Suspended MMD National Secretary Mwansa Mwansa Mbulakulima has charged that MMD President Nevers Mumba acted emotionally when he announced an alliance with the UPND.
Commenting on the alliance, Mr Mbulakulima said Dr Mumba should have reflected on his political and personal life before running to UPND.
Mr Mbulakulima said Dr Mumba has not solved any of his many problems by resolving to form an alliance with the UPND.
“Mumba should have reflected through his MMD leadership bumpy journey,” he said.
Mr Mbulakulima said Dr Mumba should have first of all resolved his problems and gone as a clean man to the UPND because even where he went he would find his enemies who left him.
He said the twelve former Members of Parliament who recently endorsed and joined the UPND left the party because they did not agree with the leadership style of Dr Mumba and now he would find them in UPND.
Mr Mbulakulima said Dr Mumba’s journey from the time he took over the MMD presidency from former Republican President Rupiah Banda his journey had always been bumpy up to date.
He said Dr Mumba had only taken his problems to the UPND following his decisions to back president Hichilema.
“I know Mumba very well. I don’t think this decision has come from deep down his heart.
“He (Mumba) has acted emotionally to what happened in Kabwe at the convention. We have talked about this issue before with him (Mumba) and I know that the decision did not come from his heart but he has emotionally reacted,” Mr Mbulakulima said.
Yesterday the MMD leader decided to officially sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema with the sole purpose of working together ahead of the August 11 general elections.
The MoU stipulated that the two political parties should continue working out modalities of furthering their partnership.
Dr Mumba said the national executive committee (NEC) had convened last week in Chibombo and unanimously resolved to form an alliance with the UPND ahead of the August 11 general elections.
No, he saw that Lungu has no vision, is clueless, fails to stop violence even though he is commander-in-chief, condones abuse of PoA and corruption…has run the economy down and now we have to dance to IMF…need we say more?
He may have done, but that was the only viable course of action.

I can see Mbulakulima has a soft spot in his heart for Dr Mumba. I suggest you go and sit down and have a chat with him……….it’s not too late and there are no permanent enemies in politics.
Nevers Mumba has done what any of his critics would have done if they were in his shoes. He took the Zero Option which was the only option on the table after Rupia and Mutati cunningly snatched and ran away with the other option while Mumba was still nervously scratching his head for choice.

Under the reigns of Rupia and ECL the country has horribly gone down because of their corrupt minds. Let’s all support this alliance and for vote for change. We want a better Zambia for all. Dr Never MUMBA is a man of integrity who brought in the idea of rebranding the MMD and play clean and straight politics to light up the tunnel, but the corrupt minds did not receive that very well. The most senseless thing to happen this week was Mutati wrestling the MMD Presidency from Mumba and immediately surrendering the MMD corpse to Chakolwa. What was Mutati thinking?! He could have maintained a semblance of dignity by claiming that he was too late to contest and would instead support his Parliamentary candidates. As it is, there is absolutely no reason for MMD to contest any parliamentary seats because that would mean not supporting PF.

all of you in MMD and indeed all the major parties are obsessed with ruling such that they are all losing objectivity. what is in ruling that makes people lose their marbles? i have refused to believe its service there is more to politics than meets the eye. how does a man getting 50-60,000 per month dump his job and become an MP an stick to it till he has run 4-5 times as an MP? Mumba is not MMD, why is it that there are no known MPs in his camp? It is done and dusted for him. Registrar of Societies recognizes Felix Mutati as MMD president, not Mumba.

Dr. Mumba could have first resigned from MMD and the join upnd. The first thing that comes to my mind is that the man is just there to have PF removed without checking what is in stall for him thereafter. People with such motives are the ones who regret the most. unpd has its own vision but it come to pass that there vision has been diluted by acidic people who have recently joined.
1. Firstly, all the people joining upnd are chanting that PF must be removed. To me they are moving where they think it is hot. The moment the hotness turns cold they will turn their backs but by that time the charcoal fire is gone.

There are two factions in MMD. One led by Mutati who went and held a convention citing the MMD constitution and the Pastor Mumba faction which have refused to hold the convention also citing the MMD constitution. I havent read the MMD constitution so can some one kindly articulate and expound of which one of the two are legitimate MMD office bearers?
