be mistaken for weakness but that was not the case because they are concerned and that party President Hakainde Hichilema has told his followers to remain peaceful even under extreme provocation as is the case.

He said their is a limit to everything and that what the party is asking for is justice from the people with powers to ensure that their campaign bill boards are protected and that if the police can not do that then the party will protect the bill boards by themselves.

He also called on the PF to stop provoking UPND beyond human petience.

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema’s campaign bill boards are being vandalised by suspected PF cadres who are either ripping the bill boards from their stands or defacing them.

  1. Use spy cameras to catch the bastards. Place the motion activated minute spy video cameras (work with WIFI) on all billboards.

  2. Just retaliate. Punch for punch is the only way you can defeat the PF. Diplomacy only applies to a group of sensible people. Not these characters.

    • Bigthroat,

Be realistic! Punch for punch in a PF stronghold like Lusaka? This is a sure recipe for the physical annihilation of the UPND.

    • Matero incidence is there to speak for itself. PF and UPND should learn to co-exist, non of them own Zambia. PF stop destroying UPND campaign materials, just distribute yours.

  3. It is quite disturbing that after 51 years of independence the country is where it is now, a powdered keg. It will just take one small spark and the country will go up in flames. I earnestly appeal to the police to be impartial and arrest the perpetrators of these crimes. I also appeal to the PF to reign in their cadres, and let the full extent of the law take its course on those found wanting.

  4. im sorry but what kind of measures are they talking about, im sorry but when did Hakainde tell hakaidians to remain peaceful,I remember him telling the police to do thier jobs fairly, the churches called for a meeting which asked the party presidents to preach peace to thier followers, immediatly Edgar informed the nation saying my sheep hear my voice and yes we heard him loud and clear, my guess is those ripping those posters are hakaidians looking for simpathy, the very meeting hakainde simply said I have heard and in good time I shall address the upnd, has he bothered to address them? maybe u heard him, maybe they will protect the bill boards by those upnd thugs gbm was training with machettes, ati if u want to slow him down aim low,but if u want to shut him down aim high, chances are these…

  5. Most African leaders use this approach during elections time, provoke the opposition hard enough in order to unleash the ‘full might’ of the law for all that take the law into their own hands. These elections will be won by Truth……institutions are run by people, slowly but surely, sensitive credible information will find it’s way to the public’s attention, fate and destiny has a way of coming through, irregardless. We are strongly praying for leadership from the ruling regime and opposition likewise. One death of any cadre will erupt into a mayhem that will take the army to restore. But we need not reach such a level.

  6. Vote UPND so that we make UPND and HH billboards permanent feature of Zambian polity! I am busy recruiting PF young people via social media to UPND.
