Sundowns downs Mayuka’s Zamalek

Here is a wrap of how Zambia’s foreign-based stars performed on Sunday in their respective continental club competition group stage engagements.

ZAMALEK-SUNDOWNS

Striker Emmanuel Mayuka came on with little impact in Egyptian club Zamalek’s 2-1 Champions League Group B home loss to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in Kattameya.

Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene did not make the team as Sundowns moved to 6 points at the top of Group B, three points ahead of Zamalek while Enyimba have zero points from two games.

TP MAZEMBE

Mazemebe drew 0-0 away to MO Bejaia in Algeria to stay in command of their 2016 CAF Confederation Cup Group A tie on 7 points, one ahead of their hosts on Sunday night.

Midfielder Nathan Sinkala played the full 90 minutes while defender Kabaso Chiongo and striker Jonas Sakuwaha were unused substitutes.

Playmaker Rainford Kalaba missed the match due to a thigh muscle injury,.
