Police in Lusaka have charged and arrested Lusaka lawyer Martha Mushipe.

Ms Mushipe who is a senior legal counsel for the UPND has been charged with being in possession of seditious materials.

The charge relates to a confidential document entitled Strategy of domination PF against opposition UPND 2015 – 2016 and beyond” which among others involves use of violence against the opposition.

The document is alleged to have been authored by former Justice Minister Dr Ngosa Simbyakula and two others.

This is after her lawyer firm located at Millennium Village Complex in Lusaka was searched by police in April this year.

Her lawyers told Journalists that Ms. Mushipe has been denied police bond and that they have now sought the intervention of the Lusaka Magistrate Court to secure her release.

  1. Nothing seditious, that document was published online way before the conducted search. It’s time to move on by mending the economy and less politicking. We are just coming from a torturous election; we need to do away with perceived political arrests.

    • We need to stand up against this injustice. Next time it will be your mother. Lets all right thinking Zambians stand up for our country before its too late.

    • This has come as a no surprise to me. Martha Mushipe is one of the few iron ladies we have in Zambia. She is the one who told off Priscilla Isaacs (the disgruntled lady who has continued using the name of a white man despite being dumped several years ago) at Mulungushi conference center in presence of both the local and international election observers after giving accreditation to a Ugandan international to have unlimited access to the server room which is the results totaling center to favor Chagwa or Chapona. She is the one who grilled corrupt Chulu (the shameless dude who announced to the whole world that Chagwa had more votes than the total number of votes casted in Lundazi). If you didn’t see this arrest coming then you are either blind or f00lish.

    • The political prostitute judges should be very careful. You mess with this woman and Zambia will burn. She is not like that ugly Priscilla who is the ugliest thing alive. Lungu, you better tread carefully. Zambians your rights ewill be taken away from you under this moron.

    • As long as UPND continues to hang on the fences rather than proactively fighting these vices of injustice by calling for international sanctions and suspension from international bodies, this will continue to happen. Mwaliteta and many other are currently languishing in jail on trumped up charges; now Mushipe; and next will be the lawyers that represented the UPND plus all the top party brass. ACT NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

    • Mushipe being a lawyer herself knows that falsifying information is a serious criminal offence.

She must explain the false documents and false publications they have been making – impersonating innocent people such as Simbyakula, Amos Chanda, State House, etc.

When you do that, you are a serious criminal who is capable of fraud, impersonation, false pretense etc.

It was clear that UPND wanted to use falsehood, lying, fabrication, and falsification of fake documents to try and create some form of ‘evidence’ to their agenda through an ill-conceived ‘petition’.

Now, you don’t play with the nation in that manner; Zambia is a real nation – it is not a toy that you pick up and start to subject it to child play – No!

Just wait, much of what was happening during the elections…

    • @1 Chosen one, you know that they could not arrest the entire cyberspace, since most of these online media running issues on Zambian affairs are not traceable. So,some one found with information deemed seditious should be questioned. YOU ARE CONFUSING ANARCHY with DEMOCRACY,FREEDOM and LAW ENFORCEMENT,DISCIPLINE with DICTATORSHIP!!If one has materials purported to insinuate a calculated move by a group of people to violate right of other citizens, then that person must PROVE BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT the SOURCE of such a DOCUMENT so that the PUBLIC can DEMAND TO KNOW WHY SUCH SCHEMES SHOULD EXIST! We SHOULD NOT ALLOW people to TARNISH NAMES of THEIR COMPETITORS for leadership WITHOUT PROOF!! This is A RIGHT MOVE!!

  2. Well I knew this woman would land herself into trouble. Long overdue. Its not jet science anymore. I am sure police will find a lot on her that she was leaning on. One by one they shall be separated and hammered individually and not collectively.
I am sure ECZ senior officers are also waiting for a piece of her for those public insults and demeanings she poured on them.
Lets wait and see how dull lawyers defend themselves.

    • She’ll probably defend herself…..AND we KNOW how that’ll go! She’ll forget to serve ‘herself!’

    • “CIMBWI UKULILA NINSHI PALI UKO ASHINTILILE” THIS WOMAN WENT ON RUMPAGE TO INSULT ECZ UNCONTROLLABLY. THERE SHOULD REALLY BE SOME DIRTY STUFF THIS WOMAN AND UPND WERE PLANNING.

  3. It’s the Gov’t st.upid! No one can or should treat their gov’t with disdain. Hope the police have so etching solid and may the judge/s in the hearing give support to their fellow Judges that she contemptuously degraded.

There is need for the state to assert its authority in this case as example to violent groups using our political system for its violent ends.

  4. This girl spend all the votes counting period at Mulungushi and she gave Priscilla and all the PF minions who were masquerading as ECZ officials a hard time. She’s now paying the price. I see another Lucy Sichone in this woman. She should take the establishment on and she can expose them for who they are. Go girl go girl! At least you are no a chancer like Tasila (who some people think has no password between her legs-I do not have the facts Tasila about this I am just a messenger). You are a lawyer, Martha (‘Mushipe’ fye mayo) and a champion of morality in public service. We need you.

    • Oh come on! This is the lady who represented UPND in that dreadful Petition which was so full of dramatic, howling errors that even a trainee lawyer would never make! These are just fakers, thrusting their images and names to create an aura of importance. They parade around like Players in the bigger game but are in reality Losers! How lacking in morality are you?

      0

      0
    • But disturbingly, your attempt at degrading Tasilla, an accomplished woman, who has won an election as Councillor for her ward is evidence of the type of mentally unstable people behind UPND.

Absolutely disgusting, especially at a time we are celebrating women in political Leadership. Since the world witnessed Ms Mushipe’s immodesty in her ill fitting mini skirt, with legs apart, we all know who has no password!

