Fourth Republican President Rupiah Banda says he has endorsed President Edgar Lungu in the forthcoming elections because he has a democratic right as a citizen to endorse a candidate of his choice.

President Banda said there is nothing wrong in endorsing a candidate during polls because it is a practice world over so that best candidates can be elected to lead the nation.

Speaking at a public rally in Lundazi today the former head of state said President Lungu is the best candidate among the 9 who are contesting this year’s polls hence his endorsement.

He said President Lungu has shown that he can govern the country and ensure development.

Mr. Banda has since urged the people of Zambia to give President Lungu a full term of office so that he can finish implementing the projects the PF has initiated.

He said the country cannot develop if its people keep changing governments within short periods.

Mr Banda said president Lungu has united the country by embracing all Zambians including those who do not agree with him.

The former president also called on the people of Zambia to vote ‘yes’ in the referendum to enhance people rights.

And President Lungu has welcomed President Banda’s endorsement saying Zambians should heed the advice to ensure the country does not scare away investors.

The President said currently the country has attracted investors who have invested in Zambia and called on Zambians to keep investors by not changing governments frequently.

The head of state said his government is already doing all what the opposition are promising to do for the country hence the need to stick to the current government.

He said the opposition political parties do not have any developmental agenda for the country hence their resorting to violence in the run up to the polls.

President Lungu who is in eastern province to campaign ahead of next week’s general elections said he is confident that he will won the polls with more than 70% of the votes cast.

The President also addressed campaign rallies in Vubwi and Chadiza districts in eastern province.

  1. No one is arguing with you sir, BUT I GUESS THAT’S WHY THAT MONKEY ALSO THOUGHT IT HAD ARIGHT TO PEE ON YOUR FACE!!

    #Chagwamustfall!! #PamaFikuyabebele!!

    I thank you!!

    • RB, after illegitimately getting K5 million for your house you have decided to join the drunkard on his campaigns….. It is just a matter of days before Changwa goes back to Chawama

    • Who is interested in RB? Probably the most risky grown man I have ever seen, I always pray to God that not to arrest him again, he so costly with his deeds.
Even if he endorsed Peter Sinkamba, no one who go in streets to protest. but endorsing Mutati was too corrupt.

    • MR BANDA NO ONE QUESTIONS YOUR RIGHT TO ENDORSE ANY CANDIDATE. THE ISSUE WE HAVE IS THE WISDOM OF YOUR CHOICE.
      CHIBE CHIBE LUNGU ALEYA
RAIN NO RAIN PF MUST BE VOTED OUT!!!!

    • I have never seen such a stupidest and monkiest former president like RB. Just because Edger Lungu gave K5million retirement benefit and then he is out on rampage endorsing a failed president like Lungu. The days are numbered and the days of reckoning are fast approaching. We will squeeze your balls until water comes out. Your support fro Lungu is purely on tribal lines and no one is surprised about that stupid move you have taken.

    • It was expected as wako ni wako;Rupiah being a known tribalst.Besides, both Rupiah and Lungu have somethng in common. Both are sympathy presidents, who got sympathy votes after the deaths of Mwanawasa and Sata respectively.

    • Watch out these results from Southern Part of Zambia

    • Precisely, no one is arguing with him. RBB, you can even come endorse Satan for all I care. It’s your Democratic right but can what I am saying is that you have failed connection lamentably to be a Statesman of this Nation because of your tribalistic character.

    • Precisely, no one is arguing with him. RBB, you can even endorse Satan for all I care. It’s your Democratic right but what I am saying is that you have failed lamentably to be a Statesman of this Nation because of your tribalistic character.

    • We also have the democratic right to vote out your endorser wamvwa weyo Banda. What does the constitution say about former benefits when participating in active politics then when you are followed up you start playing the victim mother buffer

    • @Chagwa!!!! Uzagwa pa 11 August,
Nothing new in your predictions looking at the voting pattern from that part of Zambia. That’s one of the reasons you have specifically selected that region to please your ego. Mwalapolomya naunowine mwaka bane.

