Al Ahly visit Zesco in Group A opener

Zesco United kick-off their 2016 CAF Champions League Group A campaign next month with a home date against Al Ahly of Egypt.

The record 8-time African champions will travel to Ndola on June 18.

Other teams in Group A are Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire giants ASEC Mimosa.

Zesco well be away on match day two in Morocco to face Wydad in a mid-week fixture on June 28.

George Lwandamina’s side will then host ASEC on July 16 and later travel to Abidjan on July 26.

Zesco will be on the road for their penultimate Group A match against Al Ahly on August 17 before Wydad visit Ndola on August 25.

Group winners and runners-up will qualify to the semifinals in September to face the top two finishers from Group B.

Zamalek, Enyimba, Mamelodi Sundowns and Entente Setif are in Group B.

  1. This is a big hurdle to jump for Zesco they need to prepare well this time around because Egyptian sides are no push overs. Zesco need to work more on their ball posession in most of their games which i have seen them play they fail to keep the ball for longer periods this is where matches are won or lost.They will need to keep more ball possession to frustrate their opponents weather in their half or the opponents
