PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says there will be no negative imprecations that will arise from the missing of nomination deadline by two of the party’s aspirants.
Mr Bwalya said there are no negative consequences that would affect the PF campaign as the party is working with aspirants from the MMD in Muchinga constituency and the Independent in Lundazi who will both campaign for PF presidential candidate Edgar Lungu.
“A number of media houses have called us to make a comment about the consequences of the development that two of our members namely Dr Ngosa Simbyakula who is our national Chairperson and Dr John Phiri who did not file their nomination papers yesterday. Our position is that there are negative consequences that would be to the level of affecting our campaign.
“What Zambians know is that we are working with MMD. In case of Muchinga constituency Mr Howard Kunda is campaigning for President Lungu because the MMD led by their new leader Mr Felix Mutati is not standing. In Lundazi we have a PF member Bezwayo Nkunika who has stood as an Independent and will campaign for our presidential candidate,” he said.
Justice Minister Ngosa Simbyakula and John Phiri yesterday failed to file in their nominations after arriving at their respective nomination centers late.
Patriotic Front [PF] aspiring candidate for Lundazi Central Constituency in Lundazi District, John Phiri yesterday failed to file in his nomination papers for Lundazi Central Constituency after he allegedly arrived one hour after the nomination centre was closed.
District Electoral Officer [DEO], Boyd Kaoma said that all political parties were given a timetable in which to file in their nomination papers.
Mr Kaoma said the PF party was scheduled to file in between 13.00hrs to 14.00hrs but Dr Phiri arrived at the centre at 16.50hrs after the centre was closed.
He said according to the Electoral Commission of Zambia [ECZ], during nomination days political parties were given time table in which they were supposed to follow strictly but the PF failed to abide by the time table.
Mr Kaoma, who is also Lundazi Council Secretary, disclosed that he telephoned PF District Chairperson, Emmanuel Mulenga, one hour before the PF aspiring candidate’s time to file in his nomination papers to remind him.
And in a related development, PF aspiring candidate for Mukomba Ward in Lundazi Central Constituency, Stephen Banda, also failed to file in his nomination papers for arriving late and he had no other legal documents.
Meanwhile, efforts to get comments from either Dr Phiri, who is General Education Minister or Lundazi District Patriotic PF chairperson Emmanuel Mulenga failed by press time.
Four aspiring candidates for Lundazi Central Constituency who successfully filed in their nominations papers, were Frankston Banda on UPND ticket, Bizwayo Nkunika on independent ticket, Lawrence Nyirenda on independent ticket and Evans Ngoma on independent ticket.

If a leader in Ngosa who effectively until parliament dissolved was the THIRD in line, can not keep his OWN time, how can he look after people?
In my company , you come late for an Interview you are sent away and NEVER to be seen away, end of, that is the most important day in your life as a Politician. If anything he should have been there several times beforehand.

This is a big failure and a leakage on the part of PF, a ruling party, It shows the weakness on the part of the party and it tells volumes. SATA would have not entertained this from a DOCTOR. He would have slated this man and humiliated him, rightfully so. Dr. Simbyakula for all his qualifications is mediocre to be found in such a situation. Dr Simbyakula owes the nation an explanation. Where was he and what was he doing to have arrived late? He still has the fraudulent Ministerial position and all the benefits that go with it AND DIGRESSES HIMSELF THIS WAY. He does not deserve a nomination and does not warrant any Ministerial position any more.
And you wonder why you have so such absentism and tardiness in these Govt ministries if you have Ministers who can’t keep time themselves. How, on God’s good earth, can a former Minister fail to arrive on time for such an important event/appointment? Didn’t these people know the timetable? How embarrassing!
Absenteeism and reporting late for almost everything in Zambia is a problem that goes back decades, and part of a corporate culture that needs stamping out pronto. Especially among Govt/civil service workers and their bosses. I hope this kind of stance by our institutions will spur change in our mentality and rotten attitude (towards work, time-keeping and appointments) which is decades overdue—well done ECZ for standing firm.

I always thought Simbyakula was alot of hype but not very saleable. Howard Kunda was going to hit him hard. Its back to the drawing board for him. Why doesnt ECL just bring him to State house as his legal advisor since he appears to like him so much? It will be unfair to nominate him as an MP since he failed as MP due to his poor time keeping.
PF may pretend as they with, but deep down their hearts, they know this is a big blow and a sad way of starting a campaign as the ruling party. Even as we speak, the moral must be very low in their camp. What they should realise is that with the new constitution in place, there won’t any unnecessary cross overs leading to buying MPs through dubious bye-elections. So those two seats are a big loss which may come to haunt them.
I foresee ECL and his PF losing terribly and even before the end of August , just after elections, the fake doctor from Roan constituency will be up in arms wrestling to take over from Chagwa as party leader…..watch this space!!

Part of the reason why PF and ECZ are being arrogant about this year’s elections include the fact that ECZ staff have been given immunity against any wrong doing in the current constitution! The PF rigging scheme is huge courtesy of Timor Consulting! Zambians are so naive!
The LORD God has intervened in the scheme to rig. You can never be too clever for God. Already, in some areas, PF has failed to file for counselor positions; somewhere in the North. UPND has already gone unopposed in one place in Kasama. By 11th August, the Timor schemes will be fully exposed as they start dribbling themselves. The LORD God can never be mocked.
Dr Simbyakula was just afraid to stand against Howard Kunda. He went late deliberately to disqualify himself. It is not as if Kunda was told to file in nomination aftee Simbyakula failed to show up. Both were to contest. Frank Bwalya wants to spin this. The fact is that the Mutati MMD/PF Pact clearly is not working.
Anyway Bwalya is politely teying to tell us that Drs Simbyakula and Phiri ARE NOT A FACTOR.