    • One more thing Katondo pressure is the crowd. surely an ex president an incumbent with that small crowd. Things are not good for PF. LOL Kikiki. Am happy

    • BARACK OBAMA made $12.2 Million in 8years as president

Chagwa has made K23million=$2.3million in just 1 year.

RB made $5million just last weekend.

    • RB, you are campaigning actively for PF and this is direct involvement in politics. The good news is that you have already set an example of a leader who is not give a full time as well. Lungu has only hours in that position, we are giving him a red card for destroying our economy and many families as is the case on the Copperbelt.

  2. Strange and embarrassing that brilliant minds like that of Mutati can be bootlicking EL. In serious countries, it’s supposed to be the other way round

    • Felix a “Brilliant” mind??????? You are PROBABLY TALKING ABOUT HIS OTHER HALF!! Which boggles the mind how he scored that one (not forgetting, it might have been partly organised, & he had wheels!!)
      PLEASE PLEASE DON’T MISUSE WORDS!!!
Don’t be taken in by a bit of “Chongololo” English & false looks!!

Ask people at ZESCO FINANCE where the chap came from!!!

VOTE WISELY 11/8/2016!! Vote ZAMBIA FORWARD!! VOTE UPND!!!!

VOTE FOR A NEW CHAPTER IN ZAMBIAN POLITICS – BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, IT IS TIME WE SAID WE HAVE NO TIME FOR MEDIOCRITY – WE HAVE BEEN DRAGGED TO THE PIT-LATRINES, IT IS TIME WE SAVED OURSELVES FROM BEING FLUSHED DOWN WITH THEM!!

      #MURDERERChagwamustfall!! #PamaFikuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

    • @Katondo boys. I am also surprised by the statement that Felix Mutati is brilliant. How did someone end up thinking that Felix is brilliant. Let’s bring facts on the table and prove that the guy is brilliant. Personally I think Mutati is not very different from Kambwili except that Kambwili is too loud and has a lot of confidence. @The Chosen One, if you wish to convince us that Felix is brilliant, provide us with proof using his track record starting from Grade 7, grade 9 (form 2), grade 12 (form 5) results and I don’t know which tertiary institution he went to as well as his track record at work both as a politician and non politician. Note that I have nothing against your statement but Felix doesn’t strike me as a brilliant individual so kindly update me with any facts you may have.

  3. That’s the real leaders talking since all round unlike twinangu tu U5. Devil worshiper mmembe mislead us that president banda was evil when he is ten times evil himself and a big thief

    • What you have just commented here does not make any sense.
For your information Mmembe is publisher and as such does not inform or mislead but publish to
      make a profit.

  4. THIS IS A PURE DISPLAY OF DECEIT THAT RUPIAH BANDA HAS ON THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. IMAGINE FOR BANDA TO STILL GO AHEAD URGING THE ZAMBIANS TO VOTE FOR A LOOTER, A SERIAL KILLER, A TRIBALIST, AN EVIL-MINDED EDGAR CHAKOLWA LUNGU. WHY? WHY DOES BANDA HATE US SO MUCH FOR HIM TO RECOMMEND A MEDIOCRE AND VISION-LESS LUNGU, AFTER ALL WHAT WE HAVE DONE FOR BANDA, EVEN ALLOWING HIM AT ONE TIME IN HISTORY TO BE OUR PRESIDENT? WE WANT CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT NEXT THURSDAY. WE WANT NEW LEADERS. VOTE FOR HH. VOTE FOR UPND AND MOVE ZAMBIA FORWARD.

    • You are just an a.ss hole. He has a right to endorse anyone. Just organize yourselves and see if there are many who think like him or like you. That’s all and next week we shall tell. Don’t just yap like rabid dogs

  5. RB, I do not think that people contest the issue of citizen rights. What is at issue is the fact you were an MMD President, yet you’ve never supported MMD candidates. There’s also the issue that you never supported PF under MCS, speaking of PF programmes as being your own. Our experience with you is that you’ve always talked about ‘wako ni wako’ and ‘umozi ku umawa’. What we see is a tribalist trying to ensure ECL feels indebted to you. Sadly ECL will become the second president to lose an election after just a term. An indictment on people like you.

