UPND Demands a Recount in Lusaka due to Irregularities
We have formally requested a recount in Lusaka urban constituencies due to the high number of irregularities identified in the counting and transmission process. These abnormalities include the failure to provide polling agents with their copies of the Gen 12 form, leading to delays during which time our agents were subject to intimidation and in some cases illegal advance. We are now seeking this action through the courts.
There have also been a number of specific incidents in the District that have sparked allegation of manipulation, of which we have presented evidence to the Commission:
1. Our Lusaka mayoral candidate Dr. Maureen Mwanawasa uncovered a substantial discrepancy between the polling station totals and the constituency level result for Kanyama constituency of over 14,000 in favour of the PF.
2. Incidents in which PF supporters have been reported to arrive during the counting process and our agents were subject to intimidation, including at Kamwala basic school and Olympia school in Lusaka.
3. The identification of a higher number of votes tallied than registered voters.
4. The discovery of pre-marked ballot papers uncovered from a civilian van outside of ZAF HQ.
The evidence clearly shows that without this recount the election would be severely compromised and could result in a stolen election. We know the PF is seeking to ensure a re-run situation at this point, but the will of the Zambian people must prevail.

When great people do not contest elections, this is the nonsense that ensues.
Let ECZ complete give us remaining verified results so the country can get back to business tomorrow. We want to put politics behind us. Sole losers whinnying ceaselessly can seek the verdict of the reputable ConCourt known for professional independent judgement. These are classic acts of aberration synonymous with our African losers in elections. When losers are leading ECZ is professional and clean, but when trailing its paranoia everywhere. This is abuse of people’s tolerance to allow seasoned bad losers’ names on the ballot paper
Now these are extremely flimsy allegations with no element of truth whatsoever. Cry babies! We shall treat these allegations with no seriousness owing to the numerous similar time wasting allegations you have made before. Kindly order a recount after the election results. HH complains a lot, I have now stopped taking him seriously.
Were not other observers from all political parties, including in some cases international observers, present during the tallying of votes at these polling stations? And what are they saying about all this nonsense from ‘Chuundu Chaitwa Inc.’?
I realize that probably international observers are reluctant to say much lest they are accused of meddling in internal politics of our Country. But, for goodness sake, can these other political party leaders who participated please speak up!

Zambia needs to be very very worried because of this polarisation between the Western Half and Eastern Half. HH has taken the tribalism Genie out of its bottle and it will be difficult to put back.
HH should honourably resign and UPND liquidated as it is hopelessly tainted with Bantu Botatwe tribalism and be replaced by a new opposition party that should not be based on tribal lines. Otherwise UPND can never win an election with this tribal agenda. MMD was the last well balanced party. HH is not worthy of the mantle of Anderson Mazoka and should resign immediately. Aggrieved parties have 7 days to challenge the results in ConCourt. Its not for ECZ as long as they have followed their own process.

It very strange that PF would leave all this evidence for UPND to find. When UPND said during their campaigns that the elections will be rigged I think they put all the above in place to prove that they were right. Can the ballots for SP, NWP, WP be recounted also, who knows maybe fake ballots were stuffed in the boxes. PF representatives were harassed and chased from polling stations by UPND during counting of votes in the three provinces where UPND has won with unimaginable votes.
