The ruling Patriotic Front has charged that it is convinced that Mapenzi Chibulo, the UPND supporter shot dead last Friday was killed by alleged UPND hired criminals and not the Zambia Police.
PF deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya told a media briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the party has established beyond reasonable doubt that the murder was a calculated scheme to demonize President Edgar Lungu.
He said the opposition UPND allegedly sacrificed its member under the principle of collateral damage to de-campaign President Lungu and the PF led government.
Mr Bwalya says this is evidenced by how the late Mapenzi was followed by a camera prior to her being shot dead.
He said the ruling PF is convinced that the photos of Mapenzi after she was shot were taken by one camera as the technical evaluation of the photos points to this reality.
Mr. Bwalya added that this also explains why UPND president Hakainde Hichilema did not emphasize the need for a thorough investigation to establish the truth but instead accused President Lungu of murder.
But UPND youths in Lusaka have expressed disappointment that instead of apologizing for the death its member, the ruling PF has opted to accuse it of having planned her murder.
UPND Lusaka District Youth Wing Vice Secretary Otis Bwalya has wondered what the party would benefit from having one of its members killed in the manner Mapenzi was murdered.
He says what the ruling PF has forgotten is the fact that 10 other UPND members were shot during the fracas in which Mapenzi unfortunately died.

Whatever happened! Mapenzi’s demise is sad. No blame game will bring her back. Gone too soon. left a boy who will grow to know the mother from pictures only. Our hearts bleed. Hope we can all be like water melons. Green outside but very ripe and Red inside, knowing what to do on 11 August, 2016.
It is very sad how politics are turning Zambia into such a misery place and dividing people. Really if frank bwalya can be making such comments, you wonder were morals and Christianity has led people. We should be sympathizing with the lady who died and his family instead of this rhetoric. What has happened to once this country that loved each other so much and stood for the poor and hopeless? Zambia does not behave like a country full of Christian followers. No word from the police and yet Bwalya who was not there has the audacity to point a finger at his perceived enemy. Chabulanda saana!
I write just for mere formality, PF has been weighed and has been found wanting, the handwriting is on the wall. The majority of comments from now until the elections will be hugely pro-UPND and so will the votes on comments. That is significant to note. As for a-Walya (ex-priest), Fred Membe likes to say: “Whom the gods are about to destroy, they first make mad”. The incoming UPND government must actually not be vindictive, but call for a day of Truth and Reconciliation for those who were sincerely mislead by PF propaganda…..thereafter, for those that do not come forward…..let the arrests begin!!
UPND strategy of killing own members to gain fake sympathy from the general public will not work.PF has set a firm developmental foundation and no matter what happens victory is for Lungu.I am one of those attending UPND meetings just to eat with them because they stole a lot from privatization and corrupt tenders……however my vote is for ECL.

Racism and tribalism is for small-minded prejudiced people who are too terrified to face the future, mainly due to their own self-limiting up-bringing and beliefs. Tribalism and racism is scrum for scumbags.
Today I will comment with a professional tone.This situation has become critical and dangerous.A life was lost and such a situation warrants a professional investigation.Only after investigation can a press statement be issued by the right people.Even that statement should be tailored not to inflame emotions.It is very worrying that such statements are being issued by unprofessional people like this former father.He absolutely has no authority to comment on such sensitive issues which can easily influence an already volatile situation.Is it difficult to show professionalism and not carder-ism? Restrain this people from commenting on such issues because such accusations are bound to have a repercussion on an internal security stability of this country.