  6. No questions boss.Just feel sorry for Lungu.Attracting a loser like you sir.God gave u a chance to government this beautiful country and you thought Zambia niyanyoko.

  7. Zambians are a gullible lot. The same character they chased for being corrupt comes back 5 years later with a god son to ask for votes and they start clapping. Kiki Kiki kikikikiki!!!!!

  8. This is time round the 800, 000 voters in Eastern Province must avenge through the ballot what the HH and his cartel have done to Presidents from the east. Since the days of Reuben Chitandika Kamanga, Presidents from the East are opposed by a known cartel. Next week is time for copy and paste; HH will taste his own medicine.

  9. Mambala, it is true You do indeed have the right to support whoever you wish, BUT we are not daft, the only reason you are supporting P.F, who you campaigned, & fought so hard for not to be in Government, is because You needed “a fullback” to defend, & protect you from prosecution in your cases of plunder, & in Chakolwa -Chikokoshi dancer, you have found an equally dishonest corrupt compadre.
    The rest is history.

  10. It is true RB has democratic right to do so but for morals and unity’s sake he should not have done so as a former head of state because in case HH becomes president he must be free to consult him.

    • HH knows how to make clean money why would he want to consult a corrupt and immoral element who is also a tribalist like Banda?

    • Clean money indeed! Luanshya, do you hear that? Hope you have not forgotten the misery you went through because of one chap who made himself rich through privatization. You have your say on 11 August.

    • @ disgusted

You should ask Mutati and his brother how much did they benefit from “auditing” services during privatization.
HH accounts had been scrutinized hundred times, how come Mutati brotherhood has escaped scrutiny?

    • @st sweet Anus learn from other countries like south Africa,DA is duing fine because its preaching unity in diversity.Voters are shape when you say wako ni wako you will lose even the 40,000 votes from southern to HH.Just campaign tell the people what you will do for them.Evry vote under 50 plus one counts. In UPND every vote is welcome.Zambia is for all us.

  11. This is a case of “Wako niwako”, “Birds of the same feathers flock together”, ” I scratch your back U scratch mine”. Its in their both interest to get Lungu remain President and protect the loot and continue looting public funds. As long Lungu remains President RB, Lungu’s illegal Ministers, Election Riggers etc will be protected from prosecution. Lets vote for HH enmasse and get all these criminals to account for their stolen wealth. Forward with HH and UPND Team.

    • Wako ni wako? What was the composition of RB’s cabinet compared to the one that is proposed by HH?

    • As for RB’s corruption cases, lets not forget that the main drivers of that were Nchito and Membe, both of whom owe the Zambian tax payers millions of dollars. I also remember a certain HH used attend RB’s court hearings to lend support to him and made statements about the persecution of the Sata regime on the former president. In fact, is it not true that UPND MPs (whose numbers have reduced considerably since a certain HH took over the leadership of the party) voted against the motion to remove RB’s immunity? Today UPND supporters are calling RB corrupt when they have GBV as their running mate and Sampa the chewer of the euro bond cash playing a prominent role campaigning for HH who have conveniently forgotten what Sampa said about the possibility of a Tonga president!

  12. It’s also our democratic right as citizens to stop u mr. RB from getting paid becoz our constitution bars ex-president from participating in active politics whilst getting paid their retirement perk.

RB should forfeit our hard-earned taxpayers money he’s receiving then he can be free to campaign for any candidate or even himself.

The real reason RB is campaigning is bcoz he’s protecting his shady deals in oil procurement & the Turkish ship (Karadeniz) docked at Nacala Port, Mozambique which is supplying expensive electricity to Zambia

    • HH needs to come out and say what he will do about such corrupt practices like giving Banda K5million from our taxes. Then allowing him to campaign. Data used to tell voters what he will do about corruption. Silence means he approves such corruption

  13. Tivotela mulimi muzantu not wako ni wako it is about quality not quantity. honestly speaking tribe aside who is the best between the two?

