    • Voter turnout is gona be massive n it goes without saying that MORE TURNOUT, CHANGE IS INEVITABLE. GOD bless mother Zambia and its peoples to vote wisely, from the heart.

    • If those pictures are anything to go by:

HH has taken a narrow lead.

They are both not the best candidates vy a long stretch, by when push comes to shove- HH is the better of these flawed people.

      Thanks

      BB2014

    • On the queue in Chilanga, voting out these murderers and looters. Zambians deserve better than the mass murderer and mega thief Chakolwa Chagwa Chikkala.

    • @1.1 Kambalandile, Yes in most cases large voter turn out translates in change but that depends on who mobilized the voters. Most of the new voters were mobilized by the area MPs to register so apart from urban areas,it may turn out that the massive turn out could be to endorse preferred parties in their strongholds. in Jan’15 most areas being mentioned here had poor voter turn which is now very different. So let us wait and see where this leads us as results start trickling in later in the night.

    • Happy voting dear Zambians. This is the one day in 5 yrs that you have the instruments of power in your hands. Use them wisely!

  1. Please to all Zambians voting today vote wisely , for the next generation to have a better future . Next 5 years without a vision and making the some political and there family’s rich or having everyone in a strong Zambian economy .

  2. What surprises me is why declare a public holiday for something that opens at 06:00 and closes at 18:00…voting only takes about 15 mins…lets learn to put productivity first priority…I hope this will be the last we see of myopic shambolic leaders like the Utterly Lazy Bum Edgar.

  3. washala washala waya waya………Zambians, wishing you good luck! May you pick the best placed person to lead you in the next 5years. Remember the bribes during the campaign, the cheap lies that you were fed with, all this comes to an end at 18hrs. Vote for a leader who will bring real progress, do not succumb to cheap and populist short term lies and defamation of oppositions.
See you on the other side

    • Cool calm and composed my foot! I bet you didn’t watch Edgar when he was quized by the EU election monitoring delegation leader then you wouldn’t be saying this…

  4. Facebook and Internet party, remember what happened recently in south Africa on Facebook Julius Melema and
    Eff thought he had won

  5. DECISION DAY: ZAMBIA GOES TO THE POLLS – ZAMBIANS WILL SPEAK.
    ============================
    May the best man win.
I vote at exactly 15:59:59. And guess what? Against all odds, the man I will vote for, wins big.
    We are casting the die.
Y’all, on your feet; so let’s do this. Let’s put this beyond the shadow of doubt. Let’s employ our servants.

    • WARNING: A SERVANT MUST BE SUBORDINATE TO THE MASTER.
      ===========================
      Traits of a good servant:
      1) Must have the heart for the people (Uwachikuku)
      2) Must not be a Satanist
      3)Must not be Selfish
4)Must attest to some development of his making for the people.
      5) Must be violent (No GBV)
      6) Must be visionary
7)Must afford at least a smile
      8)Must love his neighbor
9)Must be a follower of Jesus not Nicodemus
      10) Must be living among you
If this sounds a bell, you know what I am talking about.

  6. Like it or not, this is the truth and i understand that it will make some people furious. EL has won already, its just an academic exercise going by the provinces which PF commands, there is no way 3 provinces can beat the other 7 . In some circles the truth is an offence.

    • i hope for the sake of our country you are wrong, the moment pf wins will be the last time zambia experiences freedom of speech and peace not forgetting prosperity, our country is on its knees as it is because of these plunderers and self serving bastards with a single goal to accumulate more wealth at the expense of ordinarly citizens, your vote is your secret but i urge people to vote wisely we can all read between the lines we only have black and white no shades of grey we either choose poverty or economic growth.

    • Mr Patriot ….there is always an inflection point when the ruling party loses grip on its strongholds and as history has shown in Zambia it never anounces itself before the elections….the ballot always does the talk

  7. It takes me less than 5 minutes to vote in my new adopted country. I just have to walk in cast my vote and walk out, NO QUEUING LIKE IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES!!!

