The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has written to the Examination Council of Zambia to report UPND Presidential Running Mate Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba to Law enforcement agencies for suspected forgery.
Mwanajiti and Associates Director Ngande Mwanajiti told Journalist in Lusaka that the forwarded documents appear to belong to Mr. Mwamba.
Mr. Mwanajiti observed that the request made by the examination board in Zimbabwe should not be politicized but should instead be treated as a criminal matter with all fairness as it is a matter that has potential to negatively affect the governance of the country.
He has since called on all relevant authorities to establish the truth concerning the validity of Mr. Mwamba’s results.
The documents submitted include a copy of a letter from the Examinations Council of Zambia, a copy of the grade 12 certificate bearing the names Mwamba Geoffrey Bwalya and a copy of a letter from the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council to the Examinations Council of Zambia.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia has since validated the documents.

Do you understand why institutions of higher learning are accredited by credible boards or councils? Even products carry patent rights to be protected from millers. If you received any degree from a credible institution you should know that accredited institutional issued diploma or degrees carry a SEAL of approval. what happens to a presidential candidate if his running mate is disqualified? Article 52 (6) says that”Where a candidate dies, resigns or becomes disqualified in accordance with Article 70 (election of members of parliament), 100 (election of president and running mate) or 153 (election of councillor) or a court disqualifies a candidate for corruption or malpractice, AFTER THE CLOSE OF NOMINATIONS AND BEFORE THE ELECTION DATE, the Electoral Commission shall cancel the election and require the filing of fresh nominations by eligible candidates and elections shall be held within 30 days of the filing of fresh nominations.” What this would mean is that if a running mate, who is a candidate, is disqualified, fresh nominations have to be held by eligible candidates. This is not about PF being scared of GBM, its about HH knowing all along that GBM had forged papers but still went ahead to nominate him as running mate. This explains why HH delayed to announce until the very last 20 minutes. We told you GBM is a criminal. If his papers are indeed fake he doesn’t deserve to appear on the ballot papers, his name must be expunged.
GBM dropped from school in form 3 at Mungwi Secondary School in Northern Province, they were classmate with Dr. Bornface Kawimbe, Dr Mathias Mpande. After dropping out he was working for his father at a bakery in Kasama. Its GBM to tell the nation how he studied in Zim, the passport office will help us with records or was it by long distance. The Lungu/ Winna team is the best team and we should all accept the fact that crime is crime hence GBM should be reported.
Perhaps he continued with studies after that. A Form Three thise days could even become a teacher. I like your contribution. It should not be very difficulty for authorities to investigate this.

But you are talking about an era in which academic qualifications were NOT a Constitutional Requirement/issue! May Be criminally punishable by our penal code, but certainly NEVER was a Constitutional issue—and if there were no laws to ‘debar’ an MP who had served some jail time, then Masumba was within his right to return to Parliament.
By the way, if I recall correctly, Masumba took his case to court. And correct me if I am wrong, the courts stayed his debarment from Parliament. I am not sure if there was a final ruling after that or the case is still pending—like always with our courts!

Lungu was born in Ndola and bought up in Kitwe’s Chimwemwe township and completed secondary education at Mukuba Secondary School in Kitwe and later completed his law degree at UNZA.

In my short stint with an institution in Zambia we did a lot of checks for authenticity both from within the country and outside and boy this is as messy as it goes. Most guys at the time (90s) who had gone into SA to work had forged their papers; some were just jumping arrest in time, others bolted from that country and came back to hold respectable jobs STILL with their forgeries. I still do not understand why this has been allowed to persist for so long. We also inquired about foreign qualifications and most met the same or similar fate. A senior guy who could only masquerade for half a year took vacation and never came back after we busted him…

Where is Nalumango in the campaign trail. HH should have picked Nalumango by GBM could not allow it. My reading of the situation is that at one point in time, GBM found it necessary to acquire academic qualifications. This was in answer to the fact that he did not go high enough in education and many people would not hesitate to attest to that. He acquired (don’t ask me how) a G12 certificate from Zimbabwe and with it enrolled and obtained qualifications from an educational institution in England. He deliberately put aside the G12 before ECZ certificate because the Zimbabwean authorities would expose him that the document is a counterfeit. Similarly, should he mention the college in England, interest will be on papers used for admission to that facility (and hopefully not those papers from Zimbabwe) because the college will withdrawal the qualification. Think GBM, hard and deep.