  14. I had a rare chance to hear the “Let The People Talk” today and my God, I couldnt believe my ears. These guys of this program revealed data about this small and evil man in UPND called HH. As I listened, I was really hoping that the youths were also listening because all what HH has been yapping and ranting about job creation is BIG LIE! The truth came out with evidence and just the revelation of the people that this HH is involved with in his so called business made my hair grey. Simply put, you vote for HH and GBM means another scramble for Zambia by crooks and thieves through privatization company merges.
In some companies owned by these crooks, HH and Anglo America are big shareholders and these are the same exploiters of miners who he says he will bring back to do mining in…

This is according to a letter dated July 30, 2010 and signed by Law Association of Zambia(LAZ) honorary secretary Musa Mwenye and copied to all relevant institutions and individuals that deal with lawyers.

  15. cont’d
In some companies owned by these crooks, HH and Anglo America are big shareholders and these are the same exploiters of miners who he says he will bring back to do mining in Zambia! Basically, UPND is actually not run by HH but by the foreigners whose interest is ransack Zambia and get away with all its wealth.
Can more people who know the dark world of HH please come to the rescue of those that he has radicalized because honestly HH is a danger to Zambia and must not be tolerated.

  16. We know it is wako ni wako with Rupiah Banda. We have tested Edgar things are not working at all only those benefiting directly are endorsing Edgar. What about the majority of people who can’t even afford a meal? We will vote for HH for a change. If we continue with Pf we will die of hunger.

  17. Clearly Rupiah Banda is an amateur at democracy. In mature democracies Ex presidents do not meddle in partisan politics. The ethics dictate that they have retired and been given the emoluments for this so they should take no further part in politics. If Rupiah Banda insists on endorsing Lungu it opens the issue of what is he being paid for this endorsement? Remember He cant be paid any longer because he has retired. If his addiction to his tribal ties are the ones driving him to endorse his tribesmate he is a failed Republican. Zambians should check Rupiah Banda’s bank account during and after this election

  18. No wonder that State House monkey found nowhere else to pee than Bwezani’s head, it saw it as an ideal empty vessel to deposit it’s well body refined HO2! And as for Bizwayo Nkunika, I still recall him as a Lt. Col. soon after he was arrested for conspiring with his boss to do a coup detat on Kaunda. Anyway, Kaunda discovered them and Nkunika was tortured so bad he screamed like ka mwana sure! However, unlike Miyanda Bizwayo did not excrit stinky sticky poop in his combat. Now he is running for office, Chagwa a chengele because once coup plotter always coup plotter.

  19. As one voteth so will the Country be and performs. How one votes will be how their leaders work.

We still vote like our parents did. There isn’t courage to check the candidates and choosing wisely. Until when we change can we expect meaningful development.

We also do politics like our grands did.

  20. RB is not a factor in Zambian politics, may be in Eastern Province. In fact, it has always been known that he supports Lungu, because he has been bailed out from Court proceedings. Our Courts are a disaster for sure, they only hammer poverty stricken people when it comes to justice, what a shame.

  21. Zambian musicians??? They should be called something else! Musicians should not be partisan, just like priests, Judges Army, etc. The reason is straight forward, they work for all the Zambians regardless of their political party affiliation. How is JK going to sell his music to UPND?? The people he is insulting alongside Edgar, pse lets have foresight.

    • Chikafya – It is called democratic right. It is the same world over. After the campaign is over, JK is not going to be producing campaign music. You buy his music, not his political affiliation.

  22. Who cares about whom you endorse? You can even endorse Lucifer because that’s where you belong. You two, I mean you RB and ECL have one thing in common and that is you were/are interim Heads of State only good for finishing terms of real Presidents (Mwanawasa and Sata) and messing up the economies of these two great men. ( May their Souls Rest in Perfect Peace). Two spoilers endorsing each other, ata uko!