    • I don’t know much about law and what makes a good lawyer but at least she’s out there challenging some sort of cause on an open platform. You and I are here talking like cowards while we give ourselves $tupid names like Analyser and Patriot abroad instead of being out there in the open to make a difference. We are losers and lack the moral strength which Martha has. We parade ourselves like players on the bigger stage (game) of blogging but we are reality losers, Shut up!

    • Rubbish,
Mushipe is an i.di.o.t. How can you claim that people were voting six times. Where in Zambia can this happen? Any body with a brain knows that this is not possible. Mushipe is an alarmist and offered HH wrong advise.

      0
    • @Analyser speak fir yourself. I have some self legal representation court experience coming up against big Western organisations, so I would not call myself a coward.

      0

      0
    • Mwantemba the two of you, so you are both cowards. If you are spending time blogging and not spending more time building a case ‘against a big Western organisation’, the case will collapse in your face. Seek legal representation from Martha Mushipe, the woman of the moment. By my assessment of you, you need such representation.

    • And losing licence to practice? Was it worth it? Never let bad people lead you astray, turning the hard work of your life into failure!

    • When she loses the licence to practice, Like Lungu it will be given back to her by an overrule of the LAZ by a President HH when he comes in to appoint her as Minister of Legal affairs. This guy either has no knowledge of African politics or chooses to choose what he wants to believe. Do we need Governments in Africa or we just need to be re-colonised?

I ask a question and suddenly I am being called names such as my age being diminished simultaneously my intelligence being diminished, And what the hell is a black Zambua? Inferiority complex and I am being pointed to a slave nation in some direction. That really hurts.

  8. WARNING FROM ABOVE
I have this odd feeling that things won’t be okay in this country. It is pretty strange. The feeling is further punctuated by this weird vision I had in which God had unleashed his fury on Zambia for the injustices that are going on, corruption, moral decadence and treachery.

In that vision God had unleashed a heat wave that was followed by violent tropical storms that destroyed property and claimed many lives. Soon after that disaster, floods imaged which caused further damage to property, killing more people and leaving many destitute. Many people sort refuge in temporal shelters provided by the state. But life there was unbearable as the government was bankrupt and could not provide food and sanitation. People starved to death. To cap it all, cholera epidemic…

    • You can tell a true prophet because they do not put their ‘feeling’ into it. This is just your psycho head messing with you or your attempt at messing up others. There are others here who have insight, but they ‘seek’ it from God and relay without personal feelings. No, Zambia, is in a state of grace, in which hope is flourishing. Even in the bible God’s people fight wrong, and our Father in Heaven is the best Warrior in any town, the finisher of the war of Justice. We are entitled Justice on earth, people like Martha are not enlightened enough to understand the gift God confers on Judges and all in the path to justice. I WRITE WITH AUTHORITY, as one who has the prophecy of Deborah over her. We speak Peace in the Name of Jesus.

    • Even those that do wrong in gov’t will be caught. Look at the Farmers Union, all things are exposed and the wicked are punished which ever side. All things work for good in the end, because evil can’t triumph.

  9. Zambians are worrying. They clap hands for insulting and disrespectful behavior. We have more competent and respectful Lady Lawyers than this quack. She will now learn that public emotions end in individual accountability. Ask Mwaliteta and were he got the chilli spray. He is now alone in Chombokaila.

    • Some Zambians are even more worrying: Celebrating the fraudulent election victory of a dictator!!If there’s anyone who did not notice that last month’s elections were fraudulent that person must be very dull.Martha Mushipe was just speaking her mind out about the greatest injustices that have been committed in the history of this country. Her offices were searched in April this year. Why effecting the arrest now? How convenient!!Infact she deserves a medal for exhibiting such bravery against the most brutal regime in the country’s history.

By end of five years (that is if he makes it) Lungu will have been worse than KK.

That is why YOU SUPPORT MEDIA HOUSES THAT ARE SPREADING ANARCHY,FALSEHOODS and PREACHING HATRED which is ENDANGERING NATIONAL UNITY. If one has materials purported to insinuate a calculated move by a group of people to violate right of other citizens, then that person must PROVE BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT the SOURCE of such a DOCUMENT so that the PUBLIC can DEMAND TO KNOW WHY SUCH SCHEMES SHOULD EXIST! • What will make ECL even worse as a dictator is that each time he cannot make a bold decision, assuming he can, he chooses to lead the nation ‘to seek God’s intervention’. ECL has failed us on the big stage as well, the UN where he is dancing to dumuna reverse instead of doing serious business about refugee crisis. ECL should come back home, he is letting down those who believe in him. Even FTJ who was close to ECL’s relaxed stature could not be dancing during a mission to the UN. I had a chance to see Sata, who ECL claims to be from his school, in London after his victory in 2012. There was an opportunity for him to play and dance to donchi Kubeba King Dandy’s song after beating his sworn rival RB but he did not because of the huge task that awaited him.

Jay Jay Low has just confirmed my assertion that Tongas have been stealing big time and being protected by their tribesmen in ACC, DEC, Auditors, Police etc. See he is yearning for late Mwanawasa coz he knows that Mathar and Nguleka and Ndambo would have been protected and would not have been arrested. What they do is focus on arresting Bembas and other tribes for trumped up cases while they gloss over cases involving their own people

  23. Someone says ‘in five years time Lungu will be worse than KK’. Well, compared to this lot, KK was a Saint! Anyone who gets under the noses of the PF is arrested – more akin to persecution actually, because the PF usually have no intelligent way of rebuffing any legitimate challenge. The ‘solution’ is intimidation through no reasonable grounds for an arrest. We warned you – jungle law is being established even further.
