President Edgar Lungu says people campaigning against the referendum on the bill of rights have no interest of the nation at heart and should not be taken serious by the people of Zambia.

President Lungu noted that people opposed to the referendum have lamentably failed to substantiate their stance and just want to distract people from voting for the progress of the country and its people.

ZANIS reports that President Lungu said claims by the opposition that voting in the referendum means giving votes to the ruling party is a total fabrication.

The President explained that the referendum on the bill of right is about people’s rights and freedoms which every Zambian should enjoy.

He said people who are against the expanded bill of rights do not want to be accountable should they be in government one day.

The President stated that the opposition will be shocked tomorrow after the polls as Zambians will give the referendum and the ruling party a resounding victory.

The head of state who is seeking re-election and faces 8 other candidates said he is not feeling any pressure from his competitors because he is more popular across the country than his challengers.

He said the ruling party will win tomorrows polls with ease because there is no formidable opposition to challenge the Patriotic Front.

And the president said government has improved the Farmer Input Support Programme and will ensure that government partners with the private sector to drive the programme in future.

Mr Lungu said government has been distributing inputs on time and paid all farmers who supply their grains to the Food Reserve Agency.

The head of state was speaking on a live Hot FM Red hot breakfast show from the Copperbelt province.
Tomorrow Zambians will vote in the referendum as well as the presidential and general elections which will be conducted under the amended constitution.

  1. Its all we have heard throughout this campaign period. The opposition this, the opposition that.Nothing of substance about what you will do for the people of Zambia.Equally the opposition have been doing the same.Mud slinging Zambian politics.

    • If you vote NO on referendum your ballot will be invalid and regarded as spoiled ballot. Vote YES on referendum and Ecl.

Vote wisELy Don’t vote fullisHHly Few hours left

    • “Its all we have heard throughout this campaign period.”

@1 YEAH! AND IT’S ALL GOOD NEWS FROM ECL. HE IS THE MAIN MAN. ABASHALA NIBA NGWELE. NI EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU NAFUTI NAFUTI.

    • Either vote NO or don’t bother voting in the referendum at all. The referendum is bound to fail for the following reasons: (1) as there has been no census since 2010, nobody knows the true number of eligible voters to determine how many voters are required to pass it. (2) one of the questions is that any changes to ministers’ roles must be by referendum. The Constitutional Court has confirmed that there has been no change in the Ministers’ roles and that Deputy Ministers are illegal. Chakolwa now needs the referendum to fail if he is to win the election so that he can still appoint Deputy Ministers. What a mess for the PFoolish ones.

  2. Infinite wisdom directs every event conglats ECL 2016 incoming President For HH go and repeat at JOE IMAKONDO BLESSING CENTER ON THURSDAY FOR TAKING LAND FROM THE POOR IN NAMWALA AND INSULTING BANGWE NAVELE OF ZNBC

    (John Dagg, 1857)

“The Lord does whatever pleases Him–in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths!” Psalm 135:5-6

It should fill us with joy, that God’s infinite wisdom guides the affairs of the world!

Many of its events are shrouded in darkness and mystery, and inextricable confusion sometimes seems to reign.

Often wickedness prevails, and God seems to have forgotten the creatures that He has made.

Our own path through life is dark and devious, and beset with difficulties and…

  3. and beset with difficulties and dangers. How full of consolation is the doctrine, that infinite wisdom directs every event, brings order out of confusion, and light out of darkness–and, to those who love God, His infinite wisdom causes all things, whatever their present aspect and apparent tendency is, to work together for good!

“We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose!” Romans 8:28

  4. CONGLATS EDGAR LUNGU AND WAIT ON THE LORD AND GUIDE THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA ACCORDING TO GODLY WISDOM

  5. The people want a new proactive govt of HH that will work for the people. Mean time urgent steps must be taken to recover the money stolen by the illegal ministers.

    • @Musune
Like your ECL stealing K23mln, giving land to 300 cadres meant for OP officers, embracing the illegal stay of ministers to continue milking your tax money, my tax money?
That’s the guy you keep praying & want to give another term to?
      So insipid

  6. Lungu yours are ulterior motives, you have twisted the constitution to rule in your favor. This referendum is not about opposition or yourself, this is about the outcome you want and that’s why you have insisted to hold the referendum alongside the referendum even when people have cried to you to hold it separately.
Dear Zambians, let’s not entertain Lungu, vote any other person, this guy is pain.

  7. Indeed, the two opposition leaders GBM and HH with stolen privatization monies want to continue enjoying a good life while majority Zambians wallow in poverty. They do not care for poor Zambians. One only has to think of how HH has displaced sixty families of Ngabo Village in Chief Mukobela’s area of Namwala district by fencing off a huge piece of land as grazing land for his cattle depriving poor villages of the plains where to graze their cattle and draw drinking water for themselves and their animals. When ZNBC reporter Bangwe Naviley phoned HH over the matter, as shown on ZNBC 1 news yesterday, HH went on to insult the reporter. That is HH for you. He has such a greater acquisitive instinct that he wants to get into power to amass more for himself.

    • I used give hh a benefit of doubt that he was not like gbv alas i have been proven wrong… his outbursts, anger, temper leaves so much to desire. Nowander, they get along with each other. But just a second thought psychologically speaking the anger that hh shows is from the time when he was a toddler and at the moment the only thing that can work is devine intervention. Even if he came from a humble back ground it foes not warrant the anger he displays. His anger is a threat to democracy.

  8. But its this same new constitution which the SO called honourables wanted to rape and still from the poor.
Now if sign the blank cheque in the name of referendum, imagine what they will change to remain in power.

  9. True that Mr President even if it means sacrificing the rights of ordinary Zambians some other political parties can tell their sympathisers to ensure a national process fails. If those ordinary people in Ngabwe Village hadn’t lost their land to UPND president they would still be blindly following him when he doesn’t care 1 bit about & scoffs & insults the poor. Even if you were to tell them that proposed Bill of rights has enhanced protection to land rights they wouldn’t have believed until now. The good thing is that God cares for the poor, humble & oppressed. God will not allow such cruel people to ascend to the presidency unless they repent. God Bless you President Lungu & God Bless Zambia

  10. Why should people vote for something they do not fully understand? It is suffer not to vote for the referendum at all. So forget this referendum thing for now. We are very suspicious! First things first: We are voting for HH. Then we will deal with the referendum later.

  11. IT IS THAT TIME TO GO AND VOTE FOR ECL AND PF TOMORROW!!! LETS VOTE VOTE FOR CONTINUITY. LETS VOTE NO TO TRIBALISM. LET US VOTE YES IN THE REFERENDUM.

VOTE PF!!! VOTE ECL!!! VOTE YES TO REFERENDUM!!!

GOD BLESS ECL, GOD BLESS PF GOD BLESS ZAMBIA