  23. A UPND confidential document has been exposed where HH has outlined how all the remaining parastals in Zambia will be sold through privatization. According to this highly guarded secret, parastatals are over employed and hence the losses. It is revealed also that this will be a chance for UPND faithful supporters to partner with foreigners and own shares. This is in the unlikely circumstances that UPND wins the August elections. The document further reveals that in the first year of being government, all infrastructure project started by PF will be stopped especially those undertaken with assistance of China in preference to capitalists with money to run them.

    • Am sure you also have a leaked document showing how HH is responsible for the sake of Africans during the slave trade right te

    • @Another One. There’s nothing wrong with privatizing parastatals especially if they are underperforming as is the case with most of them right now. They are a drain on our (those of us that pay taxes) taxes. Look at ZESCO for example: My interest in ZESCO as an individual is to get electricity. I don’t care whether it’s private owned or state owned. What I want is to have electricity if I pay for it. But look at what is happening at ZESCO, we pay them and yet they can’t give us electricity when we want it. A few months ago, Trade Kings (a Zambian owned business) said that they will be opening a factory in Tanzania because they can’t get enough electricity here in Zambia. Now that’s a lot of jobs gone to Tanzanians instead of Zambians. I can give you a lot of examples. Obviously you…

  24. In today’s Daily Nation: HH says:
    1. “The UPND will invest in education UNTIL every child is in school”
My comment: HH is now playing with words, 6 days before the election. He has told us previously that once elected he will ensure that every child has (free) education until university. Now with the word “until” he is actually saying that he will first have to invest before he can attain universal education. Now HH, but that is exactly what PF is doing by building more schools until all childten can be enrolled in school as Rome was not built in a day. So what is it that you will do that is different from what PF is doing today and will continue doing? Have you just realised that all your messages so far have been hogwah? Or was it just one of your lies? Or you think that you…

    • But Mr Terrible

We also remeber lungu promising us 500,000 jobs in 2016 , have those jobs materialised ???

    • Spaka like lilo – Unless you tell us how many jobs against the 500,000 target have been created, you are also speculating that this has not been achieved.

  25. ……contd….Have you just realised that all your messages so far have been hogwash? Or was it just one of your lies? Or you think that you should start preparing people for for your failure to do what you said earlier, i.e. free universal educatiob from day one? Or educated as you are, its only now that you have realised that development is a process that starts with one brick? Mwatu sebanya ba U5, giving up and telling lies so early before you are even elected! Mulumbwana wa beja biyo!

  26. Contd…
    2. HH: “A government serious about fighting corruption can save millions, which is why in a UPND government there qill be mo sacred cows, and we will recover those misappropriated funds to channel into our education sector”.
Comment: Are you crazy U5? But you have just surrounded yourself with corrupt people like GBM of the tender corruption at MoD, Zesco poles, corruption transport tenders etc. Or are you gonna recover corruption funds starting with GBM? But suppose you win, that would be because of GBM, how can you recover from someone you owe a hige debt for making you president. Wabeja musankwa U5.

Take it from me U5, Zambianas are not fiols, we have seen through and we have rejected you before, and we are repeating it come 8/11. You were actually better before qhen…

    • Buti Mr Terrible

Zambians are still confused at how Thier kwacha was losing value against the dollar but according to you lungus kwacha gained, growing like magic to $2.3 million in one year.

  27. Take it from me U5, Zambians are not fools, we have seen through you and we have rejected you before, and we are repeating it come 8/11. You were actually better before when we rejected you, what more now when you are just another crook like GBM? HH now in the company of GBM has become like a monkey that wants to sneak into our maize field. Wabeja musankwa!

  28. Correct RB but you are always on the losing side serve for Mwanawasa’s sympathy vote. That is wrong ttiming mwana HH is coming and you will cry again.

    • I think you will find that RB endorsed ECL last year and guess what ECL won and HH lost once again. Like or not but RB has influence in eastern province. He is the one who ensured that Mwanawasa had a second term by convincing easterners for the first time to vote for MMD. Up until then, eastern province was a no go area for MMD. UPND are doing themselves a disservice by ignoring the province. HH will regret unceremoniously dumping Canisius Banda for that GBV thug.

