Nkana brushed aside Nchanga Rangers 1-0 on Friday afternoon to consolidate their second position on the FAZ Super Division table.
Striker Walter Bwalya scored the lone goal after 66 minutes to hand Nkana a hard-fought win in this Week 23 match played at Nchanga Stadium.
It was a tightly contested encounter in which both side missed great chances before Bwalya scored.
In the first half Nkana had wasted chances through Freddy Tshimenga and Bwalya while Jimmy Sondashi and Simon Nkhata came close to scoring for Nchanga.
Ten minutes from time second half substitute Guily Manziba hit the upright as Nchanga kept a 1-0 deficit.
Nkana cuts Zanaco’s lead at the top to five points for at least 24 hours before the Bankers host Green Buffaloes at Sunset Stadium.
