MMD President Dr Nevers Mumba says his decision to endorse UPND President Hakainde Hichilema is final.
Some critics have questioned Dr Mumba’s decision to sign an MoU with the UPND describing it as an ill-tempered move.
But Dr Mumba insisted that Mr Hichilema is ripe for the leadership of Zambia as President.
“The people of Zambia have resolved to move this country forward. This requires a visionary leadership that above all, has morality and Integrity to deliver for mother Zambia,” Dr Mumba said.
“I have no doubt that at this moment, I speak for the Zambians when I say that the UPND and New Hope MMD combined effort, under the able leadership of our flag bearer, President Hakainde Hichilema represents all the good things which we currently aspire for as a people.”
He added, “I wish to state that President HH is ripe for the leadership of this country as President. May God be with us all as we prepare for the coming elections.”

Some people may not like it but HH is a cut above the rest. HH’s moral integrity is unquetionable compared to one thief,drunkard,womaniser, crook and hypocrite. Indeed visionary HH should be given a chance to serve as President and rescue Zambia from the jaws of ECL’s misrule and mismanagement of the Zambian economy. The visionless Lungu will not turnaround the Zambian economy. HH has clear ideas on how to drive the Zambian economy into a prosperous future. Zambians are lucky to have an exemplary leader like HH.

Pastor Never Mumba is a very important and adorable man in Zambia and has shown that a pastor can be smart and a pastor can be relevant in politics. I THINK this time he is supporting a man of the moment. I hardly endorse people but let’s give credit where it is due. Hakainde Hichilema has achieved big time in his personal life and it’s good Zambia has chosen to give him a chance. I was sceptical but when I heard how he got promoted at Coopers and lybrand I opened my ears and I THINK he can help transform Zambia. God bless Zambia.

Since Dr. Mumba he claims to be a man of God & mentioned God in his statement, its difficult to agree or refuse because he has not told us who gave him the vision or speaking through him. Is it a political statement which doesn’t need to involve God’s name or God speaking through him. Has he retired from God’s work so that we take him like any other politician even if such politician mentions God’s name? I don’t have a problem if this came from any other person like Fr. Bwalya who doesn’t prophesise or ECL, Mumbi Phiri or GBM or HH even if they mention God’s name I may take it lightly. But for a man of God like Dr. Mumba, he honestly has to speak with power that, that is what God has said so that we follow his guidelines & do what will please God, but not proposals or suggestions…