  29. GOD LOVES ALL THE PEOPLE WITH VERY BAD LANGUAGE TOO. WHY ARE YOU VERY BITTER PEOPLE?
YOU CANT TALK OF PEACE AND LOVE. WHAT KIND OF PIPO ARE YOU? WHAT HAS RB DONE WITH YOU?HAVE YOU EVER HEARD EASTERNERS INSULTING YOU PIPO FOR BEING SUPPORTED? MULIBE NSONI IMWE BANTHUUU? VIVA LUNGUUUUU. SORRY, NOW I AM VERY SURE HH IS LOSING AGAIN

    MUTINTA

  30. Upnd GBM was corrupt when he was PF now as Upnd he’s “cleansed ”
Am sure if RB endorsed HH all the shiit. would be flying around.

    • Exactly, HH was in court supporting RB when he was facing those trumped up charges by Membe and Nchito, today he is enemy number 1 for UPND, whereas the likes of GBV, Sampa, Masebo and Membe who have made tribalist statements against Tongas are heroes simply because they have supplicated themselves to the altar of he who knows it all HH!

  31. The best you have done RB after getting the K5m for the house you would have remained quite. This action has costed Lungu some votes from those undecided votes as they think the RB PF fought and kicked out due to corruption and other evils is back in the name of RB.
In kitwe Lungu was against Independent memebrs of parliament but in Lundazi you bring close an independent candidate.Zambians have around decided because in Lundazi you even decide to hold a rally in the market meaning you had few people who attended your rally.Eastern s will not eat Lungu or RB.Wako ni wako has failed to work this time.Kuya bebele bwana.
Opposition was able to pull bigger crowds than these heads you are showing us.
The best indicator is that if few women are attending your meetings know that you are gone.

  32. REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION, LET US STRIVE TO BE OBJECTIVE. I REMEMBER PF THREATENING RB OF WITH-HOLDING HIS BENEFITS IF HE DARED COME BACK INTO ACTIVE POLITICS. NOW THAT HE IS IN SUPPORT OF PF, THAT TALK HAS DIED A NATURAL DEATH. LETS US HAVE LAWS THAT WORK FOR THE GOOD OF THE MAJORITY AND NOT INDIVIDUALS

  33. I could be wrong but I expected much larger crowd than that, especially the many that come to watch the dancing president. But then this election is about maintaining and gaining or losing marginally the strongholds of either PF or UPND from the 2015 elections. 50 + 1 will be put to the test finally….and by God’s grace, we shall have a new president and a new party in government.

  34. @1.12 Jay Jay, so you did not know that Sata and Rupiah were not only family friends but bossom friends too? The two came a long way together with their families. The only person who wanted the two apart was Mmembe but he never actually succeeded. You should have noticed the friendship between the two when they met at state functions. Dont be misled by the fact that they were political opponents, they did not see each other as enemies the way U5 looks at and hates his opponents especially ECL, NO!!

  35. @Spaka like lilo, I dont have to guide you in everything. You sound well educated so read about the commodity crash and the world economy in general and you will be able to answer your own questions. On the other hand, U5 is trying to change goal posts just five days before elections, even before the economy changes! Thats cheating!

  36. RB SUMS IT UP IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD – WOE TO UPND
    ==============================
    Okay okay okay!
I get it. UPNDestruction goons are cursing with their tongues between their teeth. This is a total blow to the Kalusas. Truth hates but the patriots will much on. Victory is certain for ECL. Indeed the second half is about to begin soon. Thumbs up to all the fellaz, the patriots who will work to retire the notorious GBV-M/HH pact. It is a case of this pact vs the people of this beloved country. Reality check- Zambians have rejected team GBV-M/HH pact, period.

  37. Local election results in South Africa: Malema says he has accepted the results.
Back home a very similar individual says he can only accept the results if he wins.

