Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Hamonga has assured the nation that the police service will ensure that the ConCourt operates without any disruption from unruly cadres, reports Pan African Radio Journalist Hermit Hachilonde.

Mr. Hamonga said the Police have always provided security at the courts of law and citizens should not worry.

He said anyone who will try to disturb the adjourned petition at concourt shall be dealt with according to the law.

“We have always provided security at the court to ensure that it operates without an disruption unnecessarily. Anyone who will try to do so shall be dealt with according to the law” he said

Mr. Hamonga was responding to a press query regarding the statement purported to have been issued by Max Chongo PF Crack Squad which Max Chongo has already distanced himself from the statement via facebook.

  1. Really laughable …Meanwhile silly cadres are camped outside the court under whose authority? Who has instructed them…who is really in-charge?

    • The problem in Zambia is we do not know who to go to to ask for a press statement. There are many people who are giving press statements like Shi Bwalya, Siliti, Chama, or Kambwili, on behalf of government meanwhile he is a party spokesperson. When do we get what from whom should be a careful journalistic skill.

    • RAE SIR. HOW CAN YOU ASSURE THE NATION OF SAFEGUARDING THE COURT WHEN PF THUGS ARE SITTING AND DRINKING RIGHT ACCROSS FROM THE COURT? FROM THE PICTURE THEY ARE PROVIDED WITH SEATS AND WINE GLASSES AND SOMEONE BIG IS BEHIND THEM BACKING THIS MOVE. WHY HAVE THEY NOT BEING REMOVED. SIR THE POLICE S BEHAVIOUR FROM CAMPAIGNS AND DURING VOTING HAS BROUGHT DISGRACE BOTH TO OUR UNIFORM AND OUR BADGES. POLICE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE NON PARTISAN AND FROM YOUR BEHAVIOUR WE THINK YOU HAVE BEEN PAID A LARGE SUM OF MONEY TO ACT UNPROFFESIONALY SIR.

  2. Iam Die Hard UPND but if i can sit on a cliff and scan through the Zambian political landscape,it looks from very near that the PF is burying itself in the sand.For example this statement from the police spokesperson above indicates that Max choongo is not on good terms with his former party PF.He says this and the cops say that,when previously they planned evil together.Lungu used Max to win an election and that time is over now-choongo is now gabbage but the guy hasnt been told by mouth yet.Alot of deceptions,try & error methods by PF will come to pass this week.They ll now start murdering all the people that helped them to rig elections because the courts will be hunting for them as evidence.What a demise!

  3. Max never threatened to disrupt court proceedings. It is the work of the usual stinking lies by the watchdog..! Always trying to incite people to fight each other..!

  4. Whatever the Constitutional Court will entertain after Friday 2nd September is illegal and therefore an academic exercise. If a court set up specifically to uphold the constitution is itself abrogating the constitution, the judges concerned have to be removed for gross misconduct and for working against the interests of the nation. It is as simple and straight forward as that.
    As it stands, Lungu’s inauguration can proceed and there is no legal nor constitution pronouncement the Concourt can issue against such a move as they will not be backed by the constitution and the laws of Zambia. To highlight the absurdity of the move the Concourt has taken lets look at this hypothetical but probable scenario;

    Lets say the Concourt was to rule that a rerun would be necessary as a result of…

  5. The Concourt has gone againts the law!…who will ever follow the law in this country kanshi? 14 days inapita please let the Government start working!

  6. I have never seen a petition in court with a sitting president and thereafter you blame the concourt for the postponement of the hearing. Tapali uulekonka ifunde if the claimed heard of state CNT follow who are those judges paid from his can do to impress the nation, nothing bane Zambia is ont a country which is governed by the constitution, the petition in court, the speaker home, in his sitting room. With a petioned president working and instructing and with ZNBC busy issuing statements like,,,president elect,,,,,,, yabaa natulelya fye ubwali. Thank you for destroying the peace and democracy our forefathers taught for us. Zambia indeed still dreaming. Mwalilenga tulelusalusa nomupila pafya bupuba.