  8. Well done Zambians for turning out in large numbers. It will will be cost effective to have a winner in the first ref round to avoid a rerun. All the best and let the best candidate take it!

  9. There will be a re-run and in the end shocking winner will emerge ……there will be joy and sadness to the hopefuls but whether the winner is ECL or HH….Zambia is granranteed to move forward better in these elections as representations in Parliament will definitely tell a different story

  10. As a Zambian outside the country and just watching and getting feeds from family and friends this is a very important day for mother Zambia.
Only one will emerge winner at the end of the day. Some will be disappointed and others will celebrate. As most of the independent observers would say, the winner isn’t clear at this stage. That is the reason for democracy and this election demonstrates it and that each vote counts. Whether this is decided by 100 votes or 250000 votes its part of democracy and thus the need to remain above board for all the officials involved.
LET US DEMONSTRATE THAT DEMOCRACY IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE IN OUR NATION AND VOTE WISELY!!!

  11. A higher voter turnout is evident across the nation- a higher voter turn out and less apathy in Pro PF areas, there won’t be much difference in the Pro UPND strongholds in terms of turnout in comparision to last year as those HH areas showed fanatical support last year for their relative we can therefore not expect a larger turnout in HH areas from what we saw last year, this will not be the case in Pro PF areas where many voters were disadvantaged due to rain and general apathy last year- this translates into a certain victory for PF. Its a simple and straightforward analysis. Sorry HH, sorry GBV, sorry lutuku, wanka like lilo, !diotmark, chi*a*a=chilyata, jaygay, dobo, wapanshi, whoelse?? Anyway they know themselves these UPND dunderheads.

Onwards to victory Team PF and ECL!

  12. Voting from nkana. Everyone here is just showing the fist. Could it be that Upnd will be voting tomorrow or they voted yesterday. Someone fill me in. When is Upnd voting?

    • voted from nkana east…..people are talking about change. Copperbelt has changed from the last time I was in zambia and voted there

    • Ba careless wispa nkana east nibashimaini proper and they are no tongas there. Kikiki ati change Yangwe. Mulekwatako shame.

  13. Well done Zambians for turning up in such large numbers. Show the world again that you’re a beacon of peace and indeed the sovereign LORD reigns over Zambia!
    God bless Zambia!

  14. I think a second round vote will take place as neither HH or ECL will get the 50+1. This in itself will be a good litmus test as people will then vote more decisively in the second round. In the first round what is happening is people don’t know whether their vote is really going to make a difference. This was the case with the Brexit referendum. If people had a second chance to vote they where going to apply their minds more.

  15. Very exciting to note the improved voter turnout, this in itself gives hope for change from hate and tribal speeches to real-issues of how to improve the standard of living of an ordinary Zambian across tribes and regions. Poverty has no tribe written on it! The 10-point plan is a pragmatic way to start fixing the broken economy. Thanks

  16. The Ballot boxes should have simply read:

    President/MP/Mayor/Councillor/Constitution…

    let’s wait and see 🙂

  17. ZAMBIA VOTES: THANKS PATRIOTS FOR EXTENDING CHAGWA’S RULE.
    ============================
Wow! It is rumored that the watermelon skin – GREEN has through chromatography penetrated and managed to turn the succulent red inside Green. It is a sign lady’s and gentleman, ECL tenure reaffirmed.
ITS NOT TOMORROW FELLAZ, ITS TODAY!

  18. Well done Zambian! We known and respected by outside world because of our DNA of peace. Yes! you have done it before!

  19. Before casting your vote have you done an assessment of the previous regime ?
E.G Did you get a Job?
or if you are working is your income sustainable such that you make ends meets?
Where you having more money in your pockets as promised?
Did you have better health care?
Where you children going to school without difficulties?
Are you a Farmer? Where you having your inputs ontime?
How about selling your produce, did they pay you ontime?
    …….