  38. I CANT IMAGINE ANOTHER 5 YEARS OF LUNGU IF BY ANY RIGGED CHANCE HE WINS. THIS MAKES ME SO SAD AND SICK. I AM TELLING YOU MY FELLOW BLOGGERS ON THIS BLOG, ASK ME 5 YEARS FROM NOW IF SOME OF YOU WILL STILL BE ALIVE, WE WILL CONTINUE THE SAME CYCLE AND THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE WILL WRITE ANOTHER ARTICLE 5 YEARS FROM NOW WITH THE SAME CONTENT, IF HE DOESN’T DIE OR IF LUNGU DOESN’T DIE BECAUSE NOTHING WILL CHANGE BUT INSTEAD IT WILL BE WORSE. TO ALL MY RELATIVES, IF LUNGU WINS OR IF YOU VOTE FOR HIM ON AUGUST 11TH, MY MESSAGE IS HERE SIMPLE DONT YOU ASK FOR DOLLARS FROM ME.,, FORGET. IZA MUNYOKOLA NJALA. YOU HAVE REFUSED CHANGE BY VOTING HH AS PRESIDENT.

  39. 11/08/16 its nega nega formular RB tiye nayo actually Ecl will win first round from eastern power plus muchinga, northern , luapula, kopala swag, upnd cadres please buy nappys in advance kkkkkkkkkk mmmmmm i feel pit on hh & gbv.

  40. HH please tell us what you will do about corrupt ex presidents who receive K5 million before elections. Something needs to be done about corruption

  41. Kikikiki….awe mwe…. with that type of crowd in Lundazi a few days before elections!. The crowd is not even responding aha!. Things are not ok. For sure only self imposition can suffice in such situations- the Khamer Rouge style I suppose.

  42. The retired president nonsense was introduced by Frederick Chiluba as a way to silence Dr KAUNDA. This was a time when we’re realizing that MMD had taken us for a ride : which meant that there was a possibility Dr KAUNDA would return to power.

    • Check all mature democracies US UK France etc their retired Presidents stay nonpartisan. Its not Chiluba who told them this

    • 51.1 Just shows you didn’t do basic civics. 1 In France & UK presidents /PMs don’t retire :They can come back if they so wish. Sarkozy of France is standing again. In US a president is limited to 2 terms but just like G W Bush endorsed his young brother, a former president can express his preference among the presidential candidates. Right now Bill Clinton is campaigning for his wife Hillary
Please take your ignorance to Southern Province

    • @Ndanje khakis…..Bush endorsed a fellow Republican and Clinton is endorsing a fellow republican. In France and UK former Presidents and Prime Ministers do not hop from one party to the other like your RB.

  43. Yes, but no right to steal money. No right to stand idly by and watch corruption taking place on your watch without doing anything about it.

  44. Mr Banda RB sir, you have a democratic right to cast your vote in private for whoever you wish to vote for, but honestly after pocketing 5 million kwacha of tax payers money, who come from different political parties. I don’t think it was wise for you to endorse Lungu. That money did not come from PF cadres. You are a man of no integrity. At your age, you should be impartial in the affairs of the country. You should be approachable by all political party leaders. Thabo Mbeki was visited by DA, EFF and ANC for advise just before the beginning of the just ended local government elections and he refused to disclose who he was going to vote for despite being ANC member.

  45. This nonsense is not consititutional. It was created by Chiluba to ensure KK did not stand. In USA former president Bill Clinton is currently campaigning for his wife. Am sure if Rupia was on HH ‘s side there would be no shhit flying around.

    • Would Clinton endorse Trump? No! Clinton is just being loyal to his party while Rupiah on the other hand is being loyal to corruption

  46. This Banda is an embarrassment to our society if his own son can disown him it tells you something. This is the man who paraded Nevers with the clergy saying he is the only legitimate president of mmd he knows but today he changes his mind and say he doesn’t know him. shame upon such people can’t even be inspired by such.

  47. @Nigerian oil If RB was corrupt why was HH always at the courts giving him support? You Zambians are not principled. GBM was a corrupt minister of defense but because he’s in your camp he’s a noble person. You’re going to do the same to RB if he’d joined your camp.

    • @ Ndanje Who said Nigerian oil deal is in any camp? Your poor schooling shows. In basic Logic you will be taught that If something isn’t A it doesn’t mean its B.
He is against corrupt leadership- that’s all.
